[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great lively sports bar to watch a game with many large size tv's with a good sound system for viewing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recently came here on a Friday night with a friend for drinks and sat at the bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's been over 6 years since my last visit and the whole inside has been updated and renovated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and more contemporary than it used to be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only complaint is that it was a little too dark. My friend and i had to use our flashlights on our phones to read the beer/wine list[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. If I was eating a meal here I definitely would want more light to see. I will update my review when return sometime for a meal or appetizer.

There was a dirty fork on the floor and stab my friends foot

My friends and i decided to stop by for what we thought would be a quick drink. Boy were we wrong. Our waitress did what she could and was very helpful, so this post is no shade to her. The bartenders took 30-45 to get us beers, each round. Let's not talk about how long we waited for salads and fries. Almost two hours. We asked for the manager after my friend stepped on a fork that wasn't visible on the floor. Then her foot started bleeding continuously. The manager came over an hour later like oh my bad I thought you were another table. I can call you and ambulance ( laughing as though that was a funny manner) he didn't try to solve the issue but was also very condescending. This is a dirty utensil puncturing someone. Keeping your establishment clean should be a priority but also treating your customers with respect.

Had a great dinner Place was busy, so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was top-notch! Took our drink orders immediately even though she was busy Got our food order and it was brought our promptly I got the Michigan salad and my spouse got the burger and fries. Salad was great. Fresh ingredients and tasty His burger was great ii. Highly recommend!!

Came with two friends for dinner on Saturday. There were two big birthday parties going on. We order some beer and chicken club sliders. This was recommended by my friend who insists its great bar food. It definitely was satisfying and it came with chips. The owner came out to say hello as my friends were regular customers. Service was friendly and quick. We ate all of our food and left.

We were looking for a spot to meet for lunch and watch a game, when he suggested Joe Kools. We just drove by here the other night and remarked that we had not been back since they renovated. We used to come here somewhat often. But then they closed for renovations and we just sort of forgot about it. Wow!! The whole look has totally changed. I would have never known I was in the same restaurant. It's now more of an upscale sports bar. It's a lot brighter in there and the bar is now enormous and in the middle of the restaurant. There is still a private room for parties and some amazing outdoor seating areas. The bartender was very attentive and was awesome. The waitress was hustling her butt off. They have a great variety of beers on tap. Many local. The food was pretty good. I got steak tips. They were a bit fatty. Not super tender. The zip sauce was tasty. I'm trying hard to go low carb so I only took one bite of the garlic bread and it was delicious. He got the chicken tenders. He didn't really comment on them. I don't think you can really get tenders wrong though. We celebrated a victory, a nice lunch, and great company. They had a huge number of tvs and we definitely liked the atmosphere. I think we would definitely come back to watch different sporting events. I wouldn't mind an evening dinner on their patio.

    Southern chicken wrap.

Came to get food. Ordered our food and had to wait an hour for our food which was burnt and cold. The waitress was not very intensive to our table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was not busy at all. Also there was a child sitting at the bar while his parent, the bar tender and our waitress did shots.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A family sat down shortly after we did. They ordered they food after we did but got it before we did.

An example of the kind of food that we got. An old dilapidated burger, burnt to a crisp.

I sat at the bar where Mae very thoughtfully helped me navigate through the extensive been menu. I was very impressed at the selections! She brought me three tasters and, honestly, each of them were fantastic. It seems fitting that I chose a pint of Conflict of Interest in the midst of a difficult decision! The food menu is just as impressive. I'm certain anyone can find a favorite. I ordered the blackened chicken gnocchi and found myself in flavor heaven. I've made and eaten a lot of gnocchi and this is easily the best I've ever had. Mae agreed with me and suggested it's because there's cheese in those potato pillows. I dunno but I would eat this every day if I could. If I thought they'd keep, I'd buy extra and take some home. Meanwhile the bar crowd was friendly and chatty as we watched soccer on a few TVs. It was pretty chill, everyone just kicking back with great beer, tasty food and a worldwide sporting event. That said, I'm not waiting four years to come back!

Sat outside most recently and brought our toddler. She got to run around and explore. The fineapple cider on draft is my favorite and so refreshing. Menu wise has so many options. We went with the beer bites and cheese. The food cane out hot and the cheese is so good with the pretzels. The kids grilled cheese was a big size and tasty. Love the shoestring fries. So impressed with all of their drinks they make in house. Came another time for dinner with a friend to catch up. A large group took over the dining room. Stayed way past they were done with their food and drink. They stayed 5 hours and disrupted the restaurant. Our waitress gave us a small discount for how annoying these people were. She said staff were even over them.

