This place cannot be understated. I came here for post op care and the level of caring from the staff was unmatchable. Specifically the staff that help you in the back to get into your chamber and check your vitals before and after. I did notice quite the difference in healing when I had my sessions here. There is a lot of science behind how this impacts the body and said condition or trauma to the body. Dr. Alex is fabulous in their knowledge. I have had, and continue to have, an amazing experience at HH. My introduction to hyperbaric treatment came about after a procedure to treat about a year's worth of chronic back pain. Alex and crew have taken what could be a mundane intervention and transformed it into a spa-like experience. I LOVE coming here! The dive itself is relaxing and afterward, you transition to the decompression space with plush zero-gravity chairs, warm face towels, and fruit-infused water. I opt for red-light therapy after my dive, and this too, is elevated with cold towels and more of that fruit-infused water. In short, Alex has created a very beautiful and zen healing space. I, and everyone around me, have noted a significant ramp-up in my recovery. I can honestly say that not only am I walking better, I am looking younger (wink), and getting the best sleep of my life. On my first visit, I was very scared and a little skeptical but I am in need of help and I don't want to take drugs and nothing else was working. I started with extreme brain fog and headaches that resulted from long Covid but felt exactly like I did when I had my last major concussion a few years ago from a freak accident where it body flung out of a car. I learned about HBOT from and book about concussions so I found holistic hyperbarics which wasn't the closest HBOT facility to me but I like that when I called, they were a lot nicer on the phone then the place that was closer to me. All the staff that I have met there, like Derek, Shelby, Sam, Pedro, Keyshawn and Jordan have been very nice and made me feel very safe. I like that the spa feels clean enough on the inside of the chambers and I don't have to worry because all of the staff are EMTs so they can take care of you if they need to and everybody is well educated about the process which I love. I really like the fact that there are windows that help with the claustrophobia, and you could peek outside of the windows if you feel scared. Also, the EMTs keep checking on you to make sure that you feel safe and aren't freaking down. They all do such a great job that they are what makes this place great. After 60 sessions, my headaches have lessened but they are still present. I read other reviews where people had bruises that healed faster, but I had bruises that I would notice on day one during the week, and the bruises would fade but still took a week to fade as they normally would do without 5 HBOT sessions in between. Also, some lucky people had old scars fade. I had zero old scars fade because I took before and after photos to compare for myself and the after looks like the before. Don't forget having a healthy diet while going through this therapy. I gave up caffeine, alcohol and unhealthy foods for months. I also incorporated a few juice cleanses throughout my healing journey. I'm glad that I don't have the headaches that I initially came in with, but people with my condition also said with normal time they fade. One day, I hobbled in with Achilles' tendinitis from not stretching enough am just running everyday. Hoping that HBOT would help alleviate the new pain because I read a medical journal article about it helping. I had daily sessions that week, and my tendinitis did not go away so I had to go to my minor injury doctor to get a walking boot and stretches. I think it was because I wasn't driving deep enough and my body just needs more pressure. I called Christine and left a voicemail about not having enough pressure. She called me back the next day but I missed her call and she left a voicemail saying that they don't do that. Still thinking that I wasn't diving deep enough, I was at 2.0 ATA by the time that I left, and that was the pressure when I started to actually feel that it was working. The only reason why I was at 2.0 ATA was because I kept asking the technicians to give me a deeper dive . My regular physician told me that she didn't know enough about HBOT to recommend to me. Holistic Hyperbarics has an on-site physician who just was never there whenever I was so they never saw me but they wrote me a prescription to use the HBOT chambers. I'm kind of a clean freak, so when you take off your shoes to step into the chamber, you step onto a floor mat with your socks, but that same floor mat is stepped on by lots of shoes. You can tell because your socks would get dirty from the contact. Insurance didn't pay for this so my experience is all out of pocket. It wasn't the miracle that I was hoping for but at least I tried a different methodology on my healing journey. read more

