The worst. Both the doctor and his office are stuck in some time warp. The medical equipment and care are antiquated and concerning. The doctor cannot communicate effectively and did nothing to solve my issue. I was astonished when he pulled out a bottle of acid that he admitted he has had for decades. What?! His treatment approach was unsanitary. I wont't even mention the advice he gave me to help treat myself because I'm considering filing a complaint with the medical board. He kept milking the return visits when none of his treatments were working. I finally had enough and went to another podiatrist that solved my foot issue in ONE visit! Stay far away from John Collet. Excellent old school doctor ! He's got really cool old school, cast aluminum manual chairs and such in the exam and treatment rooms. Some people, who aren't product designers or afficionados of excellent design only see them as old equipment... Being an engineer and product designer, I see them more as the equivalent of Herman Miller office furniture that's been used everyday and lovingly cared for ! The GRACEFUL crank mechanisms and EASILY adjusted head and foot rests show the patina of daily careful use, but the cushions and contact surfaces are new and clean. A Steam Punk fan would LOVE some of his equipment, but it's all REAL and the pinnacle of GRACEFUL mechanical engineering. I'm 6'4" and 240# and his treatment chair moved me up and down with a simple and apparently easy crank of a handle ! That's amazing to me ! I have to investigate that mechanism next time ! His office building is also a study in old school efficiency ! It's one of those post war fast construction building kits that were once very common in California. It's very "green" in old school ways - extremely minimal materials used for esthetics, it's all just functional. Yes, the walls and doors are thin and do not fully block all sounds, but the do muffle normal conversation for privacy. His office is new and old school. It works extremely efficiently in my experience ! It's not ALL on computer, but the important things are. He even still has a TYPEWRITER to quickly fill out paper forms ! Amazing sense of what ACTUALLY WORKS. OK, the office really does need a fresh coat of paint on the walls and doors, but he's got TWO more degrees, UCLA, BA in BACTERIOLOGY-Medical, and another degree IN BIOLOGY, so I trust that the current old paint job has absolutely nothing threatening ! As a doctor - he's talented and very gracefully with his various scalpels and callus Grinders toenail clippers toenail grinders Etc. I'll bet he's an excellent podiatric surgeon. He's also very caring and is careful to recommend the proper things for a diabetic like me. He's also kind to keep me and my wife informed on ongoing care required. He's also excellent at giving referrals to other excellent doctors when required. Call his office, he often answers the phone if he's available. Seems like he'd be an excellent person to work for. But I think he rarely needs one, and prefers to have his patients visit a quick radiology department where the x-rays will be read by a Radiologist as well. Reading X-Rays is really a very specialized skill, and having a Radiologist interpret them is a great idea. Also, X-Ray machines are definitely newer IS better, and the newest are fantastic and fantastically expensive too ! I'm glad he doesn't need to have several more patients a day just to pay for a rarely used X-Ray machine ! read more

We made an appt with another foot dr weeks ago, new place in the bottom floor of an old bank building. We arrived 15 mins early and sat for an hour after appt time...vibe never felt right. So we cancelled and left. Made a new appt with Dr. Collet, 2 weeks out, arrived 15 minutes early, receptionist was friendly, but was thrown off by the sterile waiting area, not feeling the vibe but then patient was seen on time and Dr. Collet was great...old school Dr, to the point. Thought we were just going to get an assessment but he was like let's do this minor surgery now. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable, right amount of banter, walked out bandaged on 2 big toes, great care instructions. Next day no pain, back to see him in 2 days. I just felt he was genuine, trusted his opinion and got straight down to business, fix the hangnail infected toes - done! read more

