The breakfast croissants are made daily and they do not disappoint. They're buttery, flaky and depending on which one you get, so cheesy! I'm also a sucker for the brownies and cookies because who wouldn't be?! The service is absolutely amazing and always so welcoming when I stop by. I can't say enough good things about The Avenue Cafe!

Jamaica Ave is known to locals of Jamaica Queens as "The Ave" so I thought that naming this place "The Avenue Cafe" was a really nice touch. The Avenue Cafe is definitely a hidden gem. I believe the small number of reviews is primarily due to its location. Tucked away in a food court which could only be accessed through an alley on Jamaica Ave or a side street (160th St), this cafe was not easy to find. Although the food court it is located in is no-frills, The Avenue Cafe actually put effort in establishing an inviting aesthetic that made me feel no different than if I were walking in my usual cafes in the city and I really liked that. The staff were courteous and they make your order quick! Best of all, they take card and Apple Pay (I didn't have cash on me that day and I was aware that just about every stall in that food court is Cash-Only). I only had their cold brew thus far but I'll absolutely be back to try the other items on the menu.

From Korean-style croffles and fusion kimbap to onigiri, acai bowls, smoothies, floats, soft serve, and frozen yogurt -- there's something for every craving. We sampled a bit of everything and were seriously impressed. The strawberry matcha croffle was a standout, perfectly crisp and indulgent. The onigiri was massive and full of flavor, and the yogurt? Super smooth, rich, and clearly top-tier quality. Shoutout to Jerry for making the experience even better -- incredibly friendly, patient, and happy to walk you through the menu. Service here is on point. The space itself is cozy, charming, and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out or grab a late-night sweet fix.

The matcha is on the lighter side, you can still taste it but, I like my matcha a bit stronger. 4/5 eel onigiri $6- really good, very well seasoned/saucy eel, just wish there was more eel in it. The extra teriyaki sauce is amazing, more citrusy than sweet. Loved it. 2/5 shrimp onigiri $5.50- shrimp itself is bland, wish it was seasoned. Shuda gotten the teriyaki sauce for this too, soy sauce is way too salty