The pressure increases, just as if you were diving down deep in the ocean, so its called a "dive". If found the treatment exceptionally relaxing. I had a patch of scary black skin after a surgery which meant it could be dying off, and my doctor prescribed hyperbaric sessions which are pure oxygen delivered to you at increased pressure in metal chambers. It sounds a bit Jules Verne, but Holistic Hyperbarics manages to make the whole experience serene and lovely. The whole staff is very kind, and you change into scrubs and assigned slippers before going into the relatively spacious metal chamber which is lined with pillows. You are given a walkie talkie for communication with the staff and then you're in a peaceful island watching Netflix. Because electronic devices like your phone aren't allowed inside, it's a calm experience of going off the grid. The metal chamber has several portholes, and the experience is not at all claustrophobic. While the facilities are super clean, the staff are warm and make the experience as cozy as it can be. After you finish, you are guided to the decompression room is a dimly lit space with scented hot towels, lemon/lime water, supplements to help you on your healing journey and just quiet and peace. While I was there for targeted healing, I felt so much more energized and as if a lot of inflammation in my body went down. I think the higher levels of oxygen and circulation really helped me feel better in many ways. I had an amazing time at Holistic Hyperbarics. As a person who had never experienced anything like this before and who had a significant amount of trepidation, I can't speak highly enough about it. The entire experience from walking in the door to exiting was great. I was greeted with warmth and everything was explained in detail. At one point, while in the chamber, I sort of felt my anxiety increasing and asking if the speed of the descent could slowdown a bit and I was accommodated and spoken to calmly. Eventually I found a show to watch on Netflix on the tablet in the inside and got so comfortable and relaxed that I fell asleep. I went to Holistic Hyperbarics for treatment of long COVID because I had seen some of studies that showed positive results in treating long COVID and my conversations with Alex indicated they had had success in treating long COVID. Unfortunately, it did not help me, even after 42 treatments and considerable money. In fact, I suffered a number of crashes during the months I had treatment, most likely due to the travel back and forth and the requirement of 24 hours notice to cancel. It is difficult to know how I will feel each morning and ended up going to sessions even though I felt poorly. I expected to be able to get consultations with staff physicians, but only received one and it was not an MD, so I felt I was pretty much on my own. On the plus side, the staff was very good and the treatment experience was pleasing, so I would recommend the place for conditions that have a stronger track record of benefiting from hyperbaric oxygen treatment. read more

I came to Alex with a concussion after a motor vehicle accident. I am a professor and doctorally prepared clinician. Having a traumatic brain injury was pretty devastating. Everyone was so compassionate and caring. I had limited capacity and they walked me through everything. I remember bursting into tears, a consequence of my head injury and not understanding what was happening, and Alex was assuring and patient with me. Holistic Hyperbarics is a hidden GEM! I am about half way through a 16-20 day fertility protocol preparing for my first embryo transfer at the end of the month. I have Crohns Disease, and the only thing my doctors have told me is that I need surgery and/or to get on a second biologic in order to heal. I found some research out there about hyperbaric treatment helping to speed up the healing of tissue. I figured, well, I might as well try it. For the last year I have been in pain, uncomfortable, scared that my end result is surgery, and feeling depressed that all the things I am doing are still not helping. Warm, professional service! I reached out to Holistic Hyperbaric in a panic on a Thursday night because I was not properly healing after surgery. They responded early Friday morning, got me an appointment with the on-site physician and into a hyperbaric chamber that day. Time is of the essence after surgery and the sooner you begin hyperbaric treatment the more effective it is. The team is incredibly caring and warm but also professional and skilled. The medical intake was thorough and everything was explained clearly. Each treatment is starts and ends with checking blood pressure, oxygen levels and heart rate. The facility is very clean yet warm. The changing area has lockers with a key to secure your belongings and thoughtful details like single use supplies (gum, lip balm, deodorant, skin cleansing wipes, sealed combs, hair bands, etc.). There are two types of chambers. The chamber I used had a pad, pillows for comfort, a monitor with Netflix and headphones. There is also gum and tissues to use in your "dive". If you need, the staff will give you warm blankets, a beanie for your head, socks, and even a sweatshirt if you are cold. After treatment, the decompression lounge provides a quiet space to relax with water, warm towels and supplements to