We have used JLT kitchen refurbishing in the past for our kitchen cabinets. Jerry and his crew did a great job. We decided to have him redo our 12' oak bar in the family room. The golden oak really dated the bar. Jose and Augustine did a great job. Augustine was working here most of the time. He was very attentive to our needs and always did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the day. read more

Just consulted with Jerry on another project in New Port beach. I was amazed with his expertise and knowledge on building and design on custom cabinets. JLT - Jerry did an amazing job on my kitchen. We had old and tired cabinets (maple) that frankly looked dated. I didn't want to spend the money on a whole new kitchen so I contacted three cabinet refinishing companies. Jerry's quote was the most cost effective and his guys are professional. Everything was left clean and pristine. On an unrelated note, while visiting my house to quote the work, Jerry suggested that I double up the sub tops under my countertops to create a thickened edge. I had not thought of doing that and it made a huge difference to the look of the kitchen. I recommend JLT refinishing Matt read more

We needed to update our oak kitchen cabinets from the 20-year old golden finish. Jerry and his crew were able to strip, sand and refinish the doors, drawer fronts and frames to a clean and modern finish. The guys were diligent in protecting our appliances and flooring. We felt the price was reasonable for the work provided over the 2-week process, with half of that work performed at our home. Jerry, thanks for everything. read more

We researched for 3 months to find a contractor to upgrade our 25 yo maple cabinets initially with the thought of just refinishing the cabinet fronts, doors and drawers. After speaking to several companies we realized replacing the old maple doors and drawers, along with new soft close fixtures was the way to go. I spoke and had bids from 3 companies but wasn't comfortable with their solutions. Then I read many reviews about jlt Kitchen Cabinets and had its owner, Jerry come over and discuss what could be done. I was very impressed with his ideas and had a strong feeling that i was dealing with a honest, reputable man. His quotes surprisingly lower than the competition and the entire remodel, doors and drawers were all custom made. Jose, Javier and the other employees/contractors were top notch, and have always been available for any issues that had arisen. I highly recommend Jerry (jlt kitchen refinishing) . A++ read more

Jerry and his crew promised and delivered a quality refinishing of our existing maple kitchen cabinets. They consistently accommodated our requests as the job progressed and the finish is far superior to the original. JLT kitchens, refinished my kitchen cabinets. The owner Jerry responded very fast and work started immediately. There was no contract, only verbal agreements and I did not feel 100 percent comfortable with that. Price discussed was reasonable, compared to other quotes I received. Work was done as promised and workers showed up on time. All the workers, cabinet man, plumbers and electricians, were courteous and friendly, cleaned up area well. Jerry was only a phone call away any time there was a question. He responded right away every time. I would suggest a written contract so everyone knows what to expect. My kitchen turned out very nice, I am pleased with the results. read more

Look no further, Jerry, Jose, and JLT are the best! We hired Jerry and his team to refinish our kitchen cabinets and couldn't be happier with the results. Jose is an excellent craftsman, who can accomplish pretty much anything. He is a pleasure to work with, and has a strong desire to do the job right, no matter what it takes. Jerry, Jose, Hilario, and the rest of the crew did a great job. We have no complaints at all. Every little thing/concern we had was addressed by the crew. These guys are not happy, unless the customer is. We were a wee bit picky over a couple areas, but they happily catered to our requests. (Caused the project to go longer, as one of the changes was to have a couple cabinet doors changed). JLT is a fabricator, so everything is custom, unlike something you'd get from Home Depot. Ohhh..we even picked out our own Quartz slab from Marble Express. (Instead of just looking at samples) - I highly recommend doing this, although it's a bit overwhelming trying to decide. With any project, it is extremely important for the homeowner to stay involved with a remodel, as you will notice little details that the remodel guys may miss. Always good to have a second set of eyes! As such, we have no complaints at all. BTW- Our cabinets were a total pain in the ass, as the varnish on them was reacting with the paint. Martin fought through the debacle, overcoming the damn problem. Project Scope: New custom cabinet doors. (Easy Close) Refinished cabinets. New slide out drawers. (easy close). Farm house sink. (They had to basically fabricate/modify that whole cabinet). New backsplash. We're just waiting on a new cooktop and vent hood, both in Black Stainless, which is backordered. Jose did a great job with our kitchen cabinets. Was professional and courteous. Good value work. Would recommend for cabinet refinishing.

