Always wait for their 50% off coupons, which come out every few weeks. Sometimes there is a coupon for another 15% off your entire purchase. It makes high end fabric ($30-$60 per yard) very accessible. The selection pulls you in. Fleece was on sale for $5/yd one trip and I made a few pullover hoodies with an easy to sew pattern even though I'd never thought of working with fleece or for that matter making a hoodie. Not having what you need to get started on a project is a total buzz kill. Unless I'm looking for a really unusual notion I find it here. Be ready for a monster line for the really big sales, but it's worth it.

First off - the info posted in yelp says it is a non-profit. That is not the case…read more What a disappointment. They are a for profit company that takes your donations and sells them to make money. They say they donate some of the profits. The issue is they have a long list of things they wont accept. So when you are clearing out your craft supplies make sure you have a printout of everything they don't want. For people accepting free things, this seems a little drastic. If you get a binder or a fake flower you dont want, just throw it in the trash. There were a pair of pants in the box that I was told is unacceptable. Fine, throw it away have someone standing around walk it next door to the clothing resale. I liked the idea of donating craft supplies to a crafting store but it is much easier to just toss most of the new stuff along with the slightly used stuff in the trash.

We stopped by and I bought a Quilt Across Texas kit to make for my son. Before I left for home I reviewed the fabric quantities to confirm that everything was there, which it was. Fast forward 2 1/2 years. I was going over the directions and realized that although the quantities of fabric matched the directions, they were incorrect and I was short yardage for two fabrics. I searched in vain on line for the fabrics. I contacted Jill at Minding My P's and Q's and she went out of her way and actually found the exact same fabrics and shipped them to me up here! Which is good because we don't have much Texas type fabric up here! Excellent customer service, even long distance and years after the sale!!!

I was greeted when I entered, but after that, I walked around the store without anyone offering assistance or engaging with me, while I observed employees interacting with other customers. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic customer service when I'm spending my money. Rather than make an issue of it, I simply left and purchased the scissors from another sewing store where I felt welcomed and was happy to spend my money. Sometimes the best response is simply to choose where you do business.

They have a nice selection of fabric. Turnover of fabric is quick at this shop. If you see it and like it, buy it. If you wait, it won't be there next time you look. There is a corner with sale fabrics. Always look there. There is yardage and fat quarters. They have a great selection of notions. Twice I have been there sewing and needed something specific and they had it. Those little dots, that you put on your finger when hand sewing protect your finger from the needle. Also, I needed Roxanne's Glue Baste it and they had it. It is so valuable to not have to stop what you're doing because you ran out of supplies. Here is another bonus, they have an event center that is always bustling with activity. Free sew on Tuesdays and Thursdays is really fun. Hours are 10:00am - 3:00pm. Ironing boards, cutting tables and plenty of sewing tables to set up your stuff. I like buying here. It's a great shop to support for local sewing. The owners are quite involved and are not absentee. Recently, I used them to move from Arlington to Denton, and the move as always was FAST and smooth. The communication with their main office for scheduling is great. They take an estimate of your things and furniture to give you a quote. After that, I received about 2 phone calls leading up to the move to make sure the date and time was still okay, and to check if there was any more items to needed to be added or taken away. Move day was the best. They came on time. They knew where to park in my apartment complex. They were in and out within about less than 2 hours. The drive to Denton was about an hour, so the guys went somewhere to eat and refuel. Perfect communication along the way though. The move in my home was flawless. They asked where everything needed to go. Didn't get an scratches or dings along the way. They were careful with my furniture and bigger items. At the end, the entire move lasted about 4 hours total. That's not bad with a big couch, multiple tvs, a dinner table, 1x king bed, 2 dressers, another guest bed, office disk and game chair, and multiple big paintings. They got a big tip from me.
