Lala insisted I get a full new X-ray panel that I had to pay $200 for. And after an hour in the chair I asked if we'd be doing the cleaning. The dentist came in and told me I had 3 cavities and deep gum pockets and ultimately wouldn't do a cleaning and gave me a referral to a periodontist. That didn't feel right so I left. After posting a review about this experience the office manager called and offered to refund the amount of the X-rays, which I would have been reimbursed through my hsa anyway, to take down my review, which I agreed to, and which is why I give the two stars. I upgraded my insurance plan to the regular ppo plan and went to Montclair dental. X-rays were covered and after about 10 minutes the dentist came in and told me my teeth and gums both looked great. They did the cleaning and told me they'd see me in 6 months. I suspect the dentists under the USA plan have to find other ways to generate income, and highly recommend paying the higher premium for legitimate dentists where you will ultimately get better care and pay less in the end.
