Pretty disappointed in our new flooring. Will say that Dee is the only reason I was happy at any point in this transaction! She tried really hard to help whenever she could and was really sweet and polite. But there was just too many issues. The first install team showed up with no masks during covid. When asked to wear them for my safety, they said no, citing that they don't work according to WHO (really?). They left and I called the store. The sub was claiming to them that he has a lung condition. Doesn't match with his story to me and doesn't excuse the 2 other guys who weren't wearing them and said they didn't even have any. The second install team came the next day and what was supposed to be a 2 day job turned into 5 because they were down 1 guy and this one worked SLOW. Multiple times they scratched the new floors when moving our appliances which we paid them to do assuming they wouldn't scratch them. Passive aggressive attitude was given when asked to fix it or he just covered it up so I wouldn't see until later. In some instances he just marked the floor with a black sharpie and didn't even try to make it blend. There's a poorly cut edge under the stairs where the edge of the board is visible where the carpet on the stairs starts. Found it with my foot while vacuuming and really surprised I didn't cut myself. Multiple boards are not clicked in properly. One has a cut from one side to another that I'm being told by another of their subs is part of the texture, but no other board in the entire 900 Sq ft of lvp is that way and no other contractor that has seen it agrees. Just looks like another deep scratch being covered up. There are 2 boards with chips in them. And to top it all off, when I asked the sub to fix an entire row of boards during the job because they weren't clicked in properly, he went outside and got on the phone and started using the f word in my reference telling someone that he had to redo the whole living room because of a f'n scratch. My husband and 2 year old got to hear the whole thing from the open garage. Our fridge was dented (which the company says they've never done and wouldn't acknowledge it was their fault even though the sub told me it was, and they did absolutely nothing about it), they threw away quarter round we were supposed to reuse so we had to go buy new quarter round, and all of our baseboards were broken which they claim they said it would happen and it was in their contract that they won't fix (I was sent the contract and do not see that language). They paid for new baseboards but I still had to pay for install and painting which cost me an extra 1k for another company to do it, much better than what the crappy sub wanted to charge me in cash under the table. Staples left in the carpet and in the grass, pieces of flooring left all over my yard, they stole our broom that looked like theirs but in much better condition (which they said they returned but never got it back).... The company sent out another sub to look at the issue with boards being being clicked in wrong and the chips and crack. He didn't wear a mask except for the moment I opened the door and since the base had already been installed, he said he would have to take it all off to fix it right but other boards may be damaged in the process. Not the answer I wanted to hear so at this point, I just give up trying to fix it if that's all the company can offer me. All in all, we'll never recommend this company to anyone. Most of it has to do with the subs crappy work but I'm really bummed about how little the company seemed to care about fixing the problems (other than Dee). Really thought abbey carpet was a good name but very disappointed. read more

Recently, the staff at Floor Express helped me upgrade the kitchen and flooring in my home in Lacey. My goal was to prepare the house for sale in about a year. Heather helped me choose new LVT flooring for the main floor, quartz kitchen countertop and backsplash tile. In addition, she helped identify the craftspersons to do the installations. Heather completed all the ordering of materials and supplies needed. She also scheduled all the installations to fit my schedule. As expected with this kind of project, there was some troubleshooting needed and Heather handled that as well. I am very pleased with the results. In fact, when I sold the home I got more than the asking price and I'm sure these upgrades had something to do with that outcome. read more

We had a confirmed carpet installation date for this morning between 9 - 9:30. At 9:45 I called Floor Express because no installers had shown up yet. Surprisingly, I was told Floor Express had no idea where our carpet was, and LAST WEEK when the delivery truck arrived to their location in Tumwater they were unable to unload our carpet because it was at the bottom of the pile of a bunch of rolls of carpet. (?) So the truck just drove away, apparently with no plan on when or if it would ever return? Why didn't the salesperson contact us right then to say we would need to reschedule our installation date? After working all last week and weekend late into the evenings to empty (4) bedrooms and an office, we then got up extra early this morning to break down beds and move mattresses out of the rooms to be ready for the installation appointment of this morning at 9 a.m. As with all things in life, this entire frustrating experience could have been avoided with communication. The salesperson had a responsibility to call us and tell us they would not be able to fulfill their agreement. The fact he did not do so shows what kind of company this is. Now we are being told they are doing us a favor and driving today to some far away warehouse to pick up our carpet, our new appointment is tomorrow at 10:30, and could go as late as 8 p.m. Fingers crossed they actually show up! If you choose to do business with Floor Express, be forewarned what kind of customer service you will receive, and hopefully your roll of carpet is on top of the pile instead of the bottom! Not to worry, though, they are quick to offer a Starbucks card when they know they have ruined your experience. read more

Heather, so what you are saying is, that when the person from your store comes to take measurements, goes back to the store, I get an email estimate, looks good, I call the store to find out when the work can be done and then drive to the store, sign a contract and pay half and get told at the time I'm in the store the installers will be there Friday morning, all this done within a few hours, how could I miss the spot. If you folks would have told me you were 3 or 4 weeks I probably wouldn't have signed a contract and payed half. And yet again it's the customers fault. read more

