Didn't even get to use their services because they were that bad with scheduling. The way they run their business is terrible. We were scheduled for a Saturday, but had to call the Friday before to find out what time. We were informed that it would be around 1-3 PM because the crew wants to do another job before ours. We didn't like that, but there was nothing we could do. We were told the crew would call us an hour before they arrive. We eventually got a call and were told they can't come and want to reschedule for Monday. That's not an option because we do not currently live at the residence and we work during the week. This is why we scheduled a Saturday and we even left the entire day open for them because they didn't know when exactly they would be coming. Then some sketchy guy with an unlisted number called us and said he was referred to us by John (no idea who that is). He said to reschedule the job with Barrys and this guy named Kevin would come and do the job for much cheaper today. He said definitely don't cancel the appointment - just reschedule. It was super weird, but we were desperate. In the end, no one showed up. Still don't know who Kevin or John are, but considering we only contacted one company about the floors, we are guessing someone from Barrys contacted them. This is just a terrible way to run a business. read more

I have been coming to Barry's My Carpet for years because my mom has always used him. Over the many years I have found the prices to be good, great customer service , conveniently located and great variety. These are all wonderful aspects of a business but what I love most about this place is that you feel so welcomed from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave. It feels more like a place you want to stop by weekly. Barry so kindly and generously donated some carpet squares to my sons school so that they are able to sit comfortably while learning outside during these compromised Covid times. This place is great!!! read more

Barrys My Carpet - Carpet Store - Carpeting Near Me - Freeport, New York

I have been going to Barrys My Carpet since 1989 . Prior to meeting Barry, my husband and I purchased our first home. I went in to the store met the Owner Barry and I was so glad I did. He took his time going over the different types and the different costs of carpeting. The carpeting lasted me a good 20 years till I decided the color was so outdated, back to Barrys and once again the entire house was redone. Fast forward to 2021 time to get rid of the carpet and put flooring down, Yup back to Barrys. I am so glad to have met Barry, Karen, Justin and the entire crew at Barrys My Carpet. I would never go anywhere else. Their installers are hard working and extremely extremely immaculate. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. Beyond EXCEPTIONAL customer service, workmanship & value! read more

The best carpet installation we ever had..The workers arrived on time and were professional and did a great job..

AMAZING SERVICE!! I went to Barrys My Carpet with an idea of what I wanted and a tight deadline. We went, walked around, looked at samples, found what we liked and Barry essentially told us "No. If you have dogs and the room gets a lot of foot traffic it will get dirty quickly. This carpet in a darker color will hold up much better." We were hesitant, I don't know Barry from a hole in the wall and this is a big purchase that can't be returned. The more we looked at the sample the more it grew on us and finally after much deliberation, we said OK. The carpet was installed that same day (fairly unusual) and I must admit, he was right, it looks great!! Its soft, durable, and beautiful! I will be going to Barry for all of my carpet needs in the future!! read more

The store was multiple verity of floor materials. I was looking for an area rug. Other stores with less options gave 4 days to cut custom rugs. Barry's could do the work the next day. read more

Communication from the first phone call to arrival was superb! Family owned business ( where I like my money to go) that's been around for a long time. The 3 employees know there stuff. They were very quick to answer our questions and narrow down selection for quicker decision to be made. Definitely what I, A new carpet buyer needed at the time. There estimate with installation wasn't exact but in my experience, no contractor is. The job itself took much longer then we thought. We figured a few hours these guys should be in and out but it was basically a full days work. Quality and quantity was great. We have a few tacks we feel on the edging but maybe that's normal. Pricing seemed fair. We didn't actually Check around bc they did a great job selling to us read more

Terrible. Marbella was a MESS. Poor carpet installers sure earned their $250 i was charged to install new carport but I'm sure they are making maybe 20% of that. I had to keep calling and Marbella blames ME instead of taking responsibility for her sloppy job- which I could tell after 2 weeks I'd not recovering a. Call was going to be sloppy. read more

What a great experience. Barry, Karen and Justin are the best. They coordinated with my contractor so there was no down time between my kitchen renovation and floor installation. Barry installed floating floor in my home basement over 70 year old chipped tile floor but failed to inform me that after the installation my floors would squeak and give the sensation of walking on air bubbles. The problem he explained was that my basement floors were uneven and he didn't think I would want to have that corrected since I was on a budget. Therefore, he stated that in order to get the sale he omitted that information and failed to offer me the option to cancel the job or pay more to correct the problem. As a result, after the installation was completed I complained about his unsatisfactory work. To fix the problem I was told I would now have to pay an additional $3,000 to remove the floor and level the basement with thin-set to receive a proper installation. I felt cheated but I agreed to pay an additional $1000 to correct the problem that was not explained to me prior to installation. He has returned several of my phone calls but refused to accept the mistake his business has made and continues to ask for $3k in addition to the $5700 already paid to him in cash. Omission of information and failure to explain the options that could be implemented to receive a great floor installation is bad business. I am waiting for my floors to be fixed and plan to contact BBB and pursue legal counsel. read more

We were extremely happy with the entire process from visiting the showroom to completion of the installation. Barry had a large selection at many price points. Barry came out the same day to measure and installation was done quickly. The installers worked very hard, very professional. I was so pleased with the process that my husband couldn't believe how fast I gave the order. This is the place to get your carpet, simple ! read more

I had to get a carpet runner for my hallway trimmed a bit and found this great place on Yelp. They are so helpful and sweet and had my stuff ready the next day. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants great service from lovely people. It's hard to find these days. read more

Barry was awesome! He had exactly the carpet that I needed for my basement steps and I'm definitely going back for my future needs!

