Stopped in today, and was delighted. They have a nice selection of paperbacks, cd's, albums and posters. I was greeted by Kyle, who was so friendly and knowledgeable. He was immediately able to locate and pull several albums by the old 80's band for which I was searching. He was always ready to answer a question, but didn't hover or pressure a sale in the least. Incredible store with a very impressive collection. When I got there the guy behind the register was super friendly and mentioned they have a "few more things in the back". When I walked into the back I was amazed to find that it was probably three times the size of the front room! Very cool records and cassettes, a giant collection of books, awesome posters everywhere. The cassettes and cd's I bought all work great and are in great condition. Definitely recommend! read more

I was surprised by the size of the store. From the outside it appears much smaller. It is crammed full of great used books and the vinyl selection is second to none. What a cool find! I take a random drive to find out about a restaurant at a local strip mall and I discover a book store that I never knew existed. Living in Denton, everyone knows where Recycled Books is. How could you not? It's firmly planted on the NE corner of the square and has been for years. But who knew that Books & More has been firmly planted in this city for 11 years. An eclectic array of books, records, videos, movie posters and lots of Star Wars swag. An autographed poster from Paula Abdul, yeah you know you want it. A framed Elvis record (the album that the Clash turned into their London Calling cover) and a rare Star Wars poster touting the coming of Episode IV(I think it was that one. The folks running the place were very friendly and not too surprised that I have lived in the city for over three years and not known about the shop. But if they have been around for 11 years people must be going there. I know that all books are half off the cover price and if you return the book you get 25 cents towards your next purchase. They have lots of vinyl and I saw everything from Bob Marley and Peter Tosh to Johnny Cash and oddball country music to Elvis to Kansas. Like Recycled, it's a place you can get lost in. You think it's a tiny corner sport, but the rooms snake back to more rooms and a hallway full of merchandise. Really cool. When I have time to kill and wander about I will get back over there and see what treasures I can find. Support Denton businesses! read more

This has to be one of the best bookstores I've been to for romance, like, in my top 3, if not my number 1. There is an entire room of them that I could spend hours in just scanning through all the selection. I found books I've been looking for for years in this store because that's just how great the selection is! They also have a great selection of fantasy, sci-fi, and mystery! AND a great selection of records! I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Denton/Dallas area! And this is a must visit for romance readers regardless of where you are. A Fantastic record shop. Everything is neatly organized and catalogued. They have priced everything fairly and it's easy to get a semi-hard to find record there for much cheaper than some of the other record stores in the DFW metroplex. Tons of old records in the back to dig through and they picked out the cream of the crop and put them up front so you don't have to look hard to find something great. They had great prices and with every 10 dollars you spend you get a free 3 dollar record as well. When I was digging in the back the lady who works there kept checking in on me to see if I needed anything and even adjusted the A/C to be more comfortable for me to dig in. They have 3 larger rooms of neatly organized records broken into sub genre and then alphabetized. It was extremely easy to find what I was looking for and the staff were very helpful. This place is essentially a secret 3rd great record store in denton. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back as soon next weekend. read more

My feelings for this place are kind of polarized. I love their collection of stuff. They have lots of records and even though their organization isn't the best if you love records you need to come here. Some things I hope Books & More would take into consideration: - Better Organization: There is no Soul section which is where I usually hang out, all that gets lumped in with the rock section which is dumb because soul is not rock. I think the genres could be better defined and reorganized. I mean they have a friggin Frank Sinatra section but no soul wtf. They just had a 'grand reopening' but honestly the shop looks the exact same as it did before. - The pricing system: I frequent a lot of record shops and this one's pricing system annoys me to no end. Often more than one price is put on a record and they have a weird method of marking stuff down. I would suggest they go visit Mad World records on the square or go to Doc's in Ft Worth and see how they price records. Books and more kinda sucks when it comes to this. - Prices This place is dusty fingers' mecca if you live in Denton. There is so much to dig through and look at. You kind of get the feeling they have too many records because they are just everywhere. Up high, down low, some out of sight. You would think they would have the best prices in town because they're in a seedier part of town and have so much material. Not to mention records aren't exactly in high demand. If they priced their stuff more fairly I would buy soo so much more of it but a lot of their stuff is really, really stiffly priced. Most record shops have a 'dollar record' section and they don't even have that. The cheapest they'll sell you a record is $2 on clearance and it's probably a scratched as hell Herb Alpert record. And because of that I pass on a lot of stuff I would normally choose to pick up. I will compare prices on ebay on my phone while I'm shopping and the better deal is usually on ebay.. I mean come on. Maybe if they lowered their prices a bit they could move some supply and bring in more customers. Overall though I enjoy this place, even if I have to shop in the clearance section just to afford anything it's still a cool place to go and kill an hour or two. read more

This is romance book heaven. The sales lady is so nice and very knowledgable. They have lots and lots of books and many more in the back. I spent an hour in the store and that still wasn't enough time. I'll have to go back when I have a lot more time. read more
