Incredible fish sandwich. Fish felt fresh and the sandwich had nice texture and flavor. Very quick service. Would recommend!

Joes on a Roll is iconic, everyone in the north shore knows about Joes.. and there is a reason! Brought my partner up to Beverly to try his first ever lobster roll and many people suggested Joes, I've had it before and I loved it.. let's do it again! Walked over and went inside to order.. we both got the lobster roll deluxe for $36. You get a drink, chips, chowder AND a delicious lobster roll. Now thinking about it, wayyy too much food but dang delicious!! We both had the roll Connecticut style, nice hot and drenched in butter. There is only two chairs and a table but we walked over to a local brewery to eat and drink! The service was super kind and helped us through the menu, thanks Joes!!

Wow. Great lobster roll. The staff knows what they're talking about when they make recommendations. I'm picky about my lobster rolls and I like them fresh as can be, no odd parts, very little mayo, and a crisp, soft, buttery bun. Joes on a roll did not disappoint. Yes I could've easily gone to market basket and paid like $7 or however much it is and gotten thick bisque with mayo, but joes you pay for quality, and that quality is worth it. Smells like fresh fish indoors, not overwhelming and they do have little candies too. Very quick service.

Not gonna lie, I was a bit underwhelmed by this place. When I picture a lobster shack, I'm usually thinking of a little place by the water, not along a busy road. There wasn't really anywhere to sit outside either, which was disappointing. Major minus points on the vibe. In terms of the lobster, the quality was decent, but the roll was pretty small. I don't think I'd bother coming back, given all the other seafood options in the area.

I've had lobster rolls all up and down New England and this is one of my favorites. It's a simple place with just a few parking spots, but the price is right and the people have always been nice. The lobster roll isn't super large or overflowing with lobster, but it's enough and it's also 20-30% cheaper than most places, allowing you to try something else! Really enjoyed my hot, buttered lobster roll and the hat trick box that we got (clams, shrimp, and scallops). On another occasion, we got another box with fried fish that was great as well (in addition to the lobster rolls, of course).

Everything was fresh off the boat Joe's on a roll is a takeout only. But the food is amazing lobster roll is packed with fresh lobster the haddock sandwich was the bomb best I ever had came with French fries or Tata tots everything is fresh like I said . The ladies who run the place are amazing cheerful and helpful second to none. Joe's on a Roll the best. The ambiance is very good too but they have no seating takeout.

The service was excellent. The lobster rolls were good., no really big chunks of lobster. Otherwise, they would've been great.. We got oysters and they chucked them for us.. Also, the onion rings were really good. No seating in very little parking. Great prices, I will definitely be back..

Wow! I could just leave my review at that... what an amazing find! I had the lobster bisque, which was loaded with tons of delicious lobster! My wife had the chowder, which was equally as impressive. Which one I will get the next time is anybody's guess; they are both at the top of my list! Now let's talk about their lobster roll. Totally loaded with font of mouth watering, delicious tail meat! Absolutely one of the best lobster rolls out there! To make a good thing even better, their prices are truly affordable! I will most definitely be back here again the next time I am in the area. So delicious!!!

So happy we found this place while enjoying our weekend on the North Shore! I had the Deluxe Lobster Roll Combo that included a Lobster Roll, choice of Chowder, Lobster Bisque, or Corn Chowder, Chips and a Drink for $23.50!!! Wow! What a deal! The Lobster Roll was AMAZING! One of the best I've had and I eat them from everywhere! The chowder was THICK and yummmy!!! Will DEFINITELY be coming back!!!

What can I say? Scollops and shrimp for 20.00? And delish. To boot! Fries may be extra, but very tasty! Give them a try, YOU WILL BE BACK!

The lobster roll was very good. The clam chowder tasted as if it came from can It was very salty and just didn't taste very fresh.

I got a kick out of being handed my food by someone in a pig mask. Other reviews give you the low-down, so I'll discuss the food. The menu (only one item, or one item plus snacks) is posted by the intercom. On the evening I went, it was a pulled pork sandwich. I opted for the snacks option, and it came with root beer, Utz chips, and an oatmeal creme cookie. The sandwich was delicious. I got one for my dad too, and he loved it. The pork was well-seasoned and the bacon was thick, crisp, and tasty. The bun was also good. I feel like buns are often an afterthought with sandwiches, but not here. It was a high quality Kaiser roll, and it held up to the toppings (pork, bacon, slaw) well. The house-brand root beer was also good. If you find yourself in Salem by 5:15 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, get in line for Back Alley Bacon and enjoy.

It's quite spacious inside with patio seating and seating at the bar. We decided to share a bunch of apps and a plate. We got a daily special wedge salad, it was decent, wished we had the dressing on the side but still good. Shared a bowl of clam chowder. It was the best chowder I have had. It was rich but not too thick, chunks of clam through out with diced tender cubes of potatoes. Such an amazing soup. The baked mac and cheese app was quite rich and creamy, the cavatappi noodles were cooked to al dente, creamy cheese and breadcrumbs made it special. The star of the show were the baked scallops. Tender and buttery, they give you 1/2 a pound, topped with toasted bread crumbs - delicious. The spinach sautéed with garlic was a great side. The risotto with lobster, was alright. It was an interesting take. Will return for scallops.

The mussels were the highlight, served with chorizo in a delicious white sauce, along with a thick slice of ciabatta bread. That bread was amazing and perfect for soaking up the sauce! We also ordered fries, which were cut more like wedges rather than thin fries, and they were really good. Everything tasted nice and fresh, the service was attentive, and the food came out on time. I'd definitely recommend it, especially for the mussels and that bread
