Look at that thick slice of pizza with tons of toppings
Rachel M.

Update. They've really gone way downhill. Hardly any sauce.. and that's with us asking for heavy sauce. Not as much toppings as before either. The pizza was over cooked with burnt crust on 1/2 of it. This pizza was nothing like the first time we ordered it. The 12" pizza slices are small enough for a toddler to hold and could easily eat a few pieces of. Very disappointing. Look at the pictures from my original review compared to the ones I just posted. My husband ordered on line and they still got his name wrong when he went to pick it up.

Breadsticks are soft on the inside with a crispy bottom. Pizza is clearly fresh with all ingredients. I'm a Coke guy and they are Pepsi, but I won't knock them too hard for that one. Service was pretty standard, nothing super special. Plenty of seating

Great spot for some truly amazing and unique pizza options! We went here for a Greenwood book club (which meets here monthly and orders pizza which is a win win in my book...literature humor). The staff was friendly and quite efficient for our large group and had a great attitude. Orders were taken quickly and for the rush it was quickly made as well in my opinion, hardly any time to wait at all! Well done! We loved that they have vegan options for cheese and sausages as well as gluten free crust options too. We got a mostly veggie one with goat's cheese that had a tangy sauce and some great flavors. I would for sure get it again as it was good that night and the next when we had our leftovers. We will be back here for both the food and atmosphere, and not just for book club either!

The GP pizza super delish

We always passed by this place and wondered if it's good and today was the day we tried and their GP Pizza was super delish. It was actually fast we did t wait long for it.

Great pizza place. Kind of a cool bohemian artsy look and feel. Great service. Very friendly hostess and server. They made sure we had drinks, boxes and got the food out quickly. The food was great. We started with salad. My wife got a simple salad (lettuce and tomato) and I got the house salad lettuce, tomato, black olives, cucumber, onion and tons of Parmesan cheese with a really good honey mustard dressing. For dinner we got a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza. It was awesome! Super crispy crust with lots of slightly spicy sauce and tons of toppings. Price was reasonable. The issue right now is that there is pretty major road construction in front of the place but the restaurant was still accessible and definitely worth the extra effort to get there.

As a new resident of indianapolis, I had to sort out top 15 pizza places and try them out. 1st in list jocomo upper crust at greenwood. Ambience is very nice. You will see family, extended family, couples etc enjoying their food. I prefer veg pizza so we ordered a carpese pizza, jocomo spl pizza. Pizza looked good. However it was not ny style or italian like pizza. Crust was thick. Some how the pizzas were simple but i couldnt appreciate the taste. The smell of sauce, cheese didnt go well. May return after trying rest 14 places.

Happen to be up in the area one day this weekend & couldn't NOT stop to grab a pizza on my way home. I called in a to-go order on Sunday around 6:00pm. They said my pizza would be ready in about 25 minutes. When I got to Jockomo their outside patio was filled & the inside had very few open tables. Luckily I was just picking up a to-go pizza. My pizza made the 1.5 hour drive home. And it was amazing. I have only had the Thai pizza once before & I am very happy to say this time was just as amazing as I remember tasting it for the first time. I cannot recommend the Thai pizza enough. It's so unique. Definitely cannot find it or something like it anywhere else. They really know what they are doing with that pizza. The Slaughterhouse Five did not disappoint. Juicy meats. Tasty in flavor. Perfect for people who love all of the meats. Really wish we had a Jockomo in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area. I need Thai pizza in my life on a more frequent basis!

I tend to be picky where pizza is concerned, but Jockamos has not let me down! We always get the breadsticks with the creamy parmesan dipping sauce...so good!! We don't even get a second sauce! And we always order the Dillinger Pizza. It's not your typical pepperoni and sausage. And it's loaded with flavor! I really love that the pizzas have thin, crispy crusts. They have both draft and canned beer. The draft is mostly local, which is good, but there's not a big selection. We've always been greeted when we've walked in, and our servers have always been friendly. I definitely recommend Jockamos the next time you're in the mood for pizza!

It's very cool on the inside with vintage and Indiana-themed decor, tin ceilings, and, of course, a potbelly stove. The staff were friendly. But brother and I were very confused about the ordering process. There wasn't a lot of directional signage showing where to start and each step of the process. I watched a few other customers go through and they didn't seem like they had a problem so maybe it was just us. Next time I would probably just order online and pick it up so I could avoid the in-person ordering process altogether. I had the turkey sandwich and it was pretty good. I would say definitely a step up from your typical sub sandwich chain in terms of flavor and toppings options. I tried the chili mac as well. The chili is definitely à la Wendy's but I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese was good as well. I'd probably get either on its own but not together again. I also tried the Potbelly/Zapp's collab chips, the Hot Pepper flavor. They were good but are definitely not for everyone. When I visited, most of their fountain soda options were out of order so I settled on a no sugar added Pineapple Passionfruit juice/soda which was actually pretty good. We'll definitely be back - especially to try out their milkshakes!

She wanted to take a Rueben home to her husband but it was a flight away, so the staff let her buy all the fixings and then make it at home. Amazing! It traveled well that way and got to be enjoyed by others. Will always go back to this spot as it has a special place in my heart as my Dad loved it, and it is an I su classic!

