Service department is incompetent Brought my 23 C8 Corvette HTC (hard top convertible). Here for a problem with the top not lowering correctly it had a loose bolt. After I get it back it has another problem the top will not show secure when down and limits speed to 58mph when the top is down. So back again and the tech who obviously needs more training screws my car up so bad that now the top will not lower at all and has basically turned it into a coupe. Wanted to know if he could take the entire interior out of the car so that he could manually lower the roof to try to fix this!! The additional idiotic problem he caused. I said absolutely not give me my car and will take it somewhere they actually have a REAL C8 Corvette tech. WORST SERVICE avoid like the plague!!! read more

Our mechanic was not able to find the problem with our 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. He reached out to John Jones to help find the issue. YES, I paid about $400 for John Jones to hold the problem in their hands and put it back on. Two coils were very obviously bad to a non-mechanic. Them they put it in writing what they did. I have the printout they gave, photos of coil, and have the coil. They deny everything and not ownership of their faults. read more

I had a shop mess up a clutch master cylinder on my old trusty 91 S15 So I called J J here I talked to some dizzy sounding gal So i asked to talk to a service manager that had some mechanical knowledge well that upset the gal she then replied they do not work on old trucks In other words if they cannot see what is wrong on the OBD diagnostic they are clueless that is typical with mechanics now days they are not real mechanics they are parts replacers that cannot figure things out like in days past . I can see why they have so many negative reviews . sad thing I Am a mechanic worked on semi trucks and constriction equipment and metal fab all my life but bad health has stopped me from doing most of my own work . read more

my bracket on my driver side seat broke. It took them three weeks to fix it, it broke again. It has took them another three weeks before I have an appointment to fix it, my car is still under warranty. They have the worst service that I've ever seen he is rude doesn't care about his customers, he told me that if it broke again that he would not fix it under warranty that I would have to pay I stated no I will not. My car is under warranty and he needs to fix whatever is wrong with my car. I will never ever buy another car from John Jones again I will go somewhere else, because they don't really care about their customers at all. It is a wonder there even in business. read more

We have had an AWFUL experience with John Jones Auto in Corydon! We bought a 2016 Tahoe at the end of December, we knew that some tahoes had transmission issues so it was the first thing we asked about. They said they had recently fixed this transmission gave us a warranty on the transmission, the guy in the service department told us we would have no issues with it he explained to us what they did. We have now started having transmission issues we have drove it less then 5,000 miles since we got it and only had it 3 months. We took it there today, they told us we would need to replace the transmission, they would not stand by their warranty or the work they did. We were told we bought a used car and it's our problem. I would recommend to not use the service department and DONT buy a used car from them. read more

After a diagnostic was on my car today, Jaelin sat with me and explained what they could do for me. My total cost was $714, and John Jones is going to cover $600 of that cost, which leaves me extremely satisfied on how this got resolved, the service advisor Lindsey kept me every updated today on everything and was very apologetic about what happened at my last appointment. Overall I'm extremely pleased and satisfied with the way Jaelin and John Jones resolved this. I will continue to buy my vechile's from them as I can now see they do care about what there customer thinks. Thank you Jaelin and Lindsey for the wonderful service!!! read more

I have had several really bad experiences at John Jones Auto. They have very high prices and I even had a salesman tell me a car they had advertised on line was actually $3,000 more than their advertisement when I went to buy it. The service department is very poor. They struggle to even do simple things and they screw up a lot and they just keep charging you more $$. This is not a reliable honest dealership. John Jones has the attitude you are there for them to take your money, you are only a dollar sign to them. They are other much better dealers than these crooks ... keep looking these guys are trouble. read more

ABSOLUTELY NO MOTIVATION!! PERHAPS THE ISSUE ENTIRELY IS INCENTIVE!! Yes I am saying it - make them work for it, sing for their food! I have Never in Life walked into a Car lot (of course I wasn't buying but my bestie was) I went along to check out the vehicle, and to assist with the selection. We walked in the door, she was very excited to be buying her own vehicle separate from her husband, Yes they're still married, happy, la-la she's just building herself up, but - $5000 deposit and 2 Family income's- very comfortable. But, hubby wasn't there, and she wants Succeed against all odds, she was essentially ignored, after wasting almost 1.50 hour's we finally were given the vehicle for a test drive. Literally, enough gas in the car to Drive 20 MILES ,, - What in the name if all that is of any show of Compassion, who are we kidding they didn't give a Damn - then the guy says I'm swamped, I'm going to need you to come back another day - how about tomorrow - I just have too many customers.. Within 3 months of buying a "certified" passed car at this location, the engine went out. First at home oil change and metal shavings were found in the oil. It was obvious that it had been an ongoing issue before purchasing from this dealership. Sems they just slapped a sticker in the wieldshield saying certified and made it someone else's problem. When contacting the general manager, he was going to look if there was a warranty on some kind of additive they used when they originally inspected the vehicle and changed oil before purchase...didn't receive that follow up call however. We ended up calling the dealership a week after no return call and spoke to the service manager whom was able to look up and give us the answer to that within 5 minutes. I wish I would have stuck with the dealership we have went to for years because at this one, you are just a number passing thru. read more