Love the work Jerry and his team provided. I had custom, furniture-grade cabinets installed four years ago but picked too red of a stain. I decided it wanted to paint them white and contractors wouldn't touch the job. I wanted them done right and knew it would cost but didn't want a cheap paint job (I'm a great painter and have OCD so knew my limitations but also expectations). Doors were removed and taken away (this is the right way to do it), everything was taped off and sprayed with so many layers. I did have an issue with one area bleeding through (I called it "pink" as the red from the stain came through the paint) but this happened within a month and they came right back, reprinted & painted and it hasn't recurred. They also repainted my entertainment center/mantle as the carpenter I used painted with two different paints so the doors didn't match the background (told you I'm obsessive about details). It's perfect now! I absolutely recommend them. You can get a cheap job and get what you pay for but I don't plan to move and want the job done right. I would absolutely use them again! read more

We just bought a home in Long Beach and while the kitchen was in good shape it just wasn't our style and felt very dated. Jerry came in and gave us a great quote to paint them white. He had some samples to show us and his pricing was very competitive. We were a little nervous that nothing was in writing but we had nothing to be concerned about, everything was incredibly well done and professional. They worked around our schedule and did a fantastic job covering surfaces and making sure our house was clean. Martine and his crew were courteous and efficient, they even were nice enough to work a little late to add new hardware on to the cabinet doors. At the end of it all we are extremely pleased at how it came out. The kitchen feels brand new and so much lighter and bigger. I can not recommend Jerry enough. read more

Quality cabinet refacing! I was looking for a quality refacing job in my tired kitchen cabinets. I did interview 3 possible vendors and decided on Jerry with JLT Restoration. It wasn't the price as much as I had the confidence in his ability and I felt assured his company would pay attention to detail and use quality products. Everything I was hoping for got accomplished. It's an extremely busy time but even so, everything got completely finished to my satisfaction. Jose was amazing in all the woodwork execution, Freddy was a great painter and all the team are hard workers and good at their skill. This team has been together awhile and they work great together. If things take a little longer than expected, be patient, it's worth the wait! I'm very happy and my kitchen is so nice to be updated with new soft closing new drawers and doors! The finishing wood panels on the cabinets are a very nice custom touch!! Deborah W., Laguna Niguel read more

Workmanship was INCREDIBLE. I had no idea what color I should refinish my cabinets to . Jerry came in and suggested he take a piece of my wood plank tile and come up with 3 sample colors. It was so hard to decide which one to pick as they were all exquisite. We did decide and they look Amazing. I like the cabinets more now than when I first had them built. Jose, the superintendent of our job was so great. He went and beyond for us with all the little finishing touches that come with a kitchen change. He even suggested a different crown molding and installed them which was not a part of the job. The whole crew was wonderful and really took their time to create, not, refinished cabinets but Art. read more

We hired JLT Kitchen Refinishing to refinish our kitchen and dining room. They did a great job and we are very happy with the results. The kitchen cabinets were all original from 1968 with several coats of paint and a lot of wear and tear. Jerry's team repaired, refinished, and repainted all of the cabinets to look better than new. They removed all of the old cabinet doors and drawers, then they sanded and refinished all of the boxes and painted them inside and out with multiple coats of paint. Jose built and installed all new custom doors and drawers with new hardware. Javier and his team designed and installed our new quartz countertops and also installed all of our new appliances and plumbing. After all that, Jerry's paint crew came in to replace baseboards and paint the entire kitchen and dining room (walls and ceilings). Jerry, Jose, Javier and the entire crew were very professional and easy to work with. They answered all of our questions and made excellent recommendations. They were all very careful about cleaning up every day. It all looks great and works great now. I would recommend them to anyone looking to update or refinish their kitchen read more

