After researching many closet companies and reading referrals from this site and others we decided to used Custom Closets Direct out of Freeport, NY. Best decision and money I've spent. We converted a small bedroom in our home into a walk in closet/dressing room. Ali M was our designer, she was amazing to work with and helped create and design the perfect room for us. It gave us the wardrobe closest space we needed, deep cabinets for storage, dresser drawers for more clothes. A bench to sit while you get dressed (with functioning deep drawers underneath) My husband's Cigar humidor was built in and a custom Wine rack as well. We went with a two tone finish. Black shaker panels and Candlelight for countertops tops and sides. The job was done quickly and the installers were excellent as well. The quality is beautiful. I would highly recommend Custom Closet Direct. read more

Excellent! I couldn't be happier! I worked with Ali Melsio. She was prompt for our appointment, kept me abreast on her drawings for my pantry closet. Pricing was great. The installers were also on time and cleaned everything up. If I could give more stars I would. If you're not sure on another company, call Custom Closets Direct! You will not be disappointed! I can't thank you enough for turning my dream, into my dream pantry! read more

Custom closets were amazing from the first phone call to the day it was installed. Debbie is a genius and found space in my 5 small closets. I have a split level home and if anyone knows those houses have crappy closets and storage. Debbie designed with my budget in mind and even gave me less expensive options. She draws it right in front of you and quotes you a price right then. The installers were so great. They were neat and protected the floors and cleaned up so well that you didn't know they were here. I would highly recommend them. read more

Ok experience- needed a minor adjustment made after install but was told I would be charged extra. Hard to know how far apart shelves are in a hand drawing shown at the consultation call. To not add in 2 small extra shelves after the fact to make it look right is just plain disappointing. This would probably cost the company under $10 dollars to make me happy, yet they try to upcharge. read more

We just today had two reach-in closets installed, and we are very pleased with the whole process. Debbie knows her stuff. She came to our house, examined what we had and quickly came up with the right plan at the right price. We set a date for the installation and it went as smoothly as possible. The two skilled installers cleaned up excellently when they were done. We recommend them without hesitation. read more

Debbie did an amazing job laying out a design based on our needs. Price was equal or less than competitors but the design gave us more value than the others. The office staff and installers were so pleasant to work with. Don't shop around... just call them! read more

Very impressed with the quality of the work and the follow-up. First, their pricing for my master bedroom closet was $1,300 less than a franchise closet company and another local firm that advertises. Next, the designer actually gave us more drawer space than one of the other firms even considered. We ended up also doing an office with them at the same time with the savings. What I really liked was the follow-up. Two shelves were missing the day of installation. They had them made and shipped next day to us. No charge. I was missing a few cutouts for cables in a cabinet. I called and they scheduled a return visit a few days later. Asked where to put the cable cutouts and they did it all in 15 minutes. No charge. I went with rounded edges on all of the units and it is worth every penny (vs paying more for recessed panels on doors and drawers.....they talked me into saving the money). We already referred them to two other families. read more

Absolutely the best decision I could have made is choosing this company. I found them through a referral and I can't express how thrilled I am with their work. Debbie the designer understood my vision and brought it to life. Their installers are clean, kind and efficient. Absolutely a great experience.. I converted my attic into a walk in closet/dressing room so as you can imagine the angled ceilings made this job tricky.. read more

Custom closets direct just installed installing closets in my walk-in. Very happy with the results. Tom was very knowlegeable amd patient, and did a great job designing the closets according to my needs. The installers were courteous and efficient. Will recommend! read more

Custom Closets Direct created and installed a wall to wall closet last month. I couldn't be happier! they did a superb job, were reasonably priced, were very professional and very responsive. I could not imagine using any other company and I highly recommend them. Our designed, Tom, was amazing. He was clearly very knowledgeable, listened to what our needs were, made excellent suggestions and ultimately designed a unit that met our every need. I was especially impressed by the fact that when we wanted to have something done that we thought would be a good idea, he researched it with his team and then came back to us to let us know that it would not be structurally sound and thus could not do that. He was willing to walk away from the job rather than do something that ultimately would not be good. To me and my husband, that showed how he was putting us first and he and the company would not simply do something that ultimately would not stand the test of time, just to get our business. How fortunate we were to have Tom work with us! read more

We renovated our home and needed 15 (plus) closets. We priced out multiple closet designers and installers. Not only did Custom Closets Direct come in at a very reasonable rate, the designs Debbie created for us were so personalized, specific and detail orientated that our decision was easy. While designing my closet, Debbie asked me the height of my tallest boot. While designing my work area, she requested the height of my tallest wrapping paper. She customized our closets for us - in a way that not only maximized the space but also created a balanced, harmonious and beautiful look and feel. She did not waste a single inch of space and was meticulous about ensuring that the designs she created were perfect for us. She is a stickler for exact measurements and symmetry- basically, perfection- all qualities you want when designing any closet. She's strategic, smart and fast. She designed our pantry to replicate features of the one she has in her own home. Our closets and built ins are impeccable - because of her thoughtful designs. Start early. It's likely that the soonest you could book an installation would be 6 weeks out. As far as the install is concerned, imagine a neat, fast, precise, highly organized, friendly and accommodating team of installers who continuously pay attention to detail. We were literally taken aback by how impressive the installation team was. People will ask us for years who did our closets - many already have - and it is with the upmost confidence that we recommend Debbie and Custom Closets Direct. Don't even bother shopping around. They are the real deal. read more

Custom closet direct just did our master bedroom closets and I have to say I either review really bad experience or outstanding. This was definitely one of the best experiences we had. Highly recommend! read more

We had a great experience with Custom Closets Direct, and Debbie, our designer. The whole experience from phone call, to design, to review, to install - took less than one week. Their price was the same as EasyClosets.com, but it included install and was a much higher quality product. Debbie took the drive to our house twice to make sure her master closet design was perfect for us and our space. She listened to everything we wanted, while making sure all the small details were thought through. The installers were courteous and kept the job site clean. They finished the job in less than a day. We are very happy with the final results and would recommend Custom Cabinets Direct, and especially Debbie!!!! read more

So far so good. Called and scheduled an appointment for the free in home consultation. Designer, Debbie, not only arrived on schedule but a few minutes early since she knew I was coming home on my lunch break to meet with her. She gave us her ideas on what we could do with our limited space and drew up a sketch. Liking what we saw, we gave her a deposit. Installation is scheduled for after the holidays. read more

Excellent company. Working with Maxine was a pleasure. She was professional, friendly, creative and helped design the perfect closet for us. We appreciated her quick responses to all our email questions. With respect to our appointments in our home, she was always on time. The installers were also on time, friendly and left our closet space immaculate. We highly highly recommend this company for custom closets. We will definitely use them and Maxine again for any future work. Sheri & Steve Rockville Centre New York read more

Not one negative thing to say about this company! Debbie was our sales person and she was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly how to lay out our closets. The installers were very neat and installed quickly. The day of my installation the van broke down and I was definitely a bit concerned that the job wouldn't get done but the office called to alert me and assured me I would still have my closets that day and the office updated me frequently on estimated arrival time to my house. I was very impressed by that as well. I will definitely recommend this company. read more
