Olympic Blinds - This is the blind in question

I begin this review by saying I have reached the point where I have no alternative but to take this…read morebusiness to Small Claims Court. Here's why: Early last August we met with a sales rep to begin an order for blinds at our living room, dining room, and kitchen. It wasn't until mid-September that blinds were ready to install. During the install of the living room blinds, we discovered that they were not motorized, as we requested. Also, the dining room's large set of windows wasn't yet complete so they had to re-order those, too, because of lack of motorization. Finally, on Oct. 22, Mark installed our motorized blinds. One of 3 of the living room blinds didn't work, so he told us he would reorder the blind. Also, the blinds in the dining room operate the opposite direction we need. Mark said, "Oh well." Mean time they fired our sales rep. We have been pleading with owner, Gavin, ever since to correct this. He refuses to honor their 90-day warranty for a bad blind and then tells us in a google review that we should expect 100% satisfaction. Well Gavin, when will you make good on this.? You refuse to return our calls, emails, and even visits to your store! This is the worst company in Olympia for customer service. Steer clear and save yourself a lot of misery.

Olympic Blinds took possession of my blinds for a warranty issue and kept them for approximately seven months. They still have them! Throughout that time, delays were repeatedly attributed to the manufacturer, yet no clear timeline or resolution was provided. Communication has been consistently poor. The vice president of the company, who is also the owner's son and was responsible for handling this issue, did not return phone calls, voicemails, or emails from either me or my husband. Communication, when it occurred at all, was limited to text messages. During this process, I was told things like "It's busy season" and that they would "get to it when they can." I was also told that pursuing small claims court would be "a waste of time and money." Twice I have been told my blinds were on there way back from the manufacturer. I still have no blinds. Despite these assurances, months have passed with no resolution. I was given inconsistent information and had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic updates. At one point, I contacted the manufacturer directly and was told they were waiting on authorization from Olympic Blinds to proceed. Even after requesting a refund, the owner never contacted me at any point during the seven months this issue has continued. After researching further, I noticed that many Yelp reviews describe similar issues, including poor communication, extended delays, and difficulty with warranties. My experience closely mirrored those complaints. The lack of responsiveness, follow-through, and accountability -- particularly at the management level -- resulted in a significant waste of my time and left me without my blinds or a resolution. Based on how this situation is being handled, I would not recommend Olympic Blinds to anyone who expects reliable warranty service, professional communication, or timely follow-through

He did however articulate that he would still want to operate in a consultative capacity in some shape or form in the future. Seth's record of being communicative, professional, patience and being an all around good guy is true and came across that way. I wish him well in his future endeavors in whatever capacity he feels he would like to operate in as people like him are a value add to our community and society.

Hands down Seth with Apex is the go to if you're looking for great customer service,…read moreprofessionalism, and vast selection in Seattle. I live in a high rise condo with post tension cable (I still don't fully understand what this means other than it holds the building together and if someone damages it, it can compromise the entire integrity of the building structure - Serious stuff!) in Seattle with very strict rules regarding who can drill into the ceiling. After speaking to 3 different companies in the area about upgrading the wire blinds in my condo, I was about to give up. One company was very short with me and didn't follow up; the other two didn't want to go anywhere near the post tension cable. When I reached out to Seth, I tried to set the proper expectations regarding the challenges I've had. He was very optimistic, said he was up for the challenge and came out the next day to assess the situation. He answered all my questions, addressed all my concerns and even provided some design/style tips. I decided to go with the top down/bottom up motorized Hunter Douglas honey comb shades. Seth also chased down my HOA board to get all the appropriate approvals needed to install the blinds in our condo. The very next day I had a reasonable quote and swatches of samples started showing up a few days later. The installation went very well too. The certified Hunter Douglas installation team was able to get the job done in about 3 hours and took the time to show me how to operate them. Seth was of course on site to help make sure everything went smoothly. I could not be happier with my new blinds, and so glad I took his advice and went with the motorized blinds instead of manual - best money ever spent!
