And you create a space that honors the building and updating it with warm wood and fixtures, you're doing it right in my opinion. I loved the selections offered here and so did my daughters and granddaughter. Yes, I bought books here and my granddaughter was thrilled. There's a dedicated children's area with nice seating for them. There was a touch of magic there. Kids were happy and couldn't wait to get to the next book. That is what a book store is supposed to be about. I met the owners and both are genuinely nice and they care about their customers and their business. Both are very knowledgeable and more than happy to help in any way. If you're in Denton, you need to drop in and browse around - I bet you walk out with a great book!

Such is Patchouli Joe's Books & Indulgences. This is one of the most charming bookstores you will encounter. They have books for everyone, but I was taken back with the adorable children's sections I have seen in a bookstore. This Indie Bookstore really has a nice vibe to it. Part of that comes from the helpful people who work here, part of it from the other customers in the store. Altogether, everyone seemed to be relaxed and enjoying each other's company and the coffee/tea that they provide for their guests here. Pro Tips: 1) sign up for the rewards program 2) plan to spend a little time here because you will love it here 3) enjoy some of the delicious coffee!

Tons of old records in the back to dig through and they picked out the cream of the crop and put them up front so you don't have to look hard to find something great. They had great prices and with every 10 dollars you spend you get a free 3 dollar record as well. When I was digging in the back the lady who works there kept checking in on me to see if I needed anything and even adjusted the A/C to be more comfortable for me to dig in. They have 3 larger rooms of neatly organized records broken into sub genre and then alphabetized. It was extremely easy to find what I was looking for and the staff were very helpful. This place is essentially a secret 3rd great record store in denton. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back as soon next weekend.

Their selection of hard-to-find vinyl and books is legitimately impressive, and complemented by a bunch of other collectible pop art. Posters, cassettes, toys, comic books. The National Symphony Orchestra is simply the best representative for these United States on the performance stage, and they share a place in my heart, because I actually was blessed with the sacred fortune of joining the orchestra in St. Petersburg, and Moscow in the year 1990. Students of history will remember that the Berlin Wall came crash down, and I was blessed with fortune of witnessing history in the moment of finality and sincere graceful end. The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

If you want a quick-and-dirty commercial fix, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