We ended the day at PARC -- and honestly, we couldn't have chosen better. The location on Woodward Avenue overlooking Campus Martius is stunning, and we arrived right at the start of spring with fresh tulips outside that made the whole scene feel even more special. I went straight for the Cracker Jack Old Fashioned -- caramel-infused bourbon with actual Cracker Jacks. Sounds fun, tastes incredible. One of the more creative cocktails I've had in a long time. The drink selection here is extensive and the bartenders clearly know what they're doing. For dinner I had a medium rare steak cooked to perfection with potatoes -- classic done right. We were a sharing kind of table and took bites of several other dishes. Everything was fresh, well-executed, and satisfying. San Pellegrino flowing, great conversation, great food. The service was the cherry on top -- knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely warm. Our waiter knew the menu cold and made the whole evening feel effortless. If you're visiting Detroit even for just a few hours, make time for PARC. It delivers across the board.

The place has plenty of TVs, which made it easy to keep watching games and keep the sports-bar spirit alive a bit longer. The staff was pleasant and friendly, and everything felt easygoing in a way that suited the evening nicely. We got a few pitchers of beer at a great price, which certainly helped morale, and the French fries were an excellent bar bite option. Overall, good postgame stop.

Wow... what a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. At first glance, as I…read morearrived at valet, I was genuinely proud to see this Black-owned brick-and-mortar in person for the first time. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that it would also be the last. The valet attendant was attentive and professional, and the host staff greeted me as I walked in. So far, so good! The bar wasn't busy, but I figured it was still kind of early and things could liven up. I was meeting friends for a birthday toast, and they were already seated at the bar. When I approached, we were very excited to see one another, so naturally, we took a moment to catch up. I noticed there was one bartender in the service well who was busy making drinks and therefore understandably unable to greet me. There was another bartender conversing with patrons standing next to my barstool and another bartender on the far end. Now, as someone with a background in food & beverage, I naturally exercise patience in casual dining atmospheres because service can be a little laxed--which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not expecting the bartender to teleport across the room because I walked in. However, in this case, after greeting my friends, we wanted to do a round of shots in honor of the birthday girl. After several minutes, we still had not been approached by a bartender. Not to mention, the bartender conversing just to my right was STILL carrying on with the same gentlemen patrons. After a continued wait, the birthday girl decided to flag down the bartender, who acknowledged us with eye contact... ...and then continued her conversation. Ma'am. That was very unprofessional, but we were in such great spirits that we decided to overlook it and try to get the attention of a different bartender. Now, hindsight being 20/20, we should've left right then. This same bartender, standing not even 3 feet away from us, eventually finished her conversation and walked away. She actually ended up standing at the service well in plain sight of us, where she then pulled out her cellphone to devote some obviously much-needed quality screen time. We were in utter shock. Within a few moments, the bartender originally on the far end of the bar had made her way to our side to take a new set of patrons' order who had just appeared to my right. Once again, the birthday girl calls out and asks if it would be possible for her to assist us when she was done. To our dismay, the lady looks at us with absolutely ZERO emotion and simply states, "Yea." Not exactly the response we expected, but hey... it's Detroit. We are natives, although I no longer live locally, so we know customer service isn't necessarily the city's strongest suit. ‍ After Ms. Dead Emotions prepared drinks for the new set of patrons, she followed suit with the previous bartender and walked over to the service well for some R&R with Screen Time Girl. And THAT was the moment we realized these bartenders did not come to work... They came to clock in. At this point, I decided to ask for a manager. The nice woman I approached asked me what it was regarding, and I explained what we had experienced and told her it was disappointing, to say the least. She seemed rational and understanding and offered to send a waitress to the bar to serve us. I thanked her and went back to my seat. It was obvious that the bartenders had been made aware of my grievances because their demeanors and facial expressions suddenly had a LOT to say. At that point, we realized training, support, and customer service may be an unrecognized area of opportunity by upper management. The server was busy with tables but eventually made her way over. She seemed very nice. However, by that point, we had decided we would leave. As we sat there conversing about this unbelievable experience and discussing other bars we could go to instead, a few patrons walked up to our side of the bar to introduce themselves and ask about our plans and whether we would stick around to have a drink with them. When we informed them we were leaving, they asked why. We gave them the short version as we prepared to leave. Sadly, they weren't surprised--but they offered AGAIN to make it right. Imagine customers offering to make it right. ‍ Just before leaving, one of our group stepped away to the restroom. At that point, Screen Time finally walked up and, exasperatedly, asked if we wanted anything. IKYFL. The birthday girl, who is sweet-natured, was understandably disappointed, so I decided, you know what? We'll take a shot for the road. A simple Don Julio Repo shot took longer than it should have... ...but the bill came IMMEDIATELY. And, of course, an automatic 20% gratuity was the cherry on top. At this point, all I could do was laugh. Beautiful restaurant. Great first impression. Unfortunately, the actual experience was a completely different story. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
