Where do I start. I came across Anita a little over a month ago. Wanted my lashes done for my birthday. I have been looking for someone more local -Rockville area. By the grace of god, I found her. You are always nervous going to someone new for any service; will they understand what I want, be nice, most importantly be clean. She was all and more. Even with me saying I wanted the flirty lashes, before I arrived she texted me asking what I was looking for exactly. We discussed it, I gave her fair warning I have some of the most complicated lashes. They are EXTREMELY curly, to the point most come back to my lids. She knocked them out the park. I was in love and I made sure to show them off. They were perfect, natural with a little pop. Her talent is beyond lashes, she makes you at ease during your time. She is so easy to speak to. The room is clam and cozy, you cannot help but fall asleep. You do not even feel her. She did such a good job I already went for my second apt. When I say, I booked my 3-week fill-in, I had damn near all my lashes still. We both laughed asking why am I here. This was not my first time getting my lashes I have had some very bad experiences. However, I put my complete and utter trust in Anita. She truly cares for what she is doing. Before anything she protects your lashes. We as customers sometimes push our body's limits. I normally don't write reviews, but Anita is definitely worth the time! She deserves 5 stars and more for the excellent experience and service she provides to her clients. I stumbled across her Yelp page after feeling unsatisfied with my first lash experience from another tech and I could not be happier about how everything went during my visit with Anita. I felt very welcomed the moment I saw her and she made sure to explain the entire process and the types of lashes that were provided, very thoroughly. Now, this is so different from the previous tech because I didn't receive much information even when I made it clear it was my first time. I am SO grateful that Anita made sure I didn't have any questions before we started and she even took the time to show me different types of lashes that I could choose from. I decided to go with the light volume set and just trusted Anita to work her magic for the next 2 hours. She did not disappoint! I barely felt anything on my eyes, which made me so comfortable that I fell asleep after having such a nice conversation with her. I woke up with such gorgeous lashes and to top it all off, Anita gave me a couple of lash brushes to maintain them. She even explained to me about her 3 day policy where we can come back to her within 3 days if there's any premature fall outs, which is so generous of her! I've had eyelash extensions for about 3 years now and have been to my share of lash artists, and Anita is by far the best I've been too. Not only is she super nice and so much fun to talk to, she is extremely passionate about what she does. What I love about her most is that she really takes her time to get to know you as a client and what you would feel most beautiful in. Other lash artists I have been to normally have done what they think they will look best on you. Anita is super flexible if I come for an appointment wanting something new or different. She also will make sure your lashes are PERFECT before you leave. She will not settle for anything less. She also has an amazing, clean, and cute lash space! I've been coming to Joi for two years and would never go anywhere else! Her studio is always clean, she's very accommodating, her business is professional and the customer service is consistently good. Beyond that she's the lash queen she can do it all, any style, any look and she will make sure you are happy before you leave! She's done classic sets on me, hybrid, volume, strip lash look, and mega volume depending on what's going on in my life or what look I'm feeling, so it's nice that we can switch it up and the results are consistently amazing. Also after wearing her lashes for a full year, I stopped for a couple of months during quarantine and I had NO damage to my actual lashes which stood out to me because that was not my experience with previous lash techs. She educates you on how to care for them properly so they remain clean, healthy and retain as well as possible. 10/10 would recommend!! read more

This review is overdue but over the holidays I reached out to Anita for an appointment for eyelash extensions. I had only gotten them done once before that so had no idea what I wanted. She was so quick to respond and consultative about what type of lashes I should get. She asked for pictures of my current lashes, asked about my preferences/likes, and even made suggestions based on her expertise. During the appointment, she makes you feel so comfortable (friendly, conversational, professional but so much fun), and if you just want to sleep she has no problem with that either! She did an amazing job, and even went through tips on how to care for them afterwards. Sent me home with some eyelash shampoo and brushes! (Bonus!) Anita is absolutely amazing!!!! The room where the lash appointment occurs has the most plush comfortable chair and I believe I fell asleep for a while too. Her music taste is great as well which is a plus and contrary to most artists who try to rush you, she takes her time and carefully and perfectly attaches the lashes to create a flawless look. I had some trouble due to having sensitive eyes hence tearing up but even with this, Anita did not rush me and even went back to fill in spaces that she felt needed more lashes. If you are looking to book with anyone, just stop now and book with her because you will not be disappointed. She is also extremely sterile and makes sure that you are happy with how one eye looks before starting the other. This was my first time getting my eyelashes done and let me just say it was the best experience. Anita was very thorough and friendly. She did an amazing job and I was complemented throughout the week about how good they were. I even had other people who get lashes regularly say that it's the best eyelash job they've ever seen. If you're looking for eyelash extensions, this is definitely the place to go. Bonus: the seat she has you sit in the the softer and comfiest chair you'll ever sit in! Oh, she also has a grace period of 3 days. This being my first time getting my eyelashes done, we weren't sure how well they would hold. I love my lashes! If you are looking for quality lashes by a professional-- Anita's the lash expert you've been looking for! I've never had lashes before (always used the strips) and this was a great first experience. She was informative- educating me on length,curl pattern, and care. I've had my lashes done by Joi several times and was very pleased each time. I was even more pleased when she traveled down here to NC to do my lashes. If she is unable to travel to me I will go up to Maryland and have them done this should tell you how much I love her work. Joi truly care about her clients, she goes above and beyond to ensure that I am comfortable always playing some nice easy music. Even after she is completed with my lashes she will give me a call just to see how they are holding up and to ensure I am properly taking care of them which is very rare after you have already paid for a service. When I first walked into her studio, I was taken aback by how CLEAN and GORGEOUS the space was! So many amenities to make sure that I was comfortable and cozy. While she did my lashes. I'm so sensitive, she took her time and removed an old set and gave me these beautiful feathery lashes. They look so natural and feel amazing. She talked me through the process and did not rush, I dozed off a few times because I was so comfortable I am so so so happy to have found her! I will be going to Anita for the 3rd time. When I tell you this lady is so professional. I was nervous the very first time not knowing what to expect she explained the whole process to me. The best customer service you'll ever have. I've had my lashes done by Anita several months ago (so sorry for the late review ) The place is clean and very relaxing. She listens to your concerns and other stuff (lol. She was like a therapist for me). The lashes lasted a month. It was soft and very light. It didn't feel like I had eyelash extensions. I've been here 3xs so far. Ms. Joi gave me my first full set a few months ago and I was amazed! She was able to give me the full volume, glamour set I was looking for. Her retention was unbelievable.
