We are an active duty military family who were long time patients of this office. It was years too long and I wish we had left much sooner. Although the overall care was decent enough I suppose (especially if you can get an appt with Kushon's partner at the office who was a very pleasant Dr), the staff--in particular one of the front desk women--were incredibly unprofessional, rude and extremely condescending which made visiting or even the mere act of calling an unpleasant experience. I found myself often silently hoping that particular staff member would not answer the phone simply so I would not have to deal with her. It became so bad over time that I actually left a message to file a complaint with Dr Kushon but she either never received this message or didn't bother to call me back to address it. In addition, they do not look kindly if you ask a question regarding your care--even if asked just in a curious way. The low cost glasses? You get what you pay for. When my RX changed for the worse, I ordered a pair only to have the staff hand them to me with scratched lenses and once on, I expressed concern that they offered no improvement over my old glasses with weaker lenses. My vision was not sharp and did not offer me the results I should have. They begrudgingly reordered them but there was no change in the vision--it was still as if I was putting one my old glasses with a weaker lens. I expressed continued concern that perhaps I was measured incorrectly or the wrong RX was ordered but they offered no assistance past that point and I was stuck with glasses I could barely use except when inside. I finally had enough and switched offices to a wonderful provider out in Chesapeake who staffs only the most professional, friendly, quality individuals and my family could not be happier. However, when I went to pick up my records from Kushon's office, i was met with the same old rudeness and attitude--which is a shame considering how long my family were patients. I would highly recommend you avoid this office until staff changes are made and quality care is made a priority. read more
