I took it to Key Star Auto LLC because I had used them before for small repairs and inspections. It was critical it would be done by a certain time for me to leave town, and they promised it would be. They finished early, did the repairs for what the estimate from the insurance company was with no out of pocket expense, and did exceptional work. My car was better after their repair work then it was before the collision. They even noticed my non-collided brake light was out and they replaced it for me at no additional cost. Honest, skilled, and honorable is VERY rare in NYC auto shops, so I strongly encourage you to use them.

Didn't overcharge me or try to get me for things I didn't need. Someone posted a review that they didn't like the owner's language. I can tell you that his speech is just like normal everyday people. And people sometimes curse. It's not like my old shop where they used to watch porn while fixing the cars. Anyway, neither I nor the other customers in the shop found anyone there crass or unprofessional. That reviewer, well, I hope they find what they're looking for. As for you, friend, feel free to ignore that review.

I call the day before for a quote and to check if I can bring in my vehicle the following day. I drop off my vehicle in the morning and wait for a call or text that my car is ready for pick-up. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP WITH YOUR VEHICLE…read more I am Chris, the owner of a white 2012 Nissan Rogue that was serviced here in 2022. I paid for a tune-up and specifically asked the staff to check all fluids and make sure everything was in good condition. I was assured that everything, including the transmission, had been checked and was fine. Less than a week later, my transmission began slipping and struggling to go into gear. I had an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle, and he discovered that the transmission fluid was extremely low or effectively empty. We attempted to refill it and see if the transmission could be saved, but the damage had already been done. I was ultimately facing a repair estimate of roughly $5,000 and ended up junking the vehicle and purchasing another car. To this day, I cannot understand how I was told the transmission was checked and in good condition when I experienced such a catastrophic failure immediately afterward. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue I experienced. On another visit, I was told my vehicle was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I was then asked to wait because the oil service had not actually been completed. I watched the technician finish adding oil after I had already arrived to collect what I had been told was a completed vehicle. I also had to return because a plastic component was left in my back seat after service and had not been reinstalled. One mistake can happen anywhere. Multiple incidents involving quality control, communication, and attention to detail are much harder to overlook. The financial impact of these experiences was significant, and I have never felt that anyone took responsibility or provided a satisfactory explanation. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this shop and would strongly encourage customers to seek a second opinion on any major service recommendations or inspections. This review reflects my honest experience as a paying customer. Junior, Ryan, and Shanice, I am deeply disappointed in all of you. The consequences of what happened cost me thousands of dollars and left me paying for a replacement vehicle. Whether you agree with me or not, I have had to live with the results of these experiences for years.

After 15 mins or so, one of the mechanics came and told me that I need to get my brakes repaired and it I didn't I wouldn't pass the inspection. I was told the cost would be around $350-$400 and after 2 hours, I saw that my bill would be $400 for the brakes. I didn't like that he told me a price range and at the end gave me the higher price for two brakes to be replaced and changed. I am no mechanic myself but I don't think he should've charged $400 without having a breakdown of the cost. My overall total did come out to $472 because of the inspection and of course, tax. But I do like that they displayed prices of things that they offered, that way you can see the prices for yourself. Not sure if my money was spent well here because of the lack of reviews, so fingers crossed.

They have a pretty sizeable lot and a small waiting area with coffee, a vending machine with drinks and a small tv. I asked how long it would take to do the install and I was quoted 3 hours. I should've listened. Appointments don't really mean anything. Lol. Anyways 3 hours later I had my tires on and I was out of there. If you're getting something done here definitely ask about timing and figure out something to do before picking up your car or leave it overnight if possible.