Situated right across the street from Lucas Oil Stadium (aka "The House That Peyton Built"), Shapiros is easily accessible and has an inviting vibe to it. We stopped in for lunch today while in town for business and they were moderately busy. The restaurant is kind of a deli/cafeteria hybrid with a little bit of everything (similar to Katz in NYC). Shapiro's is known for their corn beef and pastrami, so naturally I had to give the Reuben a try... Great sandwich and the sides (potato and broccoli salads were good too), but my God was this place absurdly over priced. $45 for lunch (one person) is not customer price gouging, but rather mafia-like extortion... Yikes. While Shapiro's was really good, it's not as good as Slyman's in Cleveland (which you can get lunch for about half the price of Shapiro's).

While I got mine to go, this would be a great place to meet someone for breakfast or lunch as they also serve some bakery items like açaí bowls, juices and sandwiches. Loved chatting with the owner and the barista working the front counter who advised me on what flavor matcha to get. I will definitely go back to try some other things!

I gave a different review back when the company had a different name (Roots to Rise) - same ownership - and I hadn't been impressed with their coffee or açaí bowls. With the new branding, I figured I'd visit again & stick to juices. They quickly became my post-yoga stop on weekends. I would have went before work on weekdays but they aren't open early enough for that. Today after I ordered I was warned there were a few orders ahead of me. That knowledge before ordering would have been more helpful. Normally a 5 minute wait or so, I was guessing a 15 minute wait would be reasonable. I went outside listened to 3 songs, back in, still no drink, went back out- 2 more songs, back in, still nothing. Ordered at 11:15, drink was done at 11:51. I think good business would have been upping my size for free, or a coupon, or even a thanks for your patience. A simple, "Thanks," while kind enough, caught me off guard. Any gesture to recognize that wait was unreasonably long would have sufficed. The juice was still delicious, I can't lie. I don't know if it's staffing (2 employees on Sat. morning- no Now Hiring sign tho) or what, but if you are in any kind of time crunch, I'd probably avoid the wait. If you are on vacation time- by all means- go enjoy their offerings. I realize it's what comes with a small business, but also something to recognize an unusually long wait would also be a small business quality. I'm disheartened by this. Greenwood is very slack on fresh juice options, although I saw an Ever-Well going in on 31.

I…read morevisited it with my friend Luis, who is Peruvian, on the second day of our trip to Indianapolis for a hardcore festival. Weary after a full morning of sets and performances, we sought respite and a proper lunch meal, and found both here. The restaurant is unassuming, housed in a humble tin hut. To me this was a green flag, as the finest restaurants I visited across Latin America looked precisely like this. We eagerly pored over a menu with many tempting options. Guided by Luis's expertise, we ordered the tilapia ceviche to share, the chicharrón sandwich for him (the viral sandwich apparently), and the lomo saltado for me. Everything was cooked to order, so the food took twenty-five to thirty minutes to arrive - it was entirely worth the wait. The ceviche was impeccably fresh, with tender yet crisp calamari and a generous portion. The bright tang of lime, the plump Peruvian choclo kernels, the toasted cancha, and the sweet camote made it irresistible to stop eating. My only wish was for some plantain chips or slices on the side. The sandwiches then arrived, and they were phenomenal. I was captivated by my lomo saltado, its beef tenderloin strips tender and seasoned to perfection, bathed in a juicy, savoury sauce that was perfect to be mopped with bread. The standout was the extraordinary wok hei. Luis explained that Peruvian chefs have long cooked in woks, as Chinese and Hakka influences, dating to the 1800s, gave rise to the beloved chifa tradition. One can really taste that history in every bite. My only reservation is that the dish was a bit too salty toward the end, so I would suggest ordering the bread on the side so it won't soak up too much of the juice all at once. Overall, it was a wonderful and deeply satisfying meal. The bill came to roughly $65 USD, which is not cheap, but the quality and freshness more than justified it. We shall return the next time we find ourselves in Indianapolis.

The jus didn't do a whole lot for the sandwich but the cheese sauce was fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Chicago Dog. She added a little ketchup which I did holler at her for the sin, no worries. We got three separate side items to share. We got basic French Fries, Onion Rings and Chicken Tenders. All three are delicious. The fries are standard crinkle cut fries. Hard to mess those up. The chicken tenders are huge, juicy and very crunchy. The onion rings in my opinion are the best of the three sides we ordered. Dipping the onion rings in the au jus was fantastic. I enjoy the comeback sauce as well with all items and of course the cheese sauce goes with everything. Overall Portillo's the second time around was miles better for us. We will return again.

I think some of the problem is that they have relatively large rolls/bread which throws off the ratios and makes it feel skimpy. They either need to bake a 20% smaller roll or add 20% more protein to really make each bite satisfying. That said, the ingredients they use are actually good. I could actually taste the spiciness in the capicola and the salami had a nice rich flavor, they also topped the italian with a herby vinaigrette which was great. The fries are slightly more on the shoe string thinness which was fun but flavor was pretty standard. Overall this place isn't bad but it has some stiff competition, you get better price-performance from a cheaper chain and probably a better overall gourmet sub from Capriotti's which isn't that far although you'll probably pay 2x the price.
