I was brought here as a kid, and my experience initially seemed positive. Unfortunately, two very…read moreserious things happened during my treatment that still greatly upset me. First: I have what's sometimes called a "gummy smile." The orthodontist strongly pushed a cosmetic laser procedure to remove gum tissue. I initially considered it, but after discussing it with my dad, I realized I didn't want a cosmetic procedure, especially for something that wasn't medically necessary and wasn't something that aesthetically bothered me. When I told the orthodontist that I didn't want the surgery, I was told, *"It's not up to you,"* along with a glare. Being told as a child that I had no say in whether a cosmetic medical procedure would be done to my body was extremely distressing and it's a vivid memory to this day. Now that I'm an adult, I've never had a single medical issue related to my gums, which reinforces that it truly wasn't necessary. Second, and the issue that still bothers me the most: My canines were shaved down without my knowledge or consent. At the time, the orthodontist told me he was simply removing extra glue. Later I realized he had actually reshaped my canines, removing a distinctive feature of my smile that I really loved. I was never asked about this beforehand, and it was only apparent after the procedure had already been done. As an adult, those teeth are also more sensitive than they used to be. Parents, if you bring your kids here, please pay very close attention to what procedures are being done and make sure everything is clearly explained beforehand. Patients, especially younger ones, deserve to be informed and have their concerns respected! If shaving down my teeth to change their look was necessary for my bite, that should have been something discussed with me instead of a mumbled "just tidying things up" while the drill is going. The only real way to fix what happened would be cosmetic reconstruction of the teeth, which would cost hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately, that's not something I expect this office will take responsibility for.

This was our first--and definitely last--visit to this dentist. I brought my four-year-old in for a…read moreroutine check-up, and I was shocked at the recommendations given. The dentist immediately said she needed to be sedated for a 90- to 120-minute procedure to place silver caps on all her back teeth--despite the fact that she doesn't have a single cavity. There was no attempt to build any rapport with my child before jumping into these extreme suggestions. He was not warm, gentle, or kid-friendly in any way, which is especially disappointing for a pediatric practice. I left feeling confused, frustrated, and uncomfortable with the aggressive treatment plan. I would not recommend this office to any parent looking for thoughtful, patient-centered pediatric dental care.

Received email a few hours before appointment that they were canceling us due to staff shortage. Today I received an email that my three children's appointments had to be cancelled this afternoon. I scheduled this appointment 2 months ago and scheduled my afternoon off work to make this happen. Their reason: "short staffed". I called and explained that my small children don't need Xrays and are usually seen by the dentist for about 3-4 minutes each. After being bounced around different employees on the phone and re-explaining the situation multiple times, I finally spoke with a male "manager". He then said that I could come in today if I would skip using my insurance and pay cash. Is this even legal for them to make such a request? I could keep my appointment today only if I paid cash. About three years ago, the same thing happened at this office. I had an appointment and I was turned away at the door with my small child because they were "understaffed". Is this the norm today? Mr. Cort, the hygienist, is always calm, nice, and sweet, and the rest of the staff has also been wonderful. Unfortunately, our most recent visit with the dentist was very disappointing. My special needs son, who is autistic, nearly cried because the dentist could not get him to open his mouth for an X-ray. Instead of showing patience and understanding, the dentist became loud and pushy, saying, "He wont open his mouth, I don't know why he wouldn't, he's done this many times." His tone was not discreet, and the interaction left my son feeling scared and uncomfortable. My son almost cried while he was sitting at the chair. Even though my son has managed dental visits before, this experience has now made him fearful of going at all. It was very disheartening to see such little compassion for children with special needs. After years of loyalty, we will now be looking for another dental office--one that treats all children with kindness, patience, and respect.

Poor Customer Service & Scheduling Issues…read more Trinity Dental has serious issues with customer service and communication. My most recent appointment was scheduled for 11:00 AM. I arrived at 10:50 AM, only to be told at 11:45 AM that I would need to reschedule because they were short-staffed. No phone call, no text, no advance notice--just nearly an hour of waiting to be told they couldn't see me. I highly recommend going somewhere else if you value your time. This was actually my second visit, and unfortunately my second bad experience. I decided to give them another chance after the first visit had similar problems. During that first appointment, I was taken back for a cleaning and exam, then left sitting in the dental chair for over an hour with no communication or updates. I was later told there was an emergency. Two visits with the same issues shows this isn't a one-time situation, but a pattern. Poor communication, poor scheduling, and lack of respect for patients' time.
