Joe's tires saved the day one again! My daughter and I hit a pothole in Oakland and damaged 2 of my tires. I called in to order two tires to be installed for the next morning. Imani took my order but then got the general manager Jose on the phone to come confirm the order. The next day I arrived at Joe's tires, Told them my dreadful story and immediately they got to work. They completed the 2 tires in a few hours But as Jose's team did the alignment he found a problem. There is a part he could order that could resolve the issue but they would need to order it. That's when I decided to call my insurance company. I asked them if the incident would be covered under my policy. They said absolutely! Immediately they took control. I told Jose that I called my insurance company. The team including Jose at Joes tires Took care of me the entire time they even took pictures For the insurance company and sent them to me While also working directly with the insurance company. I had the unfortunate Oakland occurrence of getting my tires stolen off my car over night. After finally landing a tow truck who would, in fact, tow a tireless car, I called around to see who I could trust to tow to. Replacing tires, especially when there are pressure sensors, aluminum rims and other expensive paraphernalia can get pricey and time consuming. José at Joe's Tires in Berkeley was so accommodating and honest. From the minute my car was towed to Joe's to the minute I left with all my tires replaced I felt taken care of and listened to. He worked with my financial restrictions and went beyond his call of duty to make sure my car was finished in a affordable, timely manner by checking in every step of the way and letting me know where we were as new choices popped up. This is the best tire change place. Great guys. Whilst the other guys insisted on purchasing new tire. This guy changed the tires under the tire protection plan without any hassle. Great shop great service. After spending the better part of a day driving around Berkeley talking about tires, I was nearly all tired out... (Sorry, I had to.) Fortunately I decided to make one more stop at Joe's Tire. Brian helped me with a quote and was very knowledgable. They didn't pressure me and reminded me they could order just about anything I wanted. They had tires in stock that fit my truck and they were happy to install them that day, even 30 minutes from closing on a Saturday. The price I paid was the same as my quote, no funny business. They worked quickly and I was in and out in approximately 40 minutes. The only downside of my visit was they were not the cheapest place I went to. This place is amazing! I am so sad that I only found them right when I am about to move out of the Bay Area. I first took my car to Joe's when it needed an oil change and wheel alignment. At my previous mechanic, this would have taken multiple days, at Joe's it took less than 24 hours. I took the car again to Joe's when my manual needed a new clutch and fly wheel, both of which needed to be ordered. When Jose realized that the process was going to take much longer than he had originally estimated, he arranged for me to get a rental car at no charge from the Toyota dealer down the street. Had a screw in my tire for too long and needed to get it patched. I wasn't sure if there were other issues with any of the other tires and was a little nervous going to an unknown repair place that they might try and upsell me, telling me I had other issues. The guy there was so nice, took me right away, gave me a quick timeframe and was ready waiting when I got back. He remembered my boyfriend, as he had gone in earlier, and gave me a great price. Danny Damrong was super helpful!! He took care of my alignment needs and it was so smooth going from the time I was parking my car, till pick up!! Took about an hour with my appointment and with the location of Joe's tires I was able to get a haircut and pick up a couple other things right in time before pick up. You also get a printout of before and after specs of how your tires were positioned which Danny explains that I had been dragging along previous to the alignment. About 3 months ago, I got 4 new tires at Joe's, because he made me the best price for the tires (after a little haggling) and he had them available next day, on a Saturday. I have a special size rear tire, so availability was a problem at other places. That day, everyone was really stressed because of a lot of work/customers, and only 2 weeks later I found out that they had mounted one tire inside out. I was not too happy that I had to go back, but they handled the matter professionally and quick and assured me the guy who mounted my tire was fired ;) I probably wouldn't have given 5 stars then, maybe 3 or 4 but - - I found a nail in my new expensive rear tire yesterday, and the tire had lost a substantial amount of air already. I called Joe's this morning, and they were able to squeeze me in an hour later. The person at the front desk was very friendly and efficient. I realized that the shop has been remodeled/rearranged (maybe new management?) Anyway, they told me it would be 30$ to repair the tire and that they would be done in an hour. However, when I picked my car up, not only was the repair done but also they charged me nothing! The receipt said something about some sort of insurance. So, they were quick, friendly, and - affordable. Definitely recommend! read more

After my dealership service team realized that my "low tire pressure" was actually a seriously damaged tire, I was referred to Joe's tires. After a long work day, it was really the last thing I wanted to do, but knew I had to. As soon as I walked in the door, I heard Gaby's cheerful voice helping the customer before me. Last week I had a low tire. I was pressed for time and I remembered the great service I got a few years ago at Joe's Tires in Berkeley. I pulled in and asked them if they could check for a nail in my tire. They were busy but understood that I had a long drive ahead of me and no time. They squeezed me in. I worked with Jose to find 4 new tires for my car. Jose was very helpful and ordered the tires and I made an appt to come in a couple of days later to have the tires put on my SUV. Everything went very smoothly-I also had an alignment. The car drives so much better now and I'm really happy w/the work. Everyone there is friendly and very nice. The man who greeted me when I drove up (sorry I can't remember your name) replaced my windshield wipers right when I was asking how much they would charge to replace them. I'm sorry. These guys suck. They charged me $120 for a wheel alignment that they didn't finish because they claimed I needed a new camber arm. They also wanted $600 for a new set of tyres. Instead I went to Orozco's Tires, who were awesome and fixed the alignment for FREE and gave me four new tyres for $270. read more

