The selection at this Barnes and Nobles location is wonderful. They have books for a vast array of genres, an area for children, and it is staffed with many people. I live in Dallas, and being a children's book author, I visit a lot of bookstores. I have been to most Barnes & Noble stores in the Dallas area, and I explain this to set the stage for my next comment. The children's section in the Denton Barnes & Noble store has the most visually exciting displays I have ever seen! When I walked towards the children's section and saw the fabulous displays on the walls, it drew me in, like a child walking into the storybooks we have all loved. Please see my pictures so you can understand what I am talking about. It's whimsical, magical, and makes you feel like a child should feel for a safe and exciting place to read and learn about books. I want a room in my house to look like the children's section of this store. It would be a dream come true. read more

me my mom and my grandmother went looking for a lego set we found the two by a 25% off sign by them. we went to the checkout and they rung them up and there was no sale we questioned the workers about it and went and grabbed a random set from a girls section and they told us that only the sets with stickers were on sale when we told them there were not any sets with stickers then they said very rudely "Are you gonna get it or not" we put the stuff back and they were very disrespectful about it. we will never be going back and I would highly encourage you not to go either. read more

I like to stop into Barnes & Noble from time to time. I looooove books, but I generally do my book shopping at half price types of places so I can hoard more of them and drive my husband crazy with the stacks that don't fit on bookshelves. However, despite my preference to lurk amongst used books in cheap and cramped stores, I just love to come here and browse amongst all the shiny, new books with their promotional displays and bright lights. I like to check out genres I wouldn't have thought of or check to see if any of my favorite authors have a new book I didn't know about. This location is in the mall, but has it's own entrance from the parking lot. You don't even have to enter the mall, so the only real downside is that the parking lot gets crowded. They always keep it nice and cool at a comfortable temperature, which makes browsing a more leisurely and enjoyable process. I've had limited interactions with the staff, but they have always been friendly and ask if I need help. They also have a café there. I've only been a handful of times, but it's tucked away and the employees are polite. The things I've tried have been tasty, but I haven't stopped in there in quite a while. On my last visit, I was approached in the aisle with a free sample of a latte and a coupon from the sweetest girl. The latte was a generous portion for a sample and delicious, reminding me I should stop in more often. What I love about this location is how they use their space. It seems so big and open, but there are still so many books. I like that their displays have the books facing out. Yes, that's less books on the shelf, but it makes it easier and faster for me, the customer, to see the selection quickly and find what I'm looking for. Well, more accurate to say it's easier to grab my attention with the cover art and make me pick up a book and look at the description... thus, slowing me down. Doesn't matter, still love it! Now, I've always felt that the only downside to shopping at half price locations was that you never know what the selection will be. Which is great when you are just looking for fun, but not great if you are looking for something specific. So for something specific, a Barnes & Noble seems like the best spot. On my latest visit I realized that was misguided. I was shocked to notice several authors missing from a section without even looking that closely. I also noticed another author with dozens and dozens of titles only had about ten on display. That gave me pause so I asked an employee if they had a kiosk for me to do a search. She said they didn't because they were too small of a location. That was surprising, but I looked around and she was right. This is a smaller B&N, but they use their space really well and maximize the books they do have on display. The only thing missing would be more seating to lounge and look over potential purchases. Anyway, she looked up my inquiry at the customer service desk and confirmed they didn't have one of the authors I mentioned. I thought that was odd, turns out their selection isn't actually as big as I thought it was. What it comes down to is they have a great selection of genres, but a smaller selection within those genres. They do seem to carry all the newest releases, best sellers and a lot of educational material, which is the most important I suppose. Still, it was a bit of a bummer to learn this isn't the one stop shop I thought it was. I'll continue my usual way of book shopping, but I'll still continue to come here. I enjoy the clean, organized setup, the easy browsing and that they have a good café all in one spot. They definitely make it worth coming to the mall. read more

I almost always shop at half price books, but sometimes you just need a good, new book. I really enjoy this store. It's bright, clean, and have a large selection of pretty much everything. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I think while we were there we had 4 different people ask if they could help us. They have a very nice selection of running books which is what I was after. There were 4 different books that I wanted which is very unusual. Prices really aren't that bad, and with a teacher discount my book wasn't much more than I would have paid at Recycled Books. They have a large sale selection too. I love small businesses, but sometimes it's nice to visit a huge store. read more

