Her packages, her story, and her instagram photos gave me all the feels and I knew she was it. The trial: I never had my makeup done professionally before so I didn't know what to expect. I showed up at her studio and was greeted with a big hug and so much excitement. She had me sit down on her chair and explained the whole routine. I showed her some inspiration and she just nailed it. I expected to be there for only a couple hours but it ended up being close to 4 hours. Let me tell you, she is meticulous. I felt like a dang Queen the entire time I was there! Needless to say, I felt GORGEOUS and made my man take me out to dinner that night. Pre-wedding: Due to covid my husband and I ended up changing the date. I purposely chose the new date around Autumn's availability. I will continue to say this in my review, but she is incredibly talented and will be my MUA person forever and the person I recommend to everyone. The package I chose for myself included lash extensions, so a couple days before the ceremony, I went to her studio and had them done. They turned out amazing. If you've never had them done before, I highly recommend. You wake up feeling pretty and your photos are all the more amazing. Wedding day: She and her assistant showed up on time and with such enthusiasm. I initially asked her to do my hair and makeup, my mom's hair and make up and my step daughter's hair. Last minute, we asked her to do my sister's hair and makeup and she made it work! Super accommodating. I also want to note that I requested that she use a particular setting powder I own because I know it works for my skin type and it is something that is reliable. She didn't even question or try to push her make up on me - she was more than happy to use it and loved the way it looked. This woman does not stop. I swear she was doing hair and makeup from 10am - 4pm without stopping. I think at one point, I made her take a quick break! Again, she not only make me feel like a queen, but I felt like I was hanging out with a girlfriend I had known for years. Pricing: Affordable and no hidden costs. Worth. Every. Penny. Autumn is incredibly talented and dedicated to her craft. If you get the chance to book her, do it!

It was great to meet my hair and makeup artists during my trial and work with them to talk through what I envisioned. My hair is fine so my hairstyle didn't exactly match the photo inspirations, but my artist did a style that was in the same realm. For my makeup, I said I wanted to look like myself but elevated, and she hit the nail on the head. On wedding day, they delivered. They worked with our tight and early timeline with a lot of women (10 total) having their hair and makeup done, and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. My only small bit of disappointment was that my hair started to fall by cocktail hour, so my bridesmaids had to spend a little bit of time re-pinning and hairspraying to get it back in place, which took a little bit of time away from enjoying the reception. But overall, I definitely recommend Updos for I Dos for your special events.

I ended up finding Bernadette, an independent nail tech who works there--and she's been an absolute gem. While she does use a drill (contrary to what I originally searched for), she's incredibly skilled, gentle, and precise--so much so that it never damages my nails. Her technique is both efficient and mindful, striking the perfect balance between machine and hand filing. Initially, I was getting regular gel manicures, but Bernadette truly cares about nail health, and she suggested switching to builder gel (BIAB). It was a game-changer. Builder gel doesn't require soaking off and allows for continuous fills--meaning you can build on top of your last set without compromising nail integrity. Since switching, my nails have grown so long, strong, and healthy, and a single BIAB manicure can last me up to 6 weeks! Beyond nails, Bernadette is a wonderful person--easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and deeply caring. She also specializes in pedicures for clients with diabetes or other health conditions, which speaks volumes about her expertise and sensitivity to clients' unique needs. If you're looking for a thoughtful, health-conscious nail experience, I highly recommend Refresh Nail Spa and Bernadette in particular. After reviewing their work on Instagram, we decided to make an appointment here. Originally, my daughter wanted to stick with dip to maintain her natural nail length, but the nail tech explained that the specific design she requested could not be achieved with dip powder. She transitioned to Aprés Gel-X instead, and still made changes from the original inspiration photo to simplify needs and costs after consulting with the nail tech. The final result was absolutely gorgeous and prom-ready! The only surprise was the number of additional fees added throughout the appointment, so she called me a few times to confirm costs before proceeding. I was happy to cover it for such a memorable milestone event. In the end she got one nail with light blue french tip, two nails painted blue and two nails with painted butterfly or flower design on each hand where in her original design it was a different design on each nail. While we will likely continue using our regular salon for routine nails due to the pricing structure here, I would recommend Nail Haven for weddings, prom, and other special occasions depending on your design aspirations.

Nicole is absolutely amazing at what she does. I came in for the semi permanent ombré brows which is a similar technique to microblading but gives you that shaded in makeup look that lasts longer (1-2 years ). She really perfected my brows and made me feel extremely comfortable. I'm so glad she came to the dmv area from Texas and hopefully she is here to stay because I refuse to go to anyone else for my brows now. Thanks Nicole ! read more

She not only does a great job with your brows, she takes the time to teach you how to maintain them and also define them with a little bit of makeup/pencil. The treatment was supposed to include two sessions: the initial procedure and a follow-up touch-up after six months. Unfortunately, I never received the follow-up appointment. I reached out to Kechia, and she assured me she would coordinate with my technician to complete the process. However, that was nearly a year ago, and I have not heard back from her since. I'm very disappointed with how things ended--despite the promising start, the lack of follow-through and communication has been frustrating.

Kechia did my nanobladed brows this spring. I had some old cosmetic tattoo work done to my brows…read morethat was fading after a few years, and the pigment was starting to turn a red color that was distinguishable underneath my brown eyebrow hairs. Kechia recommended nanoblading to cover this previous work and I was happy to take her recommendation. Everyone always wants to know about the pain level. I have a number of regular body art tattoos and I do not think that cosmetic tattooing feels the same. The needle feels thinner and scratchier, almost like a cat is bored and lackadaisically scratching at your eyebrows. Luckily the numbing agent they use after the first pass made it so I didn't feel a thing. Overall, I think it's very tolerable, and the results are worth it. During my touch up appointment we ended up having to go a bit darker in terms of color because the pesky red from my old cosmetic tattoos was fighting to show through. Luckily the touch up did the trick and those suckers are finally covered! Hooray! I had several friends and coworkers who noticed something was different right away and asked what kind of makeup I was using to get my brows so perfect. ;) My new brows were worth every penny. I can't recommend Kechia and Brows & Co enough!
