We love to come here! Staff is always friendly, quick service and they have many screens with sports going. Fresh food and nice atmosphere.

The manager tossed several of us out early and didn't t toss out the regulars. I wouldn't drink again here if I was dying of thirst.

One of our goto bar restaurants. No matter where you go there are gunna be some good and some bad items. You should trust my review because I been here alot. Someone goes to a place one time and one bad experience and the whole place sucks right? On to my review. Overall the waitstaff are very nice and prompt. The beer selection is good. My girlfriend is all about Pinot Grigio and gives a big thumbs up. Perch is awesome. Highly recommend. The slaw is one of the best I have had with a fish dinner. The french fries are crinkle style and crispy and tasty. We live them. Burgers are top notch. There are a few bars I mention when comparing best burgers and this is one of them. They removed their tacos. That is a shame. Those things were the best tacos in town. If they hot removed because they didn't sell enough thats because they weren't promoted enough. If you had them you would go back just for those. Tree hugger quesadilla is really good as well. I will give my one negative food item. One of their pizzas was nasty. It was like gas station pizza. The crust was so dry and plain. The waitress said its kinda like deep dish kinda not. All I know is it more then kinda sucked. If it was my first meal there it mighta been my last. My girlfriend gets the southwest salad alot. She loves it. Their side salads are actually really nice size sometimes she gets that and fries and is full. Prices are normal. Its basically a bar like Art & Jakes, maybe the Hamlin pub. Same price range similar type of food. I like it better then Uno or shields for sure. I just moved in the area and this place has been my favorite so far because it nailed it on their burgers and wings which are my favorites. Beats Buffalo Wild Wings. I would give 10 stars if I could ! I hosted a private event, retirement party here and Sammy and his staff exceeded all of our expectations! Our party was just over 100 people and my guests are still raving about the food and quality of service. I would highly recommend this location for a private party. Sammy worked with us for weeks to customize our food menu and make sure every detail of our event was executed perfectly. My sister and her hockey friends/teammates come here and drink so with that, I knew the drinks would be decent, prices low, and the fried food would be exceptional! We came for lunch and I was expecting pretty average food, but I was pleasantly surprised by the service, hot/fresh food, and atmosphere.. Soups were fine-- French Onion and Chilli were about what you'd expect. It's important to note that the soups were very hot! I got the turkey BLT with fries and it was nice. I guess they recently remodeled and so it was very clean and had a ton of tv's to watch games and sporting events. read more

If I could give Sam, Jacque and Samantha more than five stars I would! We held an office event at Joe Kool's in Troy, MI on May 18th where the service, food and atmosphere were a clear 10! More people arrived than expected but that did not phase those three (or the rest of the staff) one bit! I had people telling me it was even better than the last Holiday party we had! To the entire staff at Joe Kool's in Troy - we will be back in smaller groups to properly thank you and try more things on your menu! Not only are you all amazing your menu is also terrific! We decided to give them a go now that they've remodeled. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the lack of dirty bar water stench. The new decor is really fantastic. I wish I could report the same about the food. Our daughter ordered the kids chicken strips. She hated them, which is out of character for her. My wife tastes them and she didn't think anything was wrong. In terms of looks, they look just like Schwann's chicken and the fries appeared fresh out of the bulk frozen bag -- and tasted as such. My wife ordered the halt pizza with salad and a cup of French onion soup. Her soup had no flavor at all. The pizza she ordered was bacon and pineapple. What was delivered was ham and pineapple. The service was so incredibly slow, she begrudgingly ate it and was less than impressed. (It's hard to compete with The Alibi.) I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. When I picked up the wrap, it just broke apart. The tortilla was so dried out and nasty, it was inedible. No sweat. I'll just eat the insides with a fork. The fork delivered to the table still had someone's dinner on it. The chicken inside the wrap was cold; refrigerator cold, so I sent it back and ordered a burger as a replacement. The waitress came back a short time later to explain the chicken was supposed to be cold. What? Gross. I couldn't eat it. The replacement burger came and I could only eat half of it. I ordered it medium and it came out nearly raw. After being on airplanes all day, I didn't have the energy to wait for a 3rd option. The bun was dried out (beyond toasted) and the meat had z meek flavor. I think it is safe to say that we will not be back any time soon. So disappointing! read more

I came here Sunday for drinks and had never been before, so this review is only about the drinks/service. Service was good, my water glass was always full and our waitress was very nice. When I arrived at the restaurant, I went to go use the restroom, and there were a few women in there being kind of loud / using language ... I was surprised to see when I got out that they were restaurant staff and not patrons. Kind of off-putting. I would come back here again for the food, I've heard it's good but it's bar food - the menu had mozzarella sticks, burgers, etc. They do have a small outside sitting area which would be nice for this type of weather. read more

I was here today, 03/26/2023- I couldn't eat here because there was food all on the floors under the table. This restaurant doesn't have a vacuum? What a nasty place. Be aware that it's hit and miss whether your server will have a mask on or on properly. We couldn't even stay on the patio after seeing that and they are using the same menus as before, instead of throw away. Gross and risky. read more

It's a beautiful day in Michigan so we wanted to eat outside, so we chose Joe Looks because the food is decent, but the service today was terrible. Hillary frequently had trouble finding our table. I got an ice tea and asked for sweetener. She came and went (she's speedy) to tables around us, but it took me a while to get her attention and remind her about the sweetener. By the time I added it to my tea all the ice was melted, so it was sweet lemon water. When she brought our food I asked for a new tea. She brought one back without lemon or a straw, no comment, just a dump and run. We ate our meal and when she stopped back I told her she took take the tea away, which she did. When the bill came she had left the tea on it and was perterbed when we asked for it to be removed. Joe Looks is an ok place to eat, just make sure Hillary isn't your waitress!! read more

