It has nice walking paths, lots of benches and picnic tables and a great play area for kids. It has lots of beautiful plants and trees and provides a very relaxing area for a walk or just to sit by the river and enjoy the view. I was here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and there were hardly any people here. There is not a ton of parking so if it were to get busy I am not sure if that would be a problem but worth a try. I would recommend a stop if you need a nice relaxing moment in your day.

With that being said, the guy that works here is an absolute miserable person. To explain, I went to pick up a scorecard and he flipped out. He yelled and said that "he was the only one allowed to touch the scorecards". This is a mini golf course, not the Masters. Furthermore, he wouldn't let you pick your own club so my club was way too short for me. On top of that, he let way too many people on the course at once and it was impossible to move. It took almost two hours to finish the course. Also, when I was in the middle of a hole, the guy came out with leaf blower and was holding everyone up. Just an unbelievable experience. In the same manner, the course itself was not good. To clarify, the course was extremely hilly and the greens were uneven. The golf balls would just roll by themselves. In addition, the course was only designed for right handed players. There were several holes where you couldn't even hit as a lefty due to trees and bushes. It was simply a poorly designed course. In all, Shell We Golf is one of the worst mini golf courses that I've ever played due to poor design and rude employees.

It was an absolute joy. I would've recommend this to anyone. Even the trails that were rocky that go outback through the woods we did on a street bike no problem. They seem to be very well-maintained trails. At one point you had the super long bridge that goes over a swampy area, which is really cool too. On the way up on the trail, we saw a turtle crossing the trail on the way back. We saw but I assume is the same turtle taking a hole with his back legs. I don't know why I spent my whole life going to the Jersey shore. You drive an extra hour. You could come down here and have a super nice beach that's not packed and the super nice trails that you can bicycle too.

Second, this is a lovely trail for hiking a couple miles, but it's not covered by trees, so perhaps it's better for a cloudy day. Third, you'll get a view of sand dunes, wetlands, and a pond (if you're lucky, a heron will come into view). This is a delightful trail for a relaxing walk - and a haven for joggers, dog walkers, and photographers. I think the Gordons Pond Trail is one of the crown jewels in Cape Henlopen State Park.

It's a smaller State park and slightly confusing with the direction's but the staff was helpful just get a map. We camped in a "walk back" section of E. Very spacious sites with the bathroom/shower reasonably close. Parking was "ok"..... but they fill up and then you have to use overflow. The bathrooms/showers were clean BUT I guess I'm used to sites that spray repellent because nature is boss. We drove through the comfort sites of D and they were too tight for my liking. They have yurts and cabins but for me a tad too close. They do have an Island camp site Loved it!!!!! That's a must do. It's 2 sites across a short walking bridge with water view and access. I would definitely go back.

One thing I don't understand is why the Park Maintenance people don't cut the Wisteria growth on the trees? Some trees have vines over two inches in diameter. The water was cold, but you get use to it! There was a lot of jelly fish today! But we did not get stung! This beach was very clean! Wide beach with lots of lifeguards! The boardwalk is short, but gets really busy and packed! You have Grotto pizza, burgers, and Trasher fries as some examples to pick from!

When you have a December birthday, and can get comfortable weather that's not freezing, and be near a beach, and not have to travel on a cruise or to Florida it's a must on the to do list. Smaller boardwalk then Atlantic City, still worth the visit. I was lucky enough to stop an older couple, who ironically shared my special day, with getting married, so happy birthday to me, and congrats to them to take my picture in a few spots. The main boardwalk was fairly busy, nothing crazy, as parades I've been too in Buffalo, NY and surrounding suburbs. The weather to me was perfect, and not cold at all, for the parade. Parade well organized, police presence, for parade/ traffic control, full of Christmas cheer and patrons were friendly and cautious of others in attendance. Boardwalk consists of variety of shops, places to eat and hotels. Highly recommend a visit, check website or email for events

There are educational programs and standup paddleboarding. There's great bird watching. We saw seabirds and a wild turkey. Osprey are abundant in season. They are working to restore native plants. There's an oyster community being established to clean the water and support the return of aquatic plants. Volunteers were there to answer questions and teach us about the ecology of the area and help us find an easy hike to do with our senior dog.

First time to this awesome bayside beach!…read more Parking was a challenge and when someone across the street from the paid lot opened their yard to park for $20 all day, I was happy to pay. Easy to get to beach. Shallow calm water. There are many families and children (mid August 2024) and it was peaceful and chill. Clean gendered public toilets and outdoor shower if you need. Friendly life guards on duty. Lifeguard Trent was just wonderful to chat with and watch him help others with kindness and care. The Cape May ferry terminal is near and the ferry comes and goes. The Lion's club hosts a stand that rents umbrellas, rafts and other beach gear. They also sell hotdogs, pizza, icees and snacks. I had strawberry-lemon which was refreshingly perfect. Beyond-the-call-of-duty Lifeguard update! These pushy women sat beneath the lifeguard chair and after asking where the rental shack is about 10 times and being told--they said they couldn't walk there (it's not far) to get an umbrella. They whined and whined. Trent took the umbrella down from the lifeguard chair and set it up for them to use!!! So so generous of you Trent! I highly recommend this beach if you're looking for ease. Parking likely easier earlier in the day. I beached til evening!