After 15 years, our specially designed kitchen cabinets still had great structure but many of the door surfaces showed wear and needed refinishing. We tried several times to get the original cabinet maker to come out and estimate the cost to refinish the cabinets. They never followed up after several weeks of trying. We then went to several home care web sites to find vendors who refinished cabinets. After selecting 5 of the highly rated vendors, we contacted them to get quotes. Jerry at JLT Kitchen Refinishing was the first to call on the next day. He came to our house the next morning to evaluate our need. Quickly, we saw Jerry is a knowledgeable and experienced cabinet refinisher. He is straight forward and recommended multiple approaches. We told him we were not sure which approach was right for us. He said he would prepare 3 options on separate doors for us to see which we preferred. Two days after Jerry's visit, he provided 3 samples with different levels for us to make our decision. Also, we said if possible we would like the job done in 10 days the day before Thanksgiving. Jerry committed to 10 days. A second vendor returned our call 5 days later and the other 3 never responded. Jerry's staff was at our house the next morning to remove all the doors. The following day another staff member was at our house for the next 7 days to prepare the remaining cabinet structure for refinishing. He was done refinishing the cabinet structure on day 9. On day 10, the staff returned with all 38 doors and reinstalled all by the end of the day. Thanksgiving was great and the refinished cabinets were the talk of the day. Thank you JLT Kitchen Refinishing. read more

It was a real pleasure working with Jerry and his team. I appreciated the fact that they showed up when they promised and kept the commitment for completion that we had discussed. The men that worked on our quartz countertops did a beautiful job and went over and above after hours to pick up things from Home Depot that I probably should have shopped for. They texted me to make sure I was happy with the results. The cabinet team were also great. They were super professional and very pleasant plus cleaned up so well after they left each day. The electrician came out in record time and completed the last thing we needed. Just an overall great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to make upgrades to their kitchen. read more

After interviewing a number of kitchen cabinet refinishing organizations, my wife and I were most impressed with the JLT Kitchen Refinishing presentation and especially their monetary bid to do the job. What is more, the crew was especially concerned to advise us regarding their work schedule so as to avoid any conflict of issues. We had JLT paint our kitchen cabinets, and they did a great job. Lupe repaired a section of our cabinet that has damaged by the previous backsplash, and it looked like new. The finish product was very good. We found a couple of areas that needed to be fixed and/or touched up, and Lupe took care of it a couple of days later. They were on time and worked all day for 3 days. The mess was pretty minimal. I would use them again. Thanks, Matt M. read more

I hired JLT Kitchen Refinishing to reface my kitchen and bathroom cabinets after receiving estimates from Reborn Cabinets, Home Depot, and Jerry of JLT. Jerry came out promtly and was very knowledgeable and friendly offering usefu suggestions. Not only was his bid lower than the other two, he used solid wood for the doors and drawer fronts as opposed to thermofoil. Also Home Depot stated they could not start the job for at least another 3 months. JLT completed my whole job in under 6 weeks. His crew was polite and punctual. The cabinets received multilayers of paint that gave them a beautiful smooth finish. He also arranged to have my quartz countertop installed and tiled my back splash. My kitchen turned out better than I expected. I highly recommend JLT for the superb work they did. read more

Jerry was highly recommended on our local Facebook group. Our kitchen cabinets needed a tune up after 25+ years. Jerry listened to what I wanted and made recommendations (such as moving hinges to the inside on a set of overhead cabinets to update the look). Instead of just adding molding to cover the damage they were able to repair the areas and they look great! We renovated and refinished my old kitchen with this company and they were amazing. The whole team was very professional, with a helpful mentality to solve any problems as all projects always have surprises.. They didn't leave the job until everything was perfect. Finishing and updating moldings, hardware and hinges of the kitchen were performed in an outstanding fashion. Skills, precision, and cleanliness of the workers were remarkable. Workers were polite and responsible, and they even used their own microwave. Great products and customer service. They used waterproof sealers/non yellowing hand rubbed look finish with industrial quality lacquer finish. I am so glad that I chose to work with Jerry on our kitchen refacing project. Jerry, Jose and his wife were absolutely fabulous. The project started on time and finished on time. The detail work and craftsmanship are top shelf. Our refacing job was not an easy one as we had to remove a lot of decorative trims, moldings and replace them with shaker style trims. Many of the replacement parts had to be done onsite and figured out during the process. Jose and his wife are experts at creating beautiful cabinets. Their attention to detail and quality is wonderful. I will say, that I was a bit hesitant to hire Jerry's company as he does not give you a written contract. The entire project was started with a handshake and a verbal quote. Jerry didn't even ask for any money down to begin. He kept his word and has been communicative during the whole process. I would absolutely hire Jerry and his team again. read more

