I can say the injury was not only the source of intense pain for me but also taught me to be patient as well as serving up a healthy dose of humility! The therapists that worked with me provided not only the health and physical support I needed but also counselled/advised me with long term exercises that will assist me for the years to come. I regained 80% of mobility and most of my strength back in my dominant shoulder/arm when the initial assessment was hopeful for a 50% return in mobility. I will forever be grateful for the therapists who helped me recover and am now able to lead a life with very few limitations! My experience with Ortho Virginia was very positive.

After not hearing from them in a week I called and asked the status of my injection. I was told Humana had not authorized the shot. Boldly I asked them the reference number on the order and called up Humana to see why the shot had not been approved. I talked to a Humana pharmacist and was told they do not require prior authorization for my injection. I called Ortho back and the surgical med nurse told me share would check to see if it was there. Then called me back. Waited all day. Abby never called me back. Before closing called back, Destiny patched me to Abby. Abby said she never called me back b/c she couldn't find out if the injection was actually there. This time she promised me she'd call me back. It's been 11 days since my initial appointment. My knee, guess, still hurts, and I can't even find out if my injection has been ordered. I asked them once why they couldn't keep the injections in stock. Durolane. I was told it was an expensive injection and the shelf life was very short . I looked that up and found out the shelf life is 2 years. Don't tell me they have 6 doctors who see up to 50 patients a day, and they can't find another patient to give a Durolane injection to. Within a 2 year period. You call over there and an A I Bot takes over. I've been put on hold for over 30 minutes 3 times. Bottom line it's going on almost two weeks and they can't tell me anything. I was patched through to the fourth person once, and still didnt get answers. If you talked to for example Lori, and then request Lori again, you get put on hold and then you will wait 30 minutes, if you then opt to leave Lori a message, you get an answering machine saying that your return call would come in 24 to 48 hours. So already you are pushed out another 1 or 2 days. I completely see why they receive an average of 2 stars but I can't go that high. My experience has been one star.

I went in to pick them up and one of the receptionists (far right) claimed she called and left a message. Funny to find out I pulled my verizon call history and had no missed calls from them, although she insisted she did it. Turns out the system lost my x-rays so they were willing to work with me and scanned me again. When I went back into the room they had me marked down as my right foot although I've never had issues with the right and when I went, my left was the only one evaluated. They did the scans and told me to wait back in the waiting area. The entire time I was waiting, the same receptionist was making sly comments about it being my right foot and that it even said that in the chart. I'd understand if my right foot was affected in the past but it's always been my left so that must've been the nurse/Drs mistake which is a common mistake when charting notes. I tried to stay friendly and even told them to have a nice day when they handed over the disc and the receptionist just said "uh huh" as I said it. I honestly don't know how she is staffed at the face of the office. She is very unprofessional and unpleasant. Definitely doesn't have patient care in mind. Will never go back there and will steer people away. It doesn't take much to just be a nice person.

Surgery was in May. I called office and the nurse told me that it wouldn't have anything to do with my surgery and I would need to go to urgent care. I asked is it dangerous and she stated well I can't tell you that only urgent care can inform you . So I asked again so this wouldn't be a follow up to my surgery because I have had problems since I had it done and she states no. The office has screwed up 3 appointments of mine as well. I showed up for an appointment and first they say or you have no appointment today and I said yes today is pre- op appointment and the front desk tells me well Dr. Farmer is off today so you can see PA. I should of realized then not to go forward with surgery . Even though my knee was killing me and I had a torn meniscus (which wasn't fixed during surgery , PA stated they didn't need to as it wasn't in the way with my knee), my knee cracks, grinds and pops when I try to bend it and I can't get past 50 degrees. The office won't assist you in getting an appointment and urgent care isn't that great either . First time I went to there I was told nothing was wrong with my knee. Even though my knee popped very loud and I dropped to the ground . I'm very disappointed over this whole ordeal. Depressed is a under statement .. don't go to this office . Dr Farmer did a manipulation and knee works wonderful . I informed Dr Farmer of all my concerns and he addressed all of them and everything was fixed !! Thank you Dr Farmer. I should of been more informative with you in the begging and expressed issues that arises.

I had the unfortunate experience of having Charles Zelen as a surgeon a few years ago and almost…read morelost my whole left foot. All I had was planters fasciitis but when I came out of surgery he had cut up my tendons and ligaments and sewed my foot back up like that. I spent two years in horrible pain and he had me so jacked up on high doses of hydrocodone it wasn't funny. After nine months of trying to work and walk another foot surgeon saw me trying to walk had me come see him and told me I had a failed surgery. This Dr had to correct the surgery that Zelen had done all the while telling me that he corrects all of Zellen's screw ups . I had to have extensive surgery to shift my heel back over three inches with a screw in my heel and had to have all of my ligaments and tendons repaired. I do not recommend this Dr to anyone who wants to walk properly. I guess he thought a kiss on the cheek every time was going to keep me from telling this horrid experience but take heed. He is less than desirable as a surgeon. That's my experience.
