I had an urgent medical issue and was able to get an appointment pretty easily with Jolin (I now know why). After his exam and diagnosis, I asked if there were any other treatment options that could be considered. He abruptly freaked out and told me to leave his office immediately for questioning him. I had asked a totally normal question that I've asked other doctors many times before. It was one of the most bizarre experiences of my life and left me feeling awful. He later called to apologize but I wanted to just move past the experience. Bottom line, he treated me horribly and is not fit to be a doctor. This happened years ago but I feel it needed to be said to warn others.

If you've ever needed more time for whatever reason, you'd understand. As for Sondra, his incredible multi-tasking Assistant, my experience is she does everything possible to keep a very busy office running smoothly and all the balls they juggle in the air. She cares about the patients and I find will do all in her power to deliver on what's asked. I think she's a tremendous asset to the office and they complement each other. Dave has been a patient of Dr Harpole for 10 years and has always expressed to me how rude the lady at the desk was but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. In the past Dave was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic and has both diabetes and heart disease in the family. Blood work was done two months ago and because of Daves work schedule and the Dr's shortened hours, he was just now able to schedule the bloodwork review. Going in, Dave had mentioned that he had seen a urologist regarding a prostate issue and was scheduled for a procedure to recify the problem. Dr Harpole discussed the prostate problem and then an audible "buzzer" went off signaling the end of the appointment! Dr Harpole not only rushed him out of the office but refused to even address the 2 month old blood work telling him he now needed to make yet another appointment to go over them!!! When he asked Sandra at the desk she refused to even give him any copies until Dr Harpole "released" them. The Dr did manage to litterally scribble on a piece of paper a couple of notes regarding the results and all we could make out was "borderline diabetic." Daves father passed due to complications from diabetes and Dr Harpole is well aware of this! I then made a call to Sandra asking what had happened and she told me she could not release anything without the Dr's approval even though that's what the appointment was scheduled for in the first place. The prostate issue was completely taken care of and under control. Here's the whole crux of the experience...Dave's urologist whom he had only met one time actually took the time to call me from HER HOME and spend 20 minutes talking to me to find out more about Dave because she's a doctor who CARES and is in practice for all the right reasons. I remember delivering UPS to Dr Harpole back in 1981 and thinking it's probably time to retire since there seems to be an obvious burn out issue here. I will also be contacting John Muir and the Medical board regarding his practice. The MA Pam is consistently rude. I came in right when they took over and got everything squared away as a new patient and then didn't see them for 3 years and they told me anyone they haven't seen in 3 years gets removed from the system and is no longer a patient.. and I'd have to be scheduled as a new patient and they didn't have any openings for 9 -12 months for new patients. So because I'm healthy and had no issues for three years they deleted my 30 years of records from Hobert and removed me as a patient. I've heard this exact story from other Hobert patients. My parents were still with them up until recently when they told us they were no longer working with their healthcare. We called the healthcare who said that wasn't true at all and then called back to tell them they are willing to pay and if they send them the bill it will be taken care of only for them to tell us they are lying to you and rudely told us they weren't arguing about it anymore (after only 2 quick phone calls) and that they were no longer using that healthcare and we could only pay out of pocket or find a new healthcare. Each time I've talked with them on the phone I felt as if I was at the dmv. The drs seemed okay even though the one time I came in I felt like I was being rushed out the door or I was just being used as a training situation, and my father felt as if he was never listened to and almost always rushed out the door. It's a shame they took over a staple in the community only to reject that community.

Dr. Carpenter is amazing. She always listens to me and has no problem. Ordering tests when needed. I hope she's in practice for a very long time. The front of the office staff is incredible. They're always so kind and caring, and Salvador Fierro has always had my referrals ready for me and any notes that I may need for work before I leave the office. He's also been extremely timely And thorough with disability paperwork. He is a great asset to that office. I highly recommend the Von Stieff medical group.

The office is located off Taylor Blvd, which is a busy street. The building isn't hard to miss. Upon our arrival, there was a huge parking lot with plenty of parking spots available. We arrived shortly before 8am so maybe that's why. The digestive clinic is located on the 3rd floor of the building. It's surround by other offices but fairly easy to find. The office was clean and there were plenty of seats in the waiting room. Upon checking in, we were greeted by the staff. The woman working the front desk appeared to be very friendly and welcoming. My loved one didn't wait too long to be seen. The provider was very friendly and informative. Answered all our questions and addressed my loved one's concerns. She promptly submitted all the information needed to get the ball rolling for their plan of treatment. We didn't feel rushed at all which is a huge plus. I was very impressed with their services during our first visit. I will circle back to this to provide you with an updated review later down the line.

I didn't even see the doctor at all so he can be rude to me. Never at my procedure nor my office visits. Communication with office is not existent. If you ask you might get an answer and you might be transferred to a line that never picks up or calls back. Results are in. I get email but nothing from the doctor. I guess I just have to read them myself. I took a tolerance test at office. Called 3 times to get the results and no luck. They tell me that the results are in but the doctor will tell me at my appointment which is a month later. I guess in the mean time I'll just leave my faith to luck and keep dealing with the consequences. My advice is just go somewhere else.