support your recovery. Over the course of my treatments, the people at HH went above and beyond - reaching out to my doctors and insurance company, supporting my recovery and sharing their mission to support health and healing. I came to Holistic Hyperbarics with a diabetic foot ulcer/wound. The doctors at Kaiser were telling me my only option was to amputate all of my toes on that foot. I was feeling scared and hopeless and desperately looking for options to help heal my foot. I called Holistic Hyperbarics and the owner, Alex, had me come in the very next day. From that first visit, she gave me hope again. She told me it would take some dedication, but we could fix this. I started doing treatment 5 times a week. Wow! What an experience! I was a little (not a lot, but for sure a little) worried if I'd be comfortable in a hyperbaric chamber - I tend to get in my head a lot unnecessarily. I was so comfortable, y'all! From the time I walked in (and I was having a moment re: work stressors) the gentleman that greeted me was super kind & courteous, taking my temp at the gate (bc we're still in a pandemic) and walking me in to the space. The HH suite (bc it's definitely not just a studio or room) was a whole rustic, plant kween mood(!!!), filled with ultra lush greenery & a whole spa vibe. Will, my "dive guide" was so warm & welcoming upon greeting me & escorted me to a waiting lounge area, very plush & lavish I might add, where I watched a brief video that explained what was going to happen, what I needed to do & what support I would have during my time in the chamber. I felt super safe, well taken care of, and was reassured by Will (because I got nervous & asked) that he'd gone through several dives & loved it - and that it wouldn't be uncomfortable at all & he'd be right outside, just a walkie-talk away, if anything. When the door closed, the silence was amazing (I really like quiet lol). I played on my phone for a few minutes, and then heard on the walkie that my dive was starting. I had to pop my ears a bunch, but HH provided gum, so that really helped. Once I got to the dive pressure, Will let me know it was time to put on my oxygen mask; it was comfortable & easy to use. I eventually fell asleep, and woke back up, mask still on, more grateful than I could express for the rest. I've had a lot of changes in life recently- mostly good - but less time to rest, and this was a welcomed respite. After my 90 minute dive, Will walkied in that I'd be coming back up. After exiting the chamber, I was able to rest again in the lounge area, where I was given fruit infused water & a couple vitamins to help with the oxygen absorption. I was in a bit of a haze & was gently reminded that I was welcomed to stay as long as I wanted but also that I was able to go whenever I felt ready (which wasn't long, but I appreciated the time to recalibrate for a few minutes). After my appointment I was pretty tired, had plans of going back to work, but ended up going home eating and going to bed. Last year, when I hit my head on the trunk door, I had a concussion, and the anxiety and depression was really bad. I called a few places out of desperation and either I had to wait until next week or they charged $200+ per session. My husband had ongoing treatment for prostate cancer for twenty yeaars. Suddenly the cancer intruded onto his spine and he needed surgery. Unfortunately, internal bleeding from another condition caused the surgeon to tell him the surgery couldn't go forward unless the bleeding stopped. Three sessions of hyperbaric treatment stopped the bleeding and the surgery went forward. On another occasion he had blood clots and his urologist recommended hyperbaric treatment, which quickly stopped the blood clots. One amazing little side note: For many years he had a fungus on his thumb nail, after hyperbaric treatment he noticed the nail was cured! We love Holistic Hyperbarics!! I can really tell everyone believes in the work that they are doing and they are there to help people. I am struggling with long covid symptoms including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and POTS. The care team at HH was very careful to start me out on supplemental oxygen first and they were right to do so. Gradually, my body was able to adjust to the influx of oxygen and I really think that it prevented me from losing my executive function at a critical time in my recovery. This place is a gem. Such a more personable and real experience than other hyperbarics locations. This place is LUSH; plants everywhere. It has a cozy spa feel but so obviously has high clinical standards. Alex, the owner, is amazing and really listens to your personal issues. My partner's foot was deteriorating from complications of an autoimmune condition but after starting hyperbarics their foot bounced back! Great bloodflow and bones finally healing up. I started getting treated after having my daughter. I was 6 weeks post partum and I had gotten really bad mastitis. This place is phenomenal, very professional, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and they're taking extra precautions during the pandemic to keep everyone safe! I do neurofeedback