After researching many closet companies and reading referrals from this site and others we decided to used Custom Closets Direct out of Freeport, NY. Best decision and money I've spent. We converted a small bedroom in our home into a walk in closet/dressing room. Ali M was our designer, she was amazing to work with and helped create and design the perfect room for us. It gave us the wardrobe closest space we needed, deep cabinets for storage, dresser drawers for more clothes. A bench to sit while you get dressed (with functioning deep drawers underneath) My husband's Cigar humidor was built in and a custom Wine rack as well. We went with a two tone finish. Black shaker panels and Candlelight for countertops tops and sides. The job was done quickly and the installers were excellent as well. The quality is beautiful. Custom closets were amazing from the first phone call to the day it was installed. Debbie is a genius and found space in my 5 small closets. I have a split level home and if anyone knows those houses have crappy closets and storage. Debbie designed with my budget in mind and even gave me less expensive options. She draws it right in front of you and quotes you a price right then. The installers were so great. They were neat and protected the floors and cleaned up so well that you didn't know they were here. Ok experience- needed a minor adjustment made after install but was told I would be charged extra. Hard to know how far apart shelves are in a hand drawing shown at the consultation call. To not add in 2 small extra shelves after the fact to make it look right is just plain disappointing. This would probably cost the company under $10 dollars to make me happy, yet they try to upcharge. read more

Very impressed with the quality of the work and the follow-up. First, their pricing for my master bedroom closet was $1,300 less than a franchise closet company and another local firm that advertises. Next, the designer actually gave us more drawer space than one of the other firms even considered. We ended up also doing an office with them at the same time with the savings. What I really liked was the follow-up. Two shelves were missing the day of installation. They had them made and shipped next day to us. No charge. I was missing a few cutouts for cables in a cabinet. I called and they scheduled a return visit a few days later. Asked where to put the cable cutouts and they did it all in 15 minutes. No charge. I went with rounded edges on all of the units and it is worth every penny (vs paying more for recessed panels on doors and drawers.....they talked me into saving the money). Custom Closets Direct created and installed a wall to wall closet last month. I couldn't be happier! they did a superb job, were reasonably priced, were very professional and very responsive. I could not imagine using any other company and I highly recommend them. Our designed, Tom, was amazing. He was clearly very knowledgeable, listened to what our needs were, made excellent suggestions and ultimately designed a unit that met our every need. I was especially impressed by the fact that when we wanted to have something done that we thought would be a good idea, he researched it with his team and then came back to us to let us know that it would not be structurally sound and thus could not do that. He was willing to walk away from the job rather than do something that ultimately would not be good. Their price was the same as EasyClosets.com, but it included install and was a much higher quality product. Not one negative thing to say about this company! Debbie was our sales person and she was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly how to lay out our closets. The installers were very neat and installed quickly. The day of my installation the van broke down and I was definitely a bit concerned that the job wouldn't get done but the office called to alert me and assured me I would still have my closets that day and the office updated me frequently on estimated arrival time to my house.
