I am completely baffled why you give someone an appt to diagnose a problem and you wait until 430 on Friday to look at it. Then YOU made the decision that I didn't need my truck that night, or even the next morning, didn't find out because you called I ALLED YOU AT 615 For you to tell me it was looked at but you wouldn't do the estimate until the next day. Oh but wait, you call me at 1130 AM with your estimate, can't get parts until Monday, and lock the gate at 1300 not allowing me enough time to pickup or access my vehicle. So now a Friday appt has left me without transportation for an entire weekend. That is straight up bullshit!!! NEVER AGAIN DREW, this is on you!! read more

They work with your budget by prioritizing necessity and are really caring. They are very knowledgable too, and make sure they explain exactly what's being done to your vehicle and why. The mechanics even work around your schedule to make your visit a "once in a lifetime" experience. You can't find this kind of service anywhere else. I really like that the waiting area and facilities are so clean and spacious. Not what you would expect from an auto repair shop. Nice cold waiting area, filtered water machine... The first time I went to John Herbeck's Auto Repair, I was having a problem with my wife's Saturn. It needed a part no longer manufactured. I looked up Angie's List and found them. I normally find it difficult to hand over my car keys to any auto mechanic, I've seen other shops come up with so many inexistent problems, fake repairs, overinflated parts costs, etc. This is not the case with John Herbeck's. It's owner, Drew, is knowledgeable, friendly, and an honest man almost to a fault. I have asked for something I thought and was convinced that needed to be repaired and he straight out told me I didn't need it, that all I needed was a 50 cent clip that had fallen off. To keep a long story short, after searching all over the place, online, aftermarket stores, junk yards, etc.... the part was unavailable and her perfectly, well kept Saturn that looks like new and had nothing else wrong but a plastic part that broke...was unusable. THEY MADE THE PART for us and didn't bankrupt us in the process. Since then, I've been a customer for over 3 years, I have to travel 60 miles to get there and every time I've walked out happy. In the past I used to do the oil changes in Jiffy Lube which was closer to my house... What a rip-off. Every time I went it was something that converted a $30 oil change into a $450+ repair. Found this establishment via a local newspaper and have been going here ever since for ALL my car repairs and maintenance. I have been going here for a year or more now. Manager Drew and I first had a phone conversation and then I went and met him in person and he evaluated my car at that point. Drew knows his stuff and he keeps his staff accountable. VERY IMPRESSIVE. Regarding diagnosis, I purposely have taken my car to 2-3 places for the same matter and been told it needed much more than it really needed. Even the price I was quoted and actually paid at one place was double what John Herbeck's pricing would have been. This is a no nonsense review. When I crunch the numbers, then simply put - according to the invoice, they charge $84.83 per hour for labor. The staff are always reachable by phone. The repairs to my vehicle were top notch so I have no doubts about their skills. Concerning the subtotal on the invoice - it's a coincidence that the last digits were 99.99 which they rounded off to 00.00 after taxes when multiplied by 6% Florida tax. So it is likely that the numbers were manipulated - this is a common practice. Since I cannot find any prices on the part numbers on the invoice when searching on the internet then it is unknown whether the numbers on invoice were changed to save me money or to give themselves more money. They were courteous. In addition to washing my car (which they advertise on their website) they also gave it a wax - that and much more according to the invoice. When I called to mention that my car also needed an oil change, they threw that in for free which suggests that they did overcharge me for the repairs or, that they were just being nice. But I am merely stating the facts as best as I know them. You must be the judge to interpret these facts. What did happen is that they responded when I said that since I was paying a lot of money, that they should do this and that and that is when they responded with the courtesy I mentioned. Would I go back? Only if I have a lot of money or I get a car that is cheaper to repair or if the problem on my car is cheaper to repair. Do I suggest that you go there? Read the facts in this review. This review is only four stars instead of five. The reason being that they did not present any justification for what they charged me and that those part numbers on the invoice can't be found on the internet. I am the kind of man who likes the people I do business with to give me information when I spend money. I am counting on the fact that if by any chance I need them again, that the courtesy will resurface. When dealing with businesses that charge higher prices, you get better quality work. If you want low quality unreliable work then go get your car repaired somewhere else. You get what you pay for. When I gave the car them, I thought my car was going to kill me. I was scared. Went there to change my two front tires and check a noise from the front left wheel...The company was very professional, gave me a quote for the tires by phone. Within 30 minutes I had everything done tire change, wheel balance, and new valve stems not counting that the noise was also fixed. Highly recommended, and on top it's a family business. read more
