So my son's father in law told me about Jim's Automotive, and it happens to be down the street from my job. I called and made an appointment. I spoke to Cameron ( I hope I spelled his name correctly). I made an appointment. When my truck was ready, everything was repaired. I went to Jim's on the recommendation of my brother. My brother said Jim's does good work at a reasonable price. So I brought my wife's car there to determine what was wrong with the air conditioning. He diagnosed the problem and gave me a quote to do the job. Although it was higher than some of the quotes we received it was well within other quotes we received. We decided to wait a little longer to do the repair. Jim was understanding and didn't try to get us to do the job right away. Recently, my battery died and I needed to get it replaced. He sold me an Interstate battery and was able to get me in and out in about two hours. He was even able to do an oil change even though he was very busy that day. Honest men at work! I'm so glad we know about this place. These guys do such a good job. They explain everything, they break it down for you and the prices are reasonable. My mom has been coming here a long time so when we move here we needed a good mechanic after getting too many run around from other places. I only wish I came to Jim first. We've had Fred and Cameron work on our car and they did a great job! When u walk into their office there are thank you cards everywhere from customers. They've even had to take some down due to the amount they were getting. Here, they're always busy so call ahead and make an appointment. But know that when they look at your car there's nothing rush about it. Very thorough and the best price around. Trust we learned the hard way by taking a chance on someone else before listening to my mom, only to regret it. Thankfully Jims auto got us back on the road the next day. I am new to the Pompano Beach area and my battery died on me just as I was leaving work. I needed an Interstate Battery dealer and Jim's Auto Repair populated on the Interstate website. I was greeted by Bob, the owner, who had already looked up my information, and walked right outside. He drove my car around to the side of his shop, and immediately began showing me the ropes. He tested my battery, showed me the voltage increasing on his tool, and we discussed why the battery was the issue. He grabbed a brand new battery off of the shelf, installed it, and had me driving off in less than 5 minutes. While heading to Ft Lauderdale from Michigan for Spring Break I noticed a slight rubbing noise coming from one of the wheels about a quarter of the way into the trip. The noise kept getting louder as we got closer to Florida. I knew I had to find a reputable shop to take care of the problem but I did not know of any myself. Jim's Auto Repair had several glowing reviews describing the amazing service and the lengths Bob (the owner) would go to to save his customers money and unneeded repairs. Add another glowing review! I explained my problem to Bob and they had my Volvo on the rack in minutes. They figured out the problem and I actually heard Bob on the phone looking for the best price on the part we needed! They replaced the wheel bearing and I asked them to do an alignment while they were at it. I had they car back that afternoon in perfect condition and payed less than I had expected! Went here when I needed a new starter after reading the great reviews. Both my dad and my brother own repair shops (in other states) so I always run pricing and stuff by them before I commit to things. This place was great, reasonably priced, quick, and super nice. Since I thought it was my starter but I wasn't totally sure, Jim offered to keep my old starter for a while and if I continued to have the same issues, he'd exchange the new one back and try to determine what was wrong (it was the starter). Great mechanic shop! My AC was going in and out, hot and cold air. After the dealership hosed me for $250 replacing the mixer motor that obviously didn't need replacing, and the problem was still there, I brought my car here. They diagnosed the problem as a bad relay, in about 10 minutes. Ordered the part and told me to stop by the next day. So I came in the next day, they replaced it in 15 minutes, and only charged me for the price of the part, to make me a long term customer. No doubt I'll only be coming here from now on. We were on our way home to Edgewater, Fl, near New Smyrna Beach from Miami.We came off the Florida Turnpike at Exit 67 to get some gas. Upon arriving in the gas station, another person advised us that there was a lot of fluid coming out the bottom of our vehicle. I opened the hood and saw coolant flowing out of the radiator in a steady strem. I asked him if he knew of any auto repair places. He advised me the Jim's Auto Repair was just up Hammondsville Road. It was 3:00 in the afternoon. We pulled in, with a trailer on the back of our vehicle. I went inside and spoke with Bob Robinson, the owner of the repair shop. He went the extra mile to get us going again. He pulled a mechanic off another job to tear apart the front of our vehicle to diagnose what had caused the radiator to leak. It turned out one of the twin cooling fans had disintegrated, punching a hole in the radiator. Bob got a new radiator, a new fan assemblym and had the car repaired and ready to go by 6:00. I was amazed by this fast service. Bob went that extra mile to get us back on our way again. He never saw us before and probably won't see us again (due to the distance between his shop and our home.) He could have just told us he could fix it the next day. But he didn't. He explained that he was just doing what he would expect others to do for him in the same situation. You don't find many like this any more.
