As for Duke as he was extremely helpful. On Thursday December 28, 2017 around noon, we returned to Empress Carpet Sales to purchase our 2nd rug. Duke not only remembered us as prior customers, he & his staff were once again knowledgeable & friendly. Pros: knowledgeable, friendly staff, great prices, lots of parking Cons: none, really! (Well, I guess they could offer free back massages). This place epitomizes customer service. Overall, our experience with the Empress Carpet Sales was positive. We were in & out within 30 minutes. Empress has a great selection of remnant carpets which can be edged as rugs. We have no complaints about Empress, and will return for all of our carpet needs. I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.

It was very old carpeting so a lot of the cushioning/padding that was underneath was stuck to the floor as well so they made sure all of that was scraped up without damaging the wooden flooring below. I just had to do some mild cleaning the following day to remove dark spots and they gave advice how to get that up. They did a excellent job! They cleaned up everything and took the carpet and scraps downstairs to the recycle area.

We didn't like that, but there was nothing we could do. We were told the crew would call us an hour before they arrive. We eventually got a call and were told they can't come and want to reschedule for Monday. That's not an option because we do not currently live at the residence and we work during the week. This is why we scheduled a Saturday and we even left the entire day open for them because they didn't know when exactly they would be coming. Then some sketchy guy with an unlisted number called us and said he was referred to us by John (no idea who that is). He said to reschedule the job with Barrys and this guy named Kevin would come and do the job for much cheaper today. He said definitely don't cancel the appointment - just reschedule. It was super weird, but we were desperate. In the end, no one showed up. Still don't know who Kevin or John are, but considering we only contacted one company about the floors, we are guessing someone from Barrys contacted them. This is just a terrible way to run a business.

I was referred to Carpet Factory Outlet by my former longtime doorman, and I'm glad I was. I've gotten good deals on 8 x 10 bound - edge nylon area rugs for $180, runners for $29, and wool pieces for a bit more. I know they have a nice installation, and high - end business side too, but don't overlook remnant carpet when you want to get a lot of bang for your buck, nor assume that "remnant" means "recycled", "used", or "leftover". They have some really nice pieces, and are a service - oriented, fair business. Once, I was overcharged $10, noticed the charge, and immediately contacted the company. WHILE ON VACATION, I received a prompt email from the owner / manager who said he would look into it, and promptly offered a refund - no hassle. Come often, and be prepared to spend some time (sometimes hours, or months) browsing for "the one" if you're picky like me. They take Visa / MasterCard, but no Amex, and promptly close at 5 PM, but other than that, this little modest store is a hit.
