All would have been well if the owner did not insult me on the day of installation. The installer was OK but an attitude was noticeable when I informed him I would not pick up an extra piece of carpet that was needed because the owners guesstimate was off by a yard or two. Not my fault ‍ . I did pick the remnant up just to be rid of the whole situation. All in all, the area that was covered looks good; the bad experience takes away from the job. I heard about JFK Carpet from a friend of mine. She said she was so happy with them and when she showed me the picture of her carpet, it looked so plush and nice that I gave them a call immediately. Hamid was so nice over the phone and even nicer when I went to meet him in person. I immediately told him what color I was going for and he had a beautiful dark gray carpet that I chose. He took my deposit, and came down to my house for a quote. He was the most affordable I've heard of BY FAR so I booked it. The carpet looks beautiful and was installed quickly and efficiently. They did leave some scraps around after the job was done, but that's okay....that's the least of my worries LOL! I'd recommend them 100%. read more

We try and support local small businesses over big box stores that have taken over and this is our fourth carpet purchased and installed by JFK Carpet for a rental unit in Valley Stream. We walked in on a Sunday, needing the carpet to be installed on Tuesday and they were able to provide that super quick turnaround. There were two small stains on a remnant we purchased and the stairs had a carpet with a geometric pattern, which didn't line up evenly when installed (in all fairness, the house is almost 100 years old, the walls on the stairs probably aren't even and we should have thought through the pattern idea thoroughly before buying that type of carpet). I called the owner, Jim, and explained what happened (then e-mailed some photos). He came out THAT DAY - looked at it and was able to remove the stains (it had something to do with the way it was installed) and he had the stairs/landing/hall re-done so it looked even. Really great service and swift response. We really appreciate that he took the time to listen to our feedback and was able to rectify the situation in such a timely manner. Definitely will continue to use his services and highly recommend to other people. The pricing is very fair and the customer service is excellent. Definitely *NOT* the kind of treatment you'd get with Home Depot or Lowes. read more

Recently purchased carpet from this store. Put down a deposit and was told the carpet was in stock. I wanted my daughter to look at the carpet choice before the installation date. When my daughter went in to see the carpet the "salesman" stated no installation date was set, the carpet was not in stock and had not been ordered because it was not "approved" by my daughter yet. With new furniture being delivered the carpet needed to be in as scheduled. She selected a new carpet and was charged $75 extra. The Monday morning of the installation they arrived on time and the workers were courteous. Upon inspection of the work the carpet was filthy. They left behind all the mess and scraps of unused carpet. It looked like an old raggedy carpet. We had to get a carpet cleaner to shampoo a perfectly new carpet. The owner was not helpful when we called to complain. We will definitely never use them again. read more

I can't say enough about this store and Hamid! I went to Lowe's to look for a carpet for my daughter's bedroom and besides not having a great selection, not one person asked if we needed help. I then went to a local carpet store. They were really helpful and friendly but expensive. A friend recommended JFK Carpet so I immediately went there. They have gorgeous remnant carpets you can get quickly and at a great price and they have a big selection of gorgeous carpets at great prices that can be ordered and installed within a week. I went back a few weeks later and ordered a carpet for my son's room. With one bedroom I ordered a carpet and the other I found the perfect carpet in the remnant area. Both visits I dealt with Hamid who is extremely helpful and friendly. The price is amazing! Installers were professional and courteous. I wouldn't go anywhere else for carpet!