Dr. Collet and Gaby are awesome! Very professional and kind. I am seen with in 5 minutes of arriving. They return phone calls with in minutes and never make me feel rushed. It is also very comforting to know that I can reach them after hours if need be. (I just recently had a bunionectomy) Dr. Collet is straight forward and honest. Where do I begin. I started with taking my Dr. to Dr. College Sr., his Dad. Great podiatrist. As time went on I seen his dad once I believe before I started seeing Dr. John Collette Jr. Not sure? But he has been nothing be resource conservative in how to not have to go through surgery if possible or less evasive in office without anesthesia which is always easier on your body. His interaction with me was very poor. He was cold, careless, flippant, and rushed. He seemed very ill-prepared on both visits, seeming to read through my Xray and MRI report for the first time when he saw me. Gave no possible causes for my problem, and was unapologetic about having no solutions other than a simple orthotic... it was the first time I left a doctor's office angry and disconcerted. He left a bad taste in my mouth. Definitely getting a second opinion...and will not be seeing him again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would . I was referred by my pcp to this doctor to help me with my chronic ankle and foot pain . All he told me was that there was nothing we could do about it and that I had to just live with the pain for the rest of my life . Mind you I already had that injury for 7 years and the first doctor I went to also didn't even immobilize me after my injury . This doctor didn't even think of immobilizing me either . I had to get a third opinion and this doctor put me in a cast and now has me immobilized with a walking boot . So yes there was something you could do regards to my injury . How can a doctor tell someone who is in so much pain that ? Their job is to relieve the patient of as much pain as possible ! My injury is slowly getting better no thanks to him . read more

The front office receptionist was very rude. My appointment was at 11:15 and they asked me to arrive at 11:00am. I got there at 11:05 and the first words out of the receptionist mouth was "what is your last name...you are late." The didn't say hi or hello or how are you today. She just had an attitude. The doctor was unfriendly and had awful bedside manner. I eneded up walking out of the appointment because I was so appalled by the outdated facility and lack of cleanliness. The office had outdated machines, the drill bits for the toe nail wasn't disinfected, there was rust and toenail debris on the canisters of cotton. The bathroom smelled and was soooo dirty. So gross. I even took pictures and wish I could post them to save future patients from wasting their time and energy and a poor experience. read more

So far, the WORST customer/patient service I have EVER encountered. I was referred to this office by my primary care physician. My office specifically said, that this practice, after receiving my refferal, would call me, to set up an appointment or just send me an appointment sheet. A whole month went by and no one had contacted me. I went to see my primary physician, again and got the number of the practice I was referred to, this practice. When I called, the front desk person, by the name of "Gabriella", was very rude to me. She could not explain to me, why no one had bothered to contact me in a month, even though she said, that they had "had my referral for a while now" and had made rude snappy comments at me, but scheduled me, non the less, for an appointment in another two whole weeks. I sternly, but politely continued to try and see if there was a possibility for me to come in sooner and about who I would talk to, to resolve the issue, for this ridiculous wait. I am in a lot of pain and I told "Gabriella" that. This morning, the day of my long awaited appointment, I called the practice to make sure, that everything was fine and I wasn't mixing up my time, which was 3pm, only to find out that my appointment had been canceled. No one called me, to notify me. No one, told me why. No one bothered to explain anything to me at all! No one!!! I have been very patient and polite... more so, than the receptionist in this practice, clearly, deserves. This sort of behavior is unacceptable! Because of this, I have to continue, to endure immense amounts of pain and have to go through the process of getting another referral and a whole new appointment! All of that takes a long time!! It is incompetent work and flat out careless to the patients, to not let them tknow that someone, has canceled their appointment, for no explanatory reason, willy nilly without even a damn curtesy call!!! I have pain and hip issues!!! Time only makes them worse! The front desk lady was rude, insulted me, lied to me and wasted well over two weeks of my time! I don't know if the doctor is any good, I never got to meet him and the receptionist refuses and will not connect me to the office manager or the physician. read more

The doc is a very nice guy. He did his best but neuropathy is not yet reparable, mostly When I could not get any relief I an going to take the 60 mile drive to Cedars-sinai where the Rock Stars & Movie Stars go - there must be a reason. So I went in May 2015 and I had an excellent result of spinal surgery for a degenerative disc there last year With Dr. T. Kim! So happy. That hospital makes other hospitals (and I had to go to a few) look like tents in Viet Nam. I will see Dr. David Thordarson for my feet. If there is a way, he will have it... read more

I opted for surgery, which he himself performed (his being a surgeon was one reason I chose him initially).
