In Kelowna for four nights while the lovely K takes clients golfing and makes calls. Being retired, I am her driver and companion. Joey's is a place we know we'll get well cared for service-wise with food that is generally consistent, and a decor that is modern and sleek. It's a little on the pricey side, but welcome to British Columbia these days, and pretty much everywhere we go. We stopped here for lunch and had seared tuna salad bowl that were delicious. They have good menu options. They also served complimentary champagne. Went to Joey Kelowna for dinner during a large music festival in town. While most people were downtown, we were happy to escape the crowds and enjoy a quieter evening. The restaurant was more peaceful than usual, which was lovely. The food and drinks were fantastic as always. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our server, Anastasi, didn't smile once and didn't acknowledge my husband at all. She asked if we wanted drinks but only addressed the other people at the table. My husband literally had to ask her if he could please have a drink, to which she responded with a laugh. Throughout the meal, she walked past our table several times but never once checked in or asked how our food was. It felt like she was annoyed to be serving us at all. At the end of the meal, she told us she had to settle our bill because they were sending her home--even though we were still mid-drinks and conversation. She offered to move us to the bar, but we were comfortable where we were and likely would have stayed for another round or dessert. We decided to just ask for the check. When she brought the machine over, my husband had his wallet and card in hand, yet she handed the machine to me. So awkward. Best steaks ever. Cooked to a perfect medium rare. Not over seasoned but delicious. The crispy mashed potatoes are so different and delicious they melt in your mouth. They offered 50% off all bottled wine on Wednesday that we took advantage of and it went so well with our steak. We will be back! Service was excellent!! read more

Stopped in after golf for small bites and a glass of wine. We were greeted by a gal with the friendliest smile and most inviting personality, Hope! This was our first trip to Kelowna and so our first time at JOEY...we are so glad we stopped in! Attended in early April when in town for my daughter's U15A hockey provincials with entire team, coaches and parents. The staff performed extraordinarily in accommodating our large group. Service was very friendly, professional, efficient and timely. Cocktails were on point as was my 7 ounce filet with a skewer of prawns, asparagus and incredible deep fried egg roll style mashed potatoes. An incredible meal for about $58 plus drinks, tax and tip. Looks closed from the outside because of the dark glass but don't let that deceive you. The restaurant has plexiglass between tables and the booths are well spaced apart. Good selection of food choices. Our tuna poke bowls hit the spot but not too full. Enjoyed the food and the ambiance. read more

We celebrated my hubby's birthday at Joey's on Sat. Jul.22. From the time we walked in and were offered lovely glasses of bubbly the mood was set. We had excellent service from Noel who was very friendly, efficient and polite. He said he was in training but it did not show. Our food was delicious as was the bottle of B.C. Wine we had ordered. At the end of our meal, to our surprise, the manager came by to say Happy Birthday and offer a complimentary dessert. The evening was perfect but made even more special by the generous couple who were sitting across from us. They had paid our bill because of the birthday we were celebrating. This was absolutely the most touching gesture we have ever experienced. I wish I could thank them once again and do hope good karma comes their way. I have always avoided this restaurant, from the outside it looked fancy... overly expensive but in a weird generic way. I don't know why I thought that, but I finally tried it and boy was I wrong. Not only is JOEY very affordable, but extremely high quality with a luxury vibe. I've tried their spaghetti, which you can tell they make their own pasta... some of the best pasta I've ever had. Their Poke Bowls are incredible, sandwiches and burgers are also great. The cocktails are fairly priced as well. I had the Farmers Chopped Chicken Salad - Hourly roasted chicken, golden beets, fresh corn, emerald kale, avocado, almonds, aged white cheddar, and it was alright. Hardly any cheese, or chicken. When you advertise a chicken salad, it should have a good amount of chicken in it. The beets, while delicious, were basically quartered and served. I shouldn't need a knife to eat a salad. So we just tried to finish our 10 day tour of BC with a dinner at Joey Kelownas.. in Kelowna. We have had amazing meals all over BC.. we arrived at the restaurant at 9 pm and was given the choice of patio or dinning room. As it was very loud on the patio , my wife and special needs son decided on the dining room..we were served water and then was ignored for 15 mins.. multiple waiters and waitresses walked by...so we decided to leave. Being a chain the menu is pretty consistent with other Joey locations. What isn't is the service and we were treated very well. To me, a sign of good service is how they treat the elderly and the way our server treated my grandparents was spectacular. One of my grandparents has bad eye sight and uses a walker and the other a cane. The patience the staff had with the slower moving traffic and working around the walker really made my heart melt. As for the food, I had the Herb Crushed Salmon with crispy mash which was really good. The mash was inside a spring roll. It was different in a good way. I also had the chocolate cake and can't complain about that at all. It was way too good! When I'm back up in Kelowna I will have to come back here if only for the service. read more

We decided to check out this restaurant when we first moved up from the Coast in December of last year. We were so impressed with the delicious fresh menu items and fantastic customer service that we've turned this into our restaurant of choice when it comes to dining out. This past Sunday it was my birthday and of course Joey's was my first choice for dinner. We were lucky to once again be served by the cheerful and attentive Brenna. Brenna manages to make us feel like VIP's each and every time we come in and even remembers what drinks we prefer! We'd also like to mention that Bartender Michael does a fantastic job mixing cocktails. I highly suggest having him make you a Gin Martini or the Elderflower Collins. So fresh and cold and absolutely delish! Never have we ever had such good food and drink and professional service and we dine out alot. Was here a week ago. I had the Katsu Chicken Peanut Salad. It was good size with a bit of heat. I don't recall what all the others had...one had ribs, another a Rainbow Roll... It's a busy place. Great service tonight! Our server very was attentive but didn't over do it. We had the sliders and lettuce wraps. The wraps could have been better! The chocolate cake made up for it though - easily one of their best menu items. Atmosphere was nice and very comfortable. Updating my review: had lettuce wraps the other night. My first visit to Joey, service was good but not outstanding. The red wine, an Okanagan named Rust, recommended by my server was excellent. The yellowfin tuna salad was delicious (sparse on the tuna), but the New York Steak I ordered, billed as "The king of steaks", was mediocre at best. I ordered it medium rare, it came out medium, not particularly tender, and had I nor ordered the pepper sauce to go with it, fairly tasteless. The grilled asparagus and tomatoes, inversely, were cooked to perfection and served hot. This was my first shot, and I usually give a place another chance, I'll try something else next time. read more

I had the seared tuna salad and even with all of those interesting ingredients like seared pepper tuna, mango, avocado, the salad was quite bland and uninspiring. I think it had to do with the salad dressing. Also had the chili chicken, which seemed to be the exact same dish that is served at Earls. Coincidence? I think not.