Corydon John Jones had my van for almost 2 days and nothing was done as I took it the same day as I was kick out from the maintenance by Creg Dennison as he told me to take the van somewhere else as I was asking why they didn't check what was wrong? Purchased a 2018 Jeep Renegade. Several days after having vehicle ac would not get cold. They did right thing by having us take it to John Jones to "fix" the ac. It was topped off with Freon. Just several days later same issue happened with ac. Once again- we returned the vehicle to John Jones in Corydon. Apparently, they topped the freon off again. Told us it was fixed and we moved on. (under warranty at this point) Didnt use ac much longer after that as weather cooled off. Fast forward to this summer- and you guessed it...ac blowing hot air. We called John Jones who said they did dye test and we didnt bring it back- not true. And then said they were told by Anthony's Auto Mall to just top it off with coolant only. Anthony's denies telling John Jones that. Soo- who knows what is true. We took car to another repair shop today and he said there was no way a dye test was done bc the leak was very fast and large. Anthony's says John Jones should stand behind their work. John Jones said they would if we bought the car from them and they did what Anthony's requested as a repair...but apparently a bandaid was put on the issue and neither place will fix what was broken from day 1 when the issue was brought to their attention. read more

The check engine light illuminated on my truck, I had On-Star do a diagnostic, and also obtained the code using an analyzer. Both On-Star and the analyzer code indicated a glow plug issue on cylinder 3, so I called the service department to inquire regarding repair and possible warranty / program coverage. I was immediately told there was no warranty or program coverage for the issue, I would need to bring my vehicle in for them to diagnose the problem (for a charge), and the repairs would also be chargeable. 2 minutes of research on the internet by me immediately identified a recall / program issue covered by Chevy under warranty and repairs should cost me nothing. I had to get the sales representative, Brad Montgomery, I normally work with (who is excellent, listens, and is VERY customer service oriented) involved and he facilitated getting the service department to acknowledge their error and that the repair would actually cost nothing. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had this type of experience with the service department. It has happened numerous times. The Sales side of the business is EXCELLENT, while the service side is costing them repeat customers. This is unfortunate. Once I got the vehicle in for repairs, they were completed expeditiously and the department even delivered my vehicle back to me, as I was recovering from back surgery and unable to drive at that time. So, that aspect was positive, hence the 2 star rating. But the headache before that was unnecessary and certainly unacceptable. There seems to be a significant lack of understanding what exceptional, or even good, customer service means in the Chevy service department at Corydon from the top down. read more

Bought a truck and wanted to establish all routine maintenance as up to date. I personally had already changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, CCV filter, and cleaned and serviced the EGR. So I had the dealership change the transmission filter and fluid. Coolant flushed and replaced. One TPS sensor replaced. Also had new key fobs (2) that needed programmed and keys cut. When my vehicle was ready, I paid, and then got in. Thought I would use one of my new key fobs, and then thought I better check to make sure they cut the key. They didn't. So I took it back to the service writer. He promptly left to get the keys cut. So while waiting, I thought I would check the other work they performed. When I slid underneath the truck, the cross member behind the transmission was dripping with transmission fluid. I slid my hand across it and stood up, asked if I could get a rag or a towel and why wasn't my under carriage cleaned up after the work that was done. My service writer was not immediately there, but there was no less than 3 other service persons who heard me and they all tried to evaporate. While they failed at evaporating, they must of all had laryngitis, as no one offered any explanation, rag, towel, or assistance of any kind. A young lady in a service type of uniform, came across the vehicle bay to ask what the problem was and then took the truck to get it cleaned up. While waiting for my truck to return, I was given back my newly cut keys. When my truck returned, I tested each newly cut key to see if they worked. 1 out of 2 ain't bad? I called over the service writer again and had him try it. The key still didn't work. He offered some lame excuse about the key cutter being an automated one, and sometimes it just doesn't work right. And then I asked him why I had to continuously do his job, and check their work. While he scrambled away, I checked my vehicles coolant, and the function of the replaced tire pressure sensor. Both appear to be acceptable, as well as the actual filter and fluid change on the transmission, sans the mess not cleaned up. I drove an hour to try this dealership. There is a dealership much closer to me, with a lousy reputation. While buying the Mopar Factory Parts at that dealership, I was able to witness firsthand the lousy reputation, that was still in fact, solidly lousy. That's why I thought I'd give J.J. a try. Maybe it's just Dodge. I have an Infiniti that is older than the truck I just bought. Yet, when I take my Infiniti to the dealership, I'm given a brand new loaner car, my vehicle is washed outside and cleaned inside. And the work has always been impeccable. While waiting for my key to be cut the second time, an older couple came into the service area and asked if they could find anybody from the service department at the J.J. Chevrolet next door. The service writer said that they were in the wrong service area. (no duh) To which they replied, "We know that. We've been waiting for at least 20 minutes, and can't find a single person." Maybe it's not just Dodge, but John Jones. I won't be back. read more