The thin pizza wasn't thin and not so good, very sloppy, tasteless and under cooked, also got pretzels that you can't mess up. The place is cool inside with lots of tv's and plenty of seating, I'm trying to be positive. But it just wasn't that good, after drinking my first beer the waitress didn't come over for a least 8minutes felt like forever, I was thirsty, then it came time to pay the check and she disappeared again, I hate that. So for me it wasn't that great of an experience. read more

The only thing Joe Kool's has going for them is that it's in the same plaza as another sports bar so when that place was full for a recent bowl game, we could just walk here without trying to figure out/drive to another place to watch the game. We were seated in the furthest section of the restaurant, which also happened to not have any sound. This is quite problematic while you're there to watch a game. We asked someone to turn up the sound but never heard from them again. Even when they opened the garage door separater so from the front of the bar could travel toward us, it just wasn't loud enough. Heck, there's even sound in the bathroom! It was just disappointing since this wasn't our bar of choice. The food wasn't much better either. The salsa was the best part of the huge portion of the bit too mushy southwest rolls. The spinach artichoke dip, which tasted like it had a cream cheese base, didn't taste fresh. Combining it with garlic French bread (probably thrown in the oven from the pre-made frozen section of the grocery store) was too much. And the garlic honey chicken wings just plain did not look appetizing. Blue moon pints are $4 on Saturday nights, which is a good value. But they ran out of oranges. Overall, It just feels like this place wasn't ready to handle a big crowd for a football game: No working speakers and running out of oranges. If you come here with no expectations, I'd presume you'd have a good time. There was a good crowd (which cleared pretty quickly but that was probably due to the game), friendly service and there are good drink specials throughout the week. read more

They remodeled this place. The ambiance is updated and there is a huge bar with plenty of options to watch sports. I happened to meet my husband here for lunch. The service was ok, our waitress seemed to have a large section so she didn't exactly stop back to check on us after delivering our food. I ordered a salad without a couple of the items and was served lettuce which was previously shredded and a little frozen. I would have sent it back but we couldn't get our server's attention. My husband ordered a pizza, it was tasty, the crust was really good, chewy and not greasy. Enough toppings but not so much to make a soggy mess. I never had a drink refill. But Troy's Joe Kool's has fantastic tasting food and a great list of wine and beers that makes me a regular at this restaurant. Joe Kool's offers a pretty standard menu of bar food with fish and chips, salads, burgers, and such. What makes them above par is the fact that they are consistently flavorful and fresh. The spinach and artichoke dip is awesome with a blend of melted cheeses and fresh spinach combined to make a flavorful appetizer. The fish and chips are a hearty portion of deep fried, heavy battered cod served with perfectly cooked fries. Kool's also offers hefty salads, fajitas, and panini's to sooth that growling stomach. In addition, Joe Kool's offers a great list of beers from Budweiser to Bell's and a fairly healthy wine list. And for the sports nut Joe Kool's offers several big screen TVs that are continually turned to tennis, basketball, football, and baseball. Utterly disappointed. Asked waitress what some of the popular and favorite dishes were, and by recommendation, chose the fish and chips (upgrading to sweet potato fries). The sweet potato fries were the only thing edible about this meal. They were FANTASTIC, fresh, and perfect. The fish, I'm still bringing up. It tasted like it was made last night, refried, and served. The Asian peanut coleslaw wasn't cold, and after one, revolting bite, I became nauseated, and still can't settle my stomach despite hours of drinking ginger ale and several trips to the toilet. Service was great though, they comped one fish dinner with genuine apologies. Being as sick as I am though, I don't think we'll be back for the food. read more

The food at Joe cools is generally very good. The Doro chicken fajita salad is delicious, and all the specials we've had have been great. The calamari pictured from last night was definitely off, overcooked and they were out of the sauce which would've made it ok. My husband and I eat here from time to time. It had been a while and we were surprised when we walked in to see a total remodel. The place looks very nice. Our waitress is named Jacqueline. She was very efficient and took good care of us. Lots of new menu options. I had the steak bite dinner With a side salad and my husband had the chicken fajitas and a side salad. Checked out the newly remodeled Joe Kools Saturday night. The new look is so much better from the old tired decor they use to have. Thank God they removed that revolving door they use to have. Decent enough place if you'r ein a pinch for some food and drinks. The irish nachos are stellar, highly recommend those. The buffalo chicken sandwiches / wraps...are not. They're chicken, but it's not really buffalo sauce, and it's not even really all that hot, so it's pretty much an annoying let down. We asked to have the nachos taken off the bill but it was thrown at us with all of the other carry out items as we were trying to leave only to find as we are driving out of the Parking lot salsa is everywhere and soaked through the pizza box and now on to my clothes! I use to have many of late nights at Joe Kool's after a long days of slinging shots of espresso at the Starbucks down the plaza. My fellow workers and I would get off late and enjoy some drinks. As other reviewers write, "it's a sport's bar", I LOVE sports bars. This place has tons of tv's and is usually playing each event that is going on that day. The food is win, bar food. Who doesn't love greasy bar food? I usually stick with some sort of chicken sandwich. The chicken stripes are also very tasty. Their fries are addicting, when you dip them in the ranch dressing. There is out door seating for those amazingly warm summer night that you just want to sit out in the night and drink a beer. read more