Another great Barnes & Noble. This one I have been going to since it opened, and is my favorite part of Golden Triangle Mall. In my opinion it really opens up that section of the mall, brings in educated clientele, encourages reading, has probably the safest section of the mall parking lot, and has the best bathrooms in the mall. It is also very clean and has kind and professional staff. Today was my first visit in awhile and I like the little glass cases near the music section displaying various figurines and other nerdery. This location has been great every visit I have had. Their customer service is always above expectations. I am always asked if I need anything multiple times by different employees. Anytime I do need help, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. They also sell journals, stationary, cards, desk items, little treats, and more. The kid section is pretty fun, and sometimes they host events for children, and present wrapping for non-profits during the holiday season. I love the teacher discount. Make sure to bring your current teacher ID and have a couple of minutes to register. Starbucks located inside to grab a drink or a snack with lots of table to sit at. Restrooms are clean also! Large selection of magazines inside if you're looking for any specific type of magazines. I wish their travel story selection was a bit larger, but I can usually find what I am looking for. read more

The actual store is nice but the mall is pretty small and feels outdated. They have a rather good selection and they have a really nice variety of cookies and pastries and good coffee options as well. It's nice to read with a good cup of joe and a cookie. read more

Nice staff. Always friendly and helpful. Usually a nice spot to stop by and grab some coffee or tea while at the mall. They serve Starbucks coffee and still carry tazo tea which Starbucks doesn't anymore. They also have Cheesecake Factory cheesecake and various other pastries. It's sort of random but they have soup and sandwiches too. Never tried those but thought I might note it. read more

I love this Barnes & Noble. They are conveniently located in the mall but you can enter and exit from the parking lot, so you can avoid the rest of the mall if you want to. They have a super wide selection of books and different genres. I especially love the Starbucks. Usually smaller the Starbucks located inside other businesses like target have slightly lower quality beverages than a full service Starbucks. This is not the case here. The quality is totally up to par, so they do a good job of training the baristas. Speaking of, the staff is incredibly polite and patient with people who don't have experience with Starbucks or coffee in general. It's also not too busy usually, so that's a plus. One of my favorite places to study and get some work done! read more

This review is for the Starbucks inside this B&N Earlier today I ordered what I thought the most basic and convenient item for the barista to make. A pumpkin spice latte with soymilk and whip. I am fully aware that is contradictory. I explained that I just dislike milk to the cashier. It tastes funny. All the while he was being very sarcastic and rude. I was not rude to him I didn't say anything with an attitude. He is a dark haired, overweight man who looks to be in his late 20s. His voice reminds you of a wannabe Tim Gunn and he has facial hair and a round face. The entire time I was eating my cupcake and drinking my latte this rude man was making very loud comments about how I ordered soy milk instead of regular. Like it was a huge inconvenience for him to grab a different bottle. He also mentioned very loudly to a delivery man and one of the B&N employees, an overweight white woman with long curly honey blonde hair in a pink sweater that he put regular milk in my drink despite my request for soy. I also found a large clump of string in my drink later when I was drinking it and walking. I ended up throwing the drink away. THIS IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! EVER! THIS MAN DOES NOT NEED TO WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY IF HE IS NOT CAPABLE OF SERVING HIS CUSTOMERS REQUESTS! I am very displeased and will not be returning to This location for any reason I will also be calling corporate to file a formal complaint with the company. read more

This location is always clean and well organized. Every time I walk in I am able to find what I am looking for in seconds. I honestly haven't been to a bad barnes and noble. Whoever came up with the idea of creating a chain bookstore with a coffee bar inside it is a genius. Keep up the good work. read more

I haven't been to this location in a while since I don't live in Denton County anymore. This location has always been a little bit crowded, but it felt even more so during this visit. They seem to be trying to jam even more product into a limited amount of space making things kind of claustrophobic. On the plus side, the parking lot has been expanded a bit on one side in front of the B&N entrance so there are far more available spots. read more

This store's Starbucks employees are rude. Usually baristas are very helpful but these two brunette children role their eyes when you request a special drink or anything that's not a basic coffee. Barnes and nobles itself has wonderful employees but the Starbucks brats need to go. read more
