Chris is such an amazing person! I got error code 15 on my Rinnai RUR199eN tankless water heater over the weekend, and thought I would not have hot water for a couple days. All the other plumbing companies said they were not available over the weekend and could schedule me for Monday at the earliest to do a diagnosis, then order any parts that would be needed, which would then take a few more days. Luckily, I called Chris and he truly is a Rinnai expert. He was able to tell me exactly what was wrong over the phone and said the issue is not that difficult for a somewhat handy person to fix. So, he sent me a couple of DIY YouTube videos of the issue, and he even texted me back when I asked him a question on the part that was causing the issue. Another 5 star review - and read through about a dozen first before posting this one. They all sound familiar, so at this point all I can say is that they're all consistent with my experience - which of course - was just great. Perhaps the only bit I can add is that Chris (at John Castro Plumbing, Chris is the son...) is that he's a Rinnai tankless expert and is in-the-know with the brand and the way they're designed. I called him when my 21yr old Rinnai 2532 from 2004 was on the brink. If you're not sure about Rinnai, don't hesitate. We didn't do any maintenance (even though we should have) and it kept chugging along for over 20 years - and it was an outside unit! At the time of this writing, tankless heaters are expensive. But with rebates, tax incentives and other coupon things, Chris helps you chip away the cost so that you're getting more bang for your money. He knows all the ins-and-outs to maximize all the incentives that are out there - and will take care of some of the rebate stuff for you. No, you didn't read that wrong. Add to that, he'll do the set up just they way you want - from wall positioning to operation mode to exhaust configuration. He configured up a neat re-circulation option so all the hot water pipes in our bathroom stay warm, getting nearly instant hot water at the sink, shower and bidet. Our unit was one that had this option, not all have it. Our new Rinnai is quiet, very performant and expect it may be the last unit we'll need - it may outlast our time in this house. I already knew the market price of potential water heater replacement as it was a project I have been dragging for the last 3 years. A friend recommended Chris. We had a Noritz tankless that had persistent problems for 8+ years. No plumber was ever able to fix it. Finally decided enough was enough and it's time to replace it. After chatting about our issues and needs, Chris Castro identified the best tankless for our situation. He is a fountain of knowledge, and we felt confident he'd solve our issues. Installation was fast and smooth! He included a custom recirculator that he designed himself, as well as a couple other items to help the machine function its best. He responded immediately. In case that last bit didn't entirely land, lemme' make it 100% clear: I texted at 11 FREAKIN' PM and he responded in real time. Just the best service, better than I've ever seen from a plumber. Ever.
