First I have to say the part needed for my Montero Sport 2001 is no longer made. Stephen and I hunted for a used ECU and mated immobilizer for three werks. After three trys the third was the winner. I must commend SoCalAutoParts91352 for finding a good working set. See them on Ebay for car electronic parts. With new and used parts installed my all around work horse is back on the road and the bill did not break the bank. Thank you Stephen for an outstanding job. Brought my Honda here about a year ago with a cracked block. About an hour after I dropped it off received a call that there was a recall on the engine and we towed it to Honda. Needless to say they could have just said nothing but showed integrity and honesty. This week after having trouble putting a starter in, I brought it over to Steve and needed some slight help. They jumped right on it, fixing it and barely charging me. This shop is amazing. I grew up in my dad's auto shop and remember the value of good customer service and friendly, honest work. Thank god. An honest mechanic. After a terrible terrible experience with multiple mechanics in Aventura (one who changed the full new space and left the flat to take advantage of my wife) moving to Coral Springs was a blessing for my cars. I went to Margate Auto 2 years ago and will never go anywhere else. Nadine and Steve (owners) never try to overcharge me or use an oil change as a chance to upsell what I don't need. Twice they diagnosed in issue in less then 5 minutes and didn't charge me. You can't find that kind of service in a mechanic anymore. Hopefully, they don't ever retire so I don't have to find a new mechanic. read more

Margate Auto Center is just the kind of car repair shop that I look for: a hole in the wall with parts and tools everywhere and dirt and grease all over everything. In other words, a place where people are more interested in fixing cars than separating people from their money. And I can honestly say that that is my experience with Steve and Nadine. I was new in town and putting a lot of miles on my car and wanted to have it checked out. My brother gave a strong recommendation for Steve and I can see why. I took my Toyota Corolla in and--because I had been experiencing a few more rattles and knocks than usual--fully expected that some repairs would be needed. Steve hooked it up to computer and gave it clean bill of health when he could have found something wrong and had a happily paying customer who was none the wiser. A few months later when I was involved in an accident the insurance company wanted to total my car. Steve looked it over and came up with a repair bill that was less than half of what the insurance company was telling me. The car had 258,000 miles on it so I went ahead and accepted the insurance company's total loss offer. Again, no charge from Steve. Once I'd found a replacement I took it to Steve, offering to pay for his evaluation of the engine. And, you guessed it, no charge. Where do you think I had my car towed when I got a flat tire and the donut spare shredded? I mentioned to Steve that I was going to replace the donut with a full size spare and guess what was in my trunk when I picked up the car? Steve had given me a full size wheel and used tirer at no charge. Who am I trusting my car (and my wallet) to the next time I need a car repair?
