We got several estimates, and his was the best price by far. He came to check the house and within 30 minutes gave us a clear quote. Very professional, honest, and trustworthy throughout the whole process. The work was done efficiently, and communication was great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price. read more

Horrible experience. Did a lousy job. So many corners and spaces that were incomplete. The guy also damaged my door in the process of his lazy job with installing flooring. I would not recommend this person at all. He continuously flakes and didn't finish the job I paid him for! read more

Do not ever hire him. Jovanny Martinez is owner. He scammed me. He has 12,000 of my money and he never completed one room in my remodel of my home. My mistake giving him too much money upfront. Legally it's supposed to be 1,000 for material upfront but he charged me 4,600. I hadn't known that. I paid him for the first phase of 7,500 even though he hadn't completed the work. I trusted him. He made promises. Stupid me. He does not do quality work. I've had to have licensed contractor and licensed trades come in and fix his mistakes. Not one room is completely finished. He has a horrible work ethic. He comes and goes. Sometimes only staying 2 hours. He leaves for 3 hours and comes back. He refused to return my money. I'm presently suing him. read more

Very nice guy but a bit flaky unfortunately. He was very communicative which I appreciated but there were times when he said he was on his way only to end up not coming that day. A 1-2 day job (replacing old sink with a farmhouse sink) took over a week. The quality of work is not the best either. He left scratches on the stainless steel sink and uneven/rough edges in the granite. Also left the garbage disposal loose so it was leaking until my 28 year old daughter fixed it herself. He said he would come back to fix everything but never did. It's too bad... I would've hired him for bigger jobs if not for the flakiness and work quality. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Jovanny, the owner, is extremely unprofessional. We hired him to improve major parts of our home, including bedrooms and a bathroom. After nearly a year, the project is still unfinished and much of the work that was completed was done very poorly. He would also disappear for weeks at a time without showing up, leaving his tools, construction materials and trash scattered throughout our living space and around our yard. He would use many reasons & excuses on why he would disappear in which we were very patient. He also damaged two of our TVs during the project and never reimbursed us for them. In addition, we gave him $350 to raise a shower head and $440 to replace a window. Neither job was ever completed despite repeatedly promising to reimburse us, he never did. Most of the time, he would send subcontractors instead of showing up himself. Several of them came to our home only to collect their tools because Jovanny owed them money. One subcontractor even arrived under the influence and asked if he could spend the night. Our final contract was for $10,250. We paid Jovanny $7,209, despite receiving those payments, he constantly pressured us for more money to "finish the job." In the end, only about 25% of the contracted work was actually completed and suddenly stopped showing up. Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and financial loss. I would not recommend hiring Jovanny. read more

Unfortunately very flaky and did not use him for a small job I needed at my home. No show no calls is not a good practice. Communication is everything in this business. read more

very unprofessional, lack of communication. after extending grace several times, he still continued to show lack of professionalism. would not show up and when he would it would be only for 20 minutes and leave and wouldn't show up for the next couple of days. the material he used for my home improvements was damaged. read more

The lies are ridiculous he had several "family emergencies" and no call no shows. I altered my schedule several times to get the job done and it's still not complete and I also have text messages to validate. 95% of a job is not what I was quoted. So If the customer wants that ok. read more

I used JM Imprivements to fix the crumbling stucco on my house Jovanny did an amazing job. He was very flexible with my timeliness for the job. Will definitely use this business in the future. read more

We all have issues that come up time to time and that I understand but as a customer, communication is key to having a successful business so with that in mind this company was not forthcoming in all the information and left me hanging on a Saturday morning when I had everything ready for the job to be completed. Many text messages several phone calls non-responsiveness is key to a business not succeeding I understand that there are many five-star ratings on this I think that they were just fortunate. My experience is not been a pleasant one using Yelp after many years has been helpful and I've been able to find many trades that I keep in contact with way after this initial contact but with this individual or company I cannot recommend there are many other companies are a more responsive again communication is key which this company lacks. read more

I met Jovanny for handyman work around my new home last year, and I'm so glad I did. He was professional, easy to work with, and explains to me what the problems/solutions were. What really stood out to me was his passion for what he does. You can tell he genuinely loves his work, and it shows in the care and attention he puts into his work. That passion for trade is rare these days. he has a background working with home builder companies, which explains his deep knowledge and confidence in tackling all kinds of jobs. It was reassuring to know that my home was in such experienced hands. Overall, I would recommend him to my friends. It isn't just a job to him - it's something he takes real pride in. read more