After writing a negative review about the work we had done by Abbey Carpet, they have since fixed our floor to satisfaction. Andy the owner has been extremely professional in every way to correct our problem with our floor. I would call upon this company again for my next flooring project. While the subcontractors installed the floor well, the dealings with Floor Express were frustrating, and at times, downright rude. We will not be utilizing Floor Express this fall when we re-floor two more rooms. We'll be skipping them as a middle man, and ordering online as we've done in the past. It's cheaper, faster, and more reliable. We used Floor Express this time because we'd hoped to support a local business. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

I have personally worked for this company years ago, as well as their competitors. Floor Express is a wonderful company to do business with and for. I have read the one star reviews and it is plain to see that the customers are those "difficult" customers, the job will "never" be right. Typically flooring stores sense this early on to be honest. These are the same type of clients that don't want carpet seams to show...umm....look at your shirt,,,do you see the seam. NEVER EVER expect to have "painted" trims untouched,,,,why do people paint trim?? I will never understand those people. Trim molds being left off or forgotten...extremely common error...getting the installer to come back to a job to install can be a NIGHTMARE--The good ones come back within a couple days or week...the bad ones..well customer "They" didn't care about you only themselves because it was not worth their time, serious lack of customer service on their part. ANY installer that talks smack about a store they pull jobs out of says enough,,,who would poo in their mess kit??? obvious disgruntled individual, not only is it unprofessional it is also professional suicide. I wish "Scott's" business name or last name was posted. I prefer working for an actual flooring store and their expertise, those that are selling it have installed it more times than not....the folks at Home Depot or Lowes...um not so much. If you truly are unhappy and you are discounted or given your floor for free and still complain?!....um,,,why? Guess that also says enough of that type of customer,,,I mean mistakes happen and you are dealing with a store owner whom is dealing with an installation business owner...they both have equal liabilities to your job,,,,but you paid the store..I get it..so the store is doing it's best to make another business owner do their job. If the owner is discounting or buying all new material, paying someone to Un-install and re-install your job....who do you think should be more upset? Scheduling issues, appointments get over-booked, Airlines over sell seats, if you want your job done tomorrow and someone says they can,,go by a lottery ticket ASAP because you are quite lucky :) Mistakes happen, Accidents happen...See Floor Express reviews on Google, its a better reflection of who they are. read more

Customer Beware! The contracor they sent out to install the wood flooring damaged my baseboards and door frames and cut most of the wood inside my home, leaving a layer of sawdust throughout my home. He did not install the wood according to the manufacturer's guidelines, voiding my warranty. I was belittled and my concerns were given very little validation by the owners, Andy and Heather. I am now left with a floor that may eventually buckle and flex. I also have to pay to have my baseboards, damage to my walls and door frames repaired. We had an outstanding experience with Floor Express. Before going here we went to three other locations. All gave us time and attention, but we were only met at the door by Floor Express. We needed a rush order and they were willing to reasonably accommodate. We felt very well taken care of from start to finish. The carpet layers performed an outstanding job for us to include a quick follow up for a minor spot. We were not uncomfortable at all in inviting them into our home. They left the room and carpet perfectly clean. Our main point of contact was Dee who we can't say enough about. We will most definitely return for further upgrades. read more

I went to Abbey's because I was hoping for professionalism more than the box stores. Unfortunately, it was not what we got. I scheduled a living room floor replacement two months in advance when the family was gone on vacation. Two weeks before the scheduled week, they called and said they had to move it up a week. So we did and moved the furniture outside as requested. That new scheduled day came and they did not show up. I called and was told they were having to finish another job. Two days later (furniture still outside) they show up. But, the planner had failed to note the asbestos flooring that needed to be removed and not by them. We removed it ourselves and waited for their return. It went on like this for a full month with our furniture still outside. Every step was a problem. The tile they provided was warped and unusable (it had been sitting in the 100 degree sun for two weeks). They explained they were not familiar with the product. It was new to them. They had ordered the wrong underlayment. When I asked to talk about these issues they treated me like I was an idiot. Maybe they have so much work they don't need to care about customer relations but I absolutely to not recommend Abbey flooring. I actually would have had a better experience going to the big box stores. BTW, they don't do the installation, they subcontract it out so all they are doing is selling you the floor. read more

They came out to our house we are remodeling as a courtesy to measure for flooring. The sales person ordered 7 additional boxes of flooring than what we needed. When we tried to return them we were told for the first time we only had a 30 day return policy. Nothing was said prior to this and there is a 15% restocking fee they forgot to tell us about. So they made money off our returns too. Will never go back or recommend that you go there! read more

I found Andy and Heather to be completely honest people. Their prices are very reasonable. My old kitchen floor needed replacing. Their technician, with over 30 years of experience, removed my old flooring and installed a beautiful new floor. How he moved that heavy refrigerator of mine is beyond me. ;-) Heather has a great eye for color and style, and I used her suggestions. Floor looks beautiful.