here and it's made such a HUGE difference in my executive dysfunction, anxiety, and depression - better than anything I've ever tried! The initial brain mapping was helpful and definitely accurate bc it echoed things I was already feeling. It's great bc the brain mapping gives you tangible data so you can measure and see your progress (as well as custom tailor your neurofeedback). The neurofeedback sessions are enjoyable and remind me of a video game. I have lots of allergies, and they're so accommodating! They're great about staying on top of which products not to use for me bc I'm allergic, and which products they CAN use to make sure everything is cleaned properly so there isn't a covid risk. I don't have to remind them which is a huge burden off my shoulders. They make me feel extremely safe! I've also suffered from chronic migraines most of my life, and I didn't have anything that helps me consistently - I had all but given up bc nothing works. But they're very knowledgeable and educated about health issues (more than some of my doctors), and they were able to figure out what the problem might be and come up with a solution! Their oxygen therapy helps me so much and they even accommodated me with a slightly different set-up bc I have other medical conditions that make it so I can't use traditional hyperbaric oxygen chambers. Everyone is also very kind and friendly. I can't recommend them highly enough! No matter what you need, they'll be able to figure it out and make you feel better! Alex is absolutely amazing! She is wonderful with scheduling and so kind. My dad has Parkinsons and I wanted to find alternative methods for treatment. My cat has cancer and he gets bi weekly hyperbaric treatments as treatment . Being very active, I also have been wanting to try hyperbaric myself for a long time but couldn't find a place nearby. I'm so happy that one of my clients recommended this place! One session has made a notable difference in my dad's movements. I went in to have an oxygen treatment before going to 6,000' altitude near Albuquerque. After traveling there for many years, and frequently getting altitude sickness, I was so pleased & surprised when people around me displayed signs -- but I didn't. Alex is told me exactly what was going to happen and what to expect, which was comforting -- getting into one of those big chambers is weird! But surprisingly comfortable, and it's easy for me to read for an hour. The space is so beautiful. I love the airy openness, and all the plants! And of course the massage chairs for afterward. I just had surgery two weeks ago and the pain was unbearable. I didn't want to keep using pain-killers and got a recommendation from my out-of-state doctor and my doctor's patients I met on a forum to try Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments. I stumbled upon Holistic Hyperbarics after calling all the other Hyperbaric treatment centers in the Bay Area and my choice was an easy one. Not only was the treatment significantly cheaper ($160 vs $350+), but Alex seemed the most knowledgeable and caring. Her calming and confident presence on the phone reassured me that I was making the right choice, and I booked the next available appointment. When I came into the office, I was expecting a surgical-type atmosphere but was pleasantly surprised to find a tranquil and calm space. Alex and Elijah were both very friendly, attentive, and calmly walked me through the process so I knew what to expect. The details and thoughtfulness of the space and instructions were impeccable. You could tell Alex put a lot of thought into what people wanted and needed when creating her business to make her clients feel comfortable and secure. Before I got into the pod (which reminded me of a fancy tanning booth minus the harmful radiation with a plush mattress, blanket, and pillows), my ace bandages hurt from the inflammation I got from my 6-hour flight the day before, I had fluid build-up around the surgical area/shooting pains, and it hurt to breathe. Just after one 90-minute session, I felt like a new person. The inflammation decreased significantly (my bandages were visibly looser than when I had arrived), I could feel that there was less fluid in the surgical area, I breathed better, and the pain decreased by 90%! Since my first experience, I've come in 2 more times and each time I feel much stronger. I feel like I found the secret to hacking my healing process! It makes sense logically as bodies need oxygen to carry out certain functions to heal and this is a way to do this more effectively! On top of the fantastic results I experienced, what keeps me coming back is Alex and the experience itself! She is highly versed in this space as a former EMT which puts me at ease. And the session always ends with vitamins, water, and hot towels which is something I look forward to at the end. The time always passes quickly, feeling like it's only been 20 minutes, and it's an excellent time to catch up on reading or take the most luxurious nap! I plan to come back regularly even after my healing is done to make sure my body is operating at peak performance and because the way it makes my brain feel.