Jovanny is the best! From the moment I reached out to him, he was incredibly responsive and patient with all of my questions. When he arrived, he was very professional and friendly. I really appreciated that he offered to take off his shoes before coming inside--it was such a thoughtful gesture! Jovanny got to work immediately and patched up two small holes in my wall and painted it. What stood out the most was that he allowed me to watch his process and explained each step along the way so I could learn! I can't even tell where the holes are anymore. To top it all off, he left me the paint he had purchased so I could use it to do touch-ups myself in the future. I'm absolutely planning to use Jovanny for my future projects. If you're looking for a hard working, trustworthy, and detail oriented contractor, I recommend JM Improvements! read more

After a miscommunication issue with JM improvements, Jovanny went the extra mile to rectify the mistake and accommodated my needs. JM Improvements installed 7 interior doors. I received a quick response and Jovanny was able to come to the house to look at the job. I was quoted a good price. I used Yelp to find a "handy man" and Jovani from JM Improvment contacted me right away along with a few other companies. I sent them all picture of the work and everyone gave me a pretty similar quote. The reason why I choose JM Improvments because Jovani took the time to stay on top of communicating with me. Once we finalize the day they showed up walked me through the work step by step. Went above and beyond to help us stay in our budget. What I liked most was they showed and explained every step of the work. Unfortunately I didn't take the after picture. I was just happy and relieved it was all done! read more

Jovanny, Art and Andy are awesome. I asked for a quote and Jovanny got back to me stat. He quoted me pretty fair, if not, I would say probably the best pricing. They were super professional. Everyone had such great manners which, now-a-days, that's even rare. The work was done and it looks amazing. Andy was on point with the stucco put back on my electrical panel. I also had them fix two patches of drywall with knock down and it looks perfect. Highly recommend them and will for sure use them for future projects. Thank you guys! read more

Had all of the faucets in My Home replaced. While I did have to be flexible with the initial set dates and times due to some emergency matters JM improvements had to tend to, they arrived on time and worked efficiently during the rescheduled improvement times. It really is hard to find trustworthy handy people who will do quality work with the customer service to back it up. From start to finish Jovanny has been a pleasure to work with. I've been gathering up a list of handy people on my phone that I find on Instagram/TikTok who are LOCAL (yes, its an awesome place to find your next contractor - you can actually see their work and work ethic!) And you can already tell, I chose Jovanny because I liked what I saw. I needed someone to help repaint and refresh my guest bathroom with a new coat of paint. From first contact via a DM, he was quick to respond and give me a quote. We agreed on a start date and kept me in the loop of his arrive time on the day of work. Jovanny was quick to get to work after giving a rundown of what needed to be done and what he needed and kept me updated throughout the process. He went above and beyond in cleaning light fixtures and exhaust fans while they were disassembled prior to painting which I absolutely appreciated. He took his time in the paint preparation and application of multiple coats. Taking care of corners and around bath fixtures as well. He will do his best to treat your home like his own and make sure the finished product is the best as it can be with what tools he has. He kept the work area protected as much as he could and was ready to clean the area after work from all the old paint chips and dust. He left my bathroom cleaner than I had it. Thanks for the hard work Jovanny I appreciate it. Will reach out when ready for future projects...house trim..doors...tile work. Thanks again! read more

After reading all the glowing reviews below, I thought I would reach out to Jovanni for a few projects but I certainly didn't get very lucky with him. He was certainly courteous and eager when I first called but even before the first work day there were bad signs. * When asked to come to my place to take a look he missed appointments at least 3 times. * When starting there are items that I mentioned we need yet he repeatedly had to make "Home Depot" runs throughout the few days he was here. * Asked him to replace my bathroom vanity and he ruined the cabinet back when connecting to the faucet valves. See pictures. * On the last day he was in a hurry and many things were done sloppily (gaps between baseboards, gap between toilet hose and drywall) If you hire him, hire him for small jobs. Anything that lasts for days you're rolling the dice. My 2 cents. And now I have to cross my fingers that his work will hold up. A good thing is his price is fairly reasonable, but you will get taxed by the headaches you get from trying to work with him and having to fix his carelessness. I know handymen juggle multiple projects but if you're going to half ass some of them things will inevitably go south. read more
