My first time at this establishment I always drive by in the mornings heading to work. Wide varieties of bagels the even have assorted mini bagels. First off, very good prices! Buy 6 bagels, get 1 free is a solid deal as it comes out to just under $10 for 7. I got there around 9:35 am and the line moved pretty quickly. Efficient, nice staff and smooth checkout process. Now onto the goods. While most places tend to serve medium (or small) sized bagels, Tulip comes through with the LARGE! These things are thiccc with 3 c's. They're a little inconsistent with freshness as a couple of older bagels got mixed with fresher ones in my order but you'll likely get more good than "bad" ones. How do they taste though? Awesome! Soft interior with a well defined crispy exterior. I warmed mine in the oven and I did find the crispy edges to be a bit tougher to bite through. Personal preference I know, but it was noticeable to me. The interior doesn't get soggy though and the bagel on a whole has a great chew to it. It doesn't get crumbly like lesser bagels do. If you know, you know. Overall, I'd give Tulip an 8.5/10 that can easily be a 9/10 on any given day. I knocked them down .5 because my free bagel was hard and looking real rough. One too many mistakes. Three strikes. I place an order on the phone and they get it wrong every time. I was a regular, but it's been going downhill and lately they've literally gotten my last three orders wrong, and I found out too late. With so many bagel stores out there, it's clear they don't need the business. They lost a regular customer. read more

We came here to grab bagels in the afternoon and it was such a nice and cozy neighborhood spot. The man behind the counter was super friendly and patient while we decided what to order... they were out of whole wheat everything bagels by this time so I decided on a regular whole wheat bagels with turkey, egg and cheese. The bagel tasted fresh and the entire sandwich was very filling in terms of portion size. I would say they had decent affordable prices too. Excellent local bagel joint with a great selection of bagel types, sandwiches, cream cheeses, and baked goods. Their bagels are large and delicious. This is a small bagel shop on the corner with plenty of parking available. There were three people ahead of me and a few trailed on afterwards. Came here for bagels and fresh Orange juice this morning. Although the place itself was busy, there was enough staff to keep the line moving at a decent pace. The food was decent and the portions were normal for a breakfast sandwich. The server I had wasn't necessarily the nicest and seemed disinterested. When she forgot to make my orange juice and I reminded her, she wasn't too thrilled. Other than that, it was a pretty average experience. They always advertise their French toast bagel too, but when ever I order it, I'm told it's never available :/ The place itself is small with two-three tables but I recommend taking everything to go since it can get crowded. read more

I used to drive two miles to My Three Sons for bagels. However, after trying Tulip Bagels, which recently took over a generic bagel shop, I can now save on gas. The first time I had Tulip Bagels, I ordered two bagels with cream cheese. They were average, probably because I had ordered them at 9:45 AM. However, I went on an early Sunday morning, and palate was pleasantly surprised. When you get these bagels fresh, they are squishy and spongy with a light crust on top. I loved it! The cream cheese is soft and cheesy fluffy. The juxtaposition of the crust, dough, and cream scream is Bagel Heaven. The guys at the counter really care about the success of this establishment. This has become my favorite bagel spot. The staff here are all really nice and I have no complaints about the bagels. I also recommend their iced coffee they have different flavors, the best part is you actually get coffee and not 65% ice in your cup. Nice fresh bagels every day, the bagels here are large and can be a bit pricier depending on where you buy your bagels usually. But I still come here often when I'm on the hungrier side and the bagels are always delicious. I've gotten to know the workers and they're lovely people. They move quickly and service flows fast for the amount of people who come in. The line moves quickly during rush hour. There are two tables if you want to sit and eat, most people do takeout but you'll see people sitting and eating sometimes. My family has done it during off peak hours. When: Sunday at 11am Came in and was greeted right away. No line. The guys behind the counter were very friendly and made sure to clarify the order rather than assuming (toasted? Salt pepper ketchup? Sugar and milk?). I'm a bagel snob but this is a pretty damn good bagel. Got the BEC toasted with an extra egg. They make the bagels fresh with that great first crunch, yet chewy inside. The bacon was also a healthy portion and thick slabs - not skimpy like most other delis. Messy, but expected. Also had some unique cream cheeses such as Oreo and vanilla/almond. Ordered a egg, sausage and onion on sesame bagel. The bagels are pleasantly chewy and have a good taste about them. The sausage wasn't very good quality BUT they are pretty cheap here, after taxes only $4.40 and you can't argue with that. I get a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel from here about once a week delivered through ubereats. Bagel is good and it's always prepared correctly with my "special instructions", as well as my Snapple and muffin. The main reason for 5 stars is that it literally gets delivered to me in Bellerose between 12-15 minutes after placing the order every single time. They are so fast in there and continue to stay consistent. The iced coffees are good too and the two times I've been in there the guy behind the counter has always been super nice.