I've had two flat tires in the last 2 months. Each time I tried to get my tire fixed at establishments closer to my home they were "too busy," "didn't have my brand of tire." or simply didn't respond to me at all. Both times I ended up going far out of my way to Joe's tires and they took care of me right away, were so friendly and extremely professional. I have a dog walking and pet taxi service. If I don't have a car I can't work. Telling my customers at the last minute that I can't take care of their pets while they are at work is not acceptable. Gabriella and Danny got me out the door both times in less than an hour. The next time I need help with a tire I won't even try a closer place. It's better to just go to Joe's where I know the service is reliable and I won't be treated like I'm an imposition as I was at the other service centers. read more

Amazing customer service!! Needed a new tire asap after my tire had a rip in it. I called several other tire places and they all said they could order the tire for me but it could take a couple of days to arrive. Joe's not only had the tire I needed but was able to install it the same day. After dropping my car off it took only 20 minutes for the entire process. I needed a tire changed and needed it fast-I was going on a roadtrip the next day. I came in at 5:30, they close at 6pm. They were really helpful and I got immediate assistance. I didn't remember which tire needed to be replaced, and they went through and proved it to me-(it was pretty obvious as well.) I had called ahead of time to check if my tire was in stock. They had the exact same one, and offered me the same info as a few other places about that particular tire-more expensive, but I get better mileage. then they noticed that my tires had wear on the sides, a tell-tale sign that my tires were not properly aligned. I said, "I was sure that they aligned my tires during the last service I got."This was my mistake-tire alignment is often extra. I hadn't had my tires aligned for quite a while then! They asked for the bill from my last service, which you are supposed to leave in your glove compartment for future references if you ever find yourself in Reno, or some God-awful place. I had forgotten to, so they even showed me on the computer all the details from my last service, which was given by a different toyota dealership so they had the information. I told them I would rather get my tires aligned at the dealership I am used to, but they told me they would do it for $80, $20 OFF THEIR REGULAR PRICE. I was astounded. My next thought was, "Are they going to do a good job?". I hoped and prayed. Meanwhile. the man, who was very helpful and went out of his way to explain tire alignment, and what it does. I asked how often should I get it done-he said depends on how you drive. One can apparently affect the alignment by rubbing up against the curb when one is trying to park. He explained to me that when he parks, he tilts his mirror down to protect his tires.He also gave me advice on how much air the particular good years I had needed. They apparently need 35-37, where other tires typically need 32. I thanked him for this info. I also told him I live down the street and my dad's a lawyer, and he said he's good to his word. His exact words were, "I had a good mother." Awesome. They went 20 minutes overtime to change my tire and align them. I drove out of there, my car operating smooth as cream. It was an IMMEDIATE difference. read more

Sexist and incompetent. I took my car in for repairs back in early April saying that it was overheating. They took a little over a week to charge me over $600 in "repairs" and claimed that it was fixed. I tried to drive my car to LA that weekend and of course, my car overheated in the middle of know where and I was put in a very dangerous situation. I had it towed back only to find out that now the engine had been damaged. They neglected to call me for over a month instead, they spoke to my male housemate. Didn't bother to give me any updates, didn't ask my house mate to update me. But just ignored me. I called them a month later and was quoted $2,000 to fix the car. Keep in mind we're in June now. I asked to speak to the manager to see if they'd reduce the fees since costs were now more than the blue book value of the car. I didn't get a call until DECEMBER saying that my car was fixed. I had called along the way and kept getting the run around saying "in a couple of weeks." Finally 9 MONTHS LATER I finally picked up my car. A manager NEVER called me back and I was not given any discounts. I am never going here again and warn all to steer clear. Evidently their manager just quit as well as several other employees at the shop. read more

I had called my boyfriend for advice and he said to go there because he has heard they could help me immediately which is what they did. Jason came over to me with a huge smile and brightened what had been an awful day. He had my tire changed and car ready to go within 25 minutes. I've had two good experiences with these folks. In both cases, the experience was painless, fast, and their price was good. In the first case, I had to replace my tires, and they were able to order just the tires that I wanted and it was a quick in-and-out process: I dropped off the car, took off for a leisurely lunch, and they were done an hour and a half later. In the second case, a tire went flat, and they were able to figure out that it could be patched and repaired -- for only $30. That's a bargain. I never felt like the sales folks were trying to upsell me, the experience was pleasant and rapid, and the process was faster than at Big O tires. I'd definitely come back here agian. read more
