Moreover, my daughter's safety was compromised during her cleaning, as she nearly choked on water due to insufficient assistance. When I raised concerns to the dentist, I was met with dismissiveness and disrespect. The dentist refused to acknowledge my presence and even threatened to discontinue services when I attempted to voice my concerns. This behavior, coupled with the dentist's alarming comment regarding the racial composition of their patients, left me deeply troubled. I will not be returning to this establishment and encourage others, especially those from marginalized communities, to seek support from professionals who prioritize respect and safety for all patients. **Extremely Disappointing Experience - Complete Disregard for Our Time and Our Request**…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but after what happened at Smile Big Pediatric Dentistry, I feel parents deserve to know. When I scheduled appointments for my two children, I specifically requested a **female dentist**. This was not a last-minute request,it was discussed during scheduling and documented in our file. Had the office informed me they could not accommodate it, I would have happily scheduled another day or gone elsewhere. Instead, when we arrived, a **male dentist** came in to examine my children. I politely explained that we had requested a female dentist and that this information should already be in our chart. He acknowledged the mistake and left. From that point on, the experience only became worse. The female dentist was notified, yet we were left waiting for **nearly four hours** while patient after patient was called back ahead of us. During that time, I approached the staff **twice** and explained that this entire situation resulted from the office failing to honor the request they had already accepted when the appointment was booked. Rather than taking responsibility or making any effort to correct their mistake, we were simply told to keep waiting. After four hours, my children were exhausted, hungry, restless, and understandably upset. No child should be expected to sit in a waiting room for that long because of an office's scheduling error. We ultimately had no choice but to leave without either child being seen. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I cannot understand is the complete lack of accountability, communication, empathy, or respect for our time. The issue was never the initial mistake,it was the way it was handled afterward. A pediatric dental office should understand that children have limits. Making two young children wait for hours because the office failed to honor a documented request is simply unacceptable. I sincerely hope Smile Big Pediatric Dentistry reviews its scheduling procedures and treats future families with more professionalism and respect. They seem like they don't like being there themselves. The last dental assistant I had is why I'm submitting this review. His name was Martin and he called me back. As soon as I stood up and walked towards the doorway he doesn't say anything and turns around and walk towards the back. So, I just follow him. He points to the chair that I guess is where I will have my exam. So, I have a seat. He says he needs an xray. So, I just sit there while he gets the xray pictures. Afterwards, he gets the materials needed for teeth cleaning. He wasn't pleasant at all. At this point I'm uncomfortable and ready to leave. He flosses my teeth and brushes. Then, the doctor comes over and he actually was nice. At that point, Martins demeanor towards the doctor was pleasant and they had a conversation. I'm so disappointed in how I was treated. Martin did not make me feel comfortable and put on a facade for the doctor. I will never be back.

This was an amazing decision on my part. The lobby/waiting area is about as anti-dentist/medical office as you can get. It's quiet and relaxing. There's a water feature behind the receptionist's desk you can see and hear easily. {The recpetionist is very nice and cheery and loves to chat!} It's lit with gentle track lighting. She has healthy snacks in the waiting room and you're welcome to any of it - after all they're about to clean your teeth! Exceptionally clean all black devices bathroom. She is up to date on all the latest and newest technology and techniques. My first appointment in about 16 years went surprisingly well...no real shockers since I am in good tune with my body. The technician stopped once when she realised and commented I was licking my lips a lot. I responded explaining I'd left my lip balm in the car. She stopped what she was doing and fetched me a tiny little tube. They keep a basket of some of the niftiest scent/flavours on the way out. My son's first appointment with her didn't go so well - he only allowed them a visual exam, but that was partially my fault because I forgot to bring any of the comforting stuffy pals with us. She and I had a long conversation about this and his behaviour and where she wanted to go from there. She has a son of similar age and experienced much more resistance from him. The second appointment last Monday went very well. He allowed exam, cleaning and panoramic x rays. He got nervous when they went to do the bite wings so they stopped there. He has appointments quarterly for now to get him better acclimated with them and their processes as parents {for liability reasons} aren't allowed into the rooms with the children. I have to make an appt in the morning for myself to begin the corrections in my own mouth. Do not let this pretty young woman's looks or gentle demeanor fool you. She knows what she's doing and what she's talking about. If you want a good thorough and exceptionally pleasant dental experience this is the place and dentist for you!

The one downside (hence the lack of 5 stars) is that they are NOT in network with insurance, so you will pay a little differently. Keep that in mind. I also love that in the event we overpay or insurance kicks out more coverage than expected, the office is great at refunding you! Win-win.