Do not hire this man to handle anything you care about. He is long on promise and short on delivery. He is nothing but a middle-man and adds no value. In our case, his inaction and carelessness have caused us great delay, anxiety, and expense. Don't be led on by this man. He advertises heavily on the web using multiple websites to promote his solo business, claiming to handle everything from home design and remodeling to bathrooms and countertops to cabinet refinishing, We hired him to refinish our kitchen cabinets. When he arrived to provide an estimate, he seemed very knowledgeable and told us he would provide all the work we needed, including repainting of all our cabinets and replacement of some damaged drawer bottoms and drawer boxes. We agreed to what we now realize was a premium price for the work, but we were so impressed with his promises, we believed we were in competent hands. We were surprised when his crew arrived early one morning a few days later, without notice, to begin work dismantling and removing the cabinets for repair and repainting at their shop. We were not informed that they would be arriving, and Jerry was not with them. The workers said they had been instructed by Jerry to come to begin the work, but he had not informed us of this either by phone or text message. When I called his cell phone to find out why we had not been informed, there was no answer, and his voicemail box was full so I couldn't leave a message. I sent a text, but there was no immediate response. This should have been our first warning sign, but we accepted it as a minor communication error and looked forward to the excellent outcome we had been promised. The crew (of 2) that painted the cabinet frames in place in our kitchen were careful to cover our floors and appliances and seemed to do a good job, but the result was not the smooth lacquer surface we were promised, and we had to demand that they sand and finish the surfaces. Again, Jerry was nowhere to be found and never returned to the job site to supervise or consult with us on the delivered work. The process took much longer than we anticipated, mostly due to miscommunication between Jerry and his workers, We would tell Jerry something that the workers claim they were never told, or Jerry would give conflicting instructions to his crew without telling us. Throughout the process, we had agreed with Jerry that all work on the drawers and cabinet doors would be completed at their shop, and the only work on premises would be the installation of the completed refinished pieces. His workers returned on at least 2 separate occasions with materials that were not completed and had to be returned to the shop for corrections. Again, we never saw Jerry again after he sold us on the job, and his supervision of the work was effectively nil. Worse yet, when we could get him to answer his phone or respond to text messages, he would blame his workers rather than take responsibility for the problems. The final straw came when, after nearly 3 weeks of no follow-up about our installation, we demanded that Jerry get the cabinets installed. A new worker arrived the following day with the doors and drawers, but no repairs had been done. We called Jerry and demanded he come to the house to see the problem for himself. When he finally arrived, he said that the repairs would be done in-place, and not at the shop as we had agreed. Throughout the ordeal, Jerry had provided no supervision of the job, no consistent communication with us or his work crew, and nothing but empty promises. We fired Jerry and sacrificed our deposit rather than continuing with him, and had to arrange for a different company to do the work he could not complete. It was only after letting Jerry go that we discovered we were missing two cabinets that we had given to his crew for refinishing. These were two cabinets we had on the wall above our laundry that we had removed intact. When we reached out to him to have those cabinets returned, he informed us that his worker had disposed of them and that we had instructed him to do so! This is a blatant lie. Why would we give our cabinets to a refinishing professional with instructions to dispose of them? We can throw stuff away without professional assistance. Either Jerry is lying about the cabinets being trashed, or his mismanagement is even more unforgivable. So now we are missing two custom cabinets (I guess we can file a police report for theft?), we still have to pay someone else to refinish our cabinets (those that were returned), and Thanksgiving is passed and Christmas is coming, Thanks, Jerry! read more