My brother has developed allergies to dust mites so we needed to remove the carpets in our entire home and redo the hard wood flooring. Barry quoted me a great price that included the rug removal. They cut and wrapped the rug for easy disposal and secured any loose wires before sanding which I thought was great. The workers were polite, efficient and communicative. Upon removal of one of the carpets we found what appeared to be some kind of glue on the wood. For a few hundred dollars more they worked an extra 4 hours to restore the wood flooring. It came out great. We had an extra coat of polyurethane applied (1 sealant 3 poly) and the floors look marvelous. I recommend them 100% read more

This is the second time I have purchased flooring from Barrys. The first time, they installed flooring in my basement. They did a very nice job with the installation, and the floor is holding up well. Last month, I went back and got flooring for the entire first floor of my home. I am beyond pleased with the way it looks. The installers were professional and friendly. They worked hard to ensure that I was pleased with everything they did. The floor looks beautiful, and it makes my home look spectacular. I will use Barrys again when I'm ready to renovate the top floor. read more

Had a great experience with them years ago when they put down a rug in a small bedroom. Business hours said opens at 10:15. Five minutes later I pull away. Second small business to not open on time today. I prefer to do business with the smaller places but my time is valuable too. read more

In reference to your reply. It appears that the only products that don't carry storage charges and delivery fees to your office are those that you carry. So, I have to buy only those products that reside in your office, instead of flooring that I want. Great way to manipulate the customer. Your competition are happy that your loss is their gain. read more

Barry and his wife Karen are awesome sauce! #familybusiness Don't let his hilarious banter and bragging about his good looks fool ya... OUR FLOORS ARE IMPECCABLE! We had some crazy tile and hardwood combo inherited by my parents who passed away and hadn't renovated since the 80's! ‍ We were going with Empire and they had absolutely no idea what they were doing so we stopped the contract. We found Barry on a Google search and we am SO HAPPPY I WENT WITH THEM! Ironically as a child I grew up in the neighborhood and I recalled passing this business in the car since forever so it was meant to be! I Their skill and professionalism are bar none and I have no complaints! Thanks a million! read more

Barrys My Carpet - Grey awesomeness! - Carpeting Near Me - Freeport, New York

This is by far the best flooring place on long island. The family was extremely nice and helpful. The vinyl and carpet flooring they installed was perfectly done. I had a lot of unleveled parts of the floor. They leveled everything out perfectly and they cleaned before they left. Best of all the price was by far the best i found (had 6 other quotes). Justin and his team came and went, besides letting them in i would of never known they were there. read more

I worked for Barry over 20 years ago. This guy has been hooking people up all over New york for a long freakin time. He taught me a trade and how to be an honest business man. He always took care of his customers and delivered what he promised. At the time i worked there I had know way of knowing what a great guy he was or how good My Carpet really was. I did not have alot of other experience. Fast forward 23 years later. I own 2 businesses and reflect back on my time at My Carpet often. Yelpers, if you need flooring in your house take the time to go to My Carpet in Valley Stream and meet Barry. You will not be disappointed. We visited Barry's based on the other Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. Barry and his wife are both truly lovely and very professional. Barry is very friendly and joked around quite a bit which was refreshing as other stores we visited barely spared time to give us basic details. We were looking for carpet for our basement and Barry gave us his honest opinion on what to go with. He even advised us on how to remove our existing tile floor and lent us a tool to aid in the removal. We were able to book our job within a few days and the installation went smoothly and took only a few hours. We would definitely recommend Barry to anyone and would use him again for any future jobs we may have. read more

First, I'd like to clarify that I did not use Barry's for carpet installation. I only had them remove carpet. They were very easy to book and were able to come a couple days after calling, which was great. At the time of the removal I thought everything had gone fine. However, upon closer inspection later on it showed that there were still many many staples left and nails sticking out of boards, especially in areas that required a little extra attention like the corners and stairs. Since they didn't seem to have the necessary attention to detail needed to refinish floors, I decided not use them for the rest of the job. read more

Nope. Based on positive reviews here, I called Barry's My Carpet to ask about stretching some carpet that is rippled in 2 rooms of my home. Spoke to a nice woman who took the message and said Barry would call me about the job. That was on a Monday. Having not heard back by Thursday, I called again. Same nice woman said : "he hasn't called you back yet?" and assured me she would remind him to do so, which he did, the following day, four days after my initial call. He suggested I send photos of the rooms by email. I did so. That was 2 weeks ago. I've heard nothing from Barry or anyone else at this business since. Really? This is a way to interact with potential customers? (Well, in my case, formerly potential customers. I will get someone to do the stretching who is interested in doing business with me.) I imagine the glowing reviews here are from Barry's Mom and other family members, maybe they get called back... SMH read more
