I love the peaceful environment and soft lighting. The new manicure chairs and table are great, and the pedi massage chairs are super. But the most important part is the nail service. This is a small, family-run salon. John, his wife Chao, their son, and Maria are all very skilled and kind. I've loved every pedi and mani I've gotten from here. I usually have Chao do my dip manicures and Maria do my pedicures. They get to know their clients here, and Chao will have have a beautiful polish picked out for me because she knows exactly what I like! This isn't a bright lights, glitzy salon with menus and wine. I've had my fair share of pedicures that I should have demanded my money back for. This was one of them. I came to New Fancy based on reviews. I had to be in the area at 5pm for another appointment and figured I would kill two birds with one stone. Mistake. Not killing two birds...but doing it with one stone. I opted for the $37, highest priced pedicure. That usually involves the best treatment in the house. Granted, New Fancy prices are much less than other salons but then again, it's in Powell. But that shouldn't mean that treatment is any less. I was wrong. My $37 pedi was SHORTER than the $22 option. I know. The gal next to me had the $22 pedi. Sure he performed all the elements but did so in an abbreviated fashion. I get pedicures once a month because of a big toe with nail fungus that isn't curable unless I get the nail removed and then there isn't even a guarantee. So, every time, since 2012, I ask the tech to clean out the nail and cut it back. Every. Single. Time. I asked his guy twice. My request went ignored both times. He was clearly rushed and not interested in customer service. If the place was slammed, okay, I kind of get it but it's Friday. There were three pedis seated and one mani. To add insult to injury, the massage chair I was in had a broken side table so I held my belongings. The pedi bowls did NOT have bags in them like everyone else is doing now. The massage chair controls are done by the tech. I didn't have access to it. AND the tech never bothered to clean up his work after painting my toes. (See pics) So ladies...go to MODA in Turkey Creek. Get treated like a paying customer. And get what you pay for.

I loved it so much that I got my aunt, grandma, and mom A gift certificate to get their nails and feet done for Mother's Day. My mom went and everything was OK she said but when my aunt and grandmother went I was with them and the ladies were really rude they were grabbing my grandma's hands and pulling her towards them very aggressively and continually rolled the eyes at everything that my aunt or grandma had to say. It was almost like it was a completely different place. After that I could never go back you don't get to treat my family like that with me there and expect to continue getting business from us.

I rarely can enjoy a pedicure because of tickles and leave more tense than it started. What a refreshing experience! I got a basic manicure and pedicure. As I was getting the manicure, it seemed the coats were a bit thick and rushed between layers. I didn't say anything, but I'm certain they were not dry between coats. Otherwise everything looked great by time I left. It was the next day my review began the downturn. All 10 of my fingernails had spiderweb cracks over the entire nail, after only 12 hours. I also noticed my toenails were different lengths. One foot with noticeably longer nails than the other. I'm going to need to cut them myself way before I was due for another pedi and that will, of course, destroy the end polish. I won't have time to go back for them to fix either within a reasonable amount of time to complain. I might return to give it another chance simply because the people were so awesome. **ONE MONTH LATER** I've always had natural nails. I've never had issues with peeling and my nails are usually strong enough that I've used them as screw drivers. After my manicure here, I noticed deep grooves across the nail and I can't get them to stop peeling or breaking. Long term this turned into the worst manicure I've ever had. I will not be returning. This is not how you treat natural nails.

One of the owners sent me down and immediately began to add tips because he said my nails were too short for an acrylic dip. I decided on an oval shape for the tips. When that part was done, he told me he had customers waiting and passed me onto his wife to complete the polish. I chose a neutral cat eye. I noticed she wasn't applying the polish all the way down to my cuticle. I looked to my right and saw another customer with her fingers in a bowl of cuticle softener. Then I realized they hadn't touched my cuticles prior to these steps. No softening, no trimming, no pushing back. Just simply applying tips and polish. We were beyond that point, so I didn't say anything , and I had just hoped my nails would look pretty. I could tell when she started working in the magnet over the Kat eye that it wasn't what I had had before, but I'm not the expert, so I just watched. Their English wasn't good, so having a conversation wasn't really an option. The charge for what I had done was $70. I hadn't had a manicure in years, so I figured that was the going rate. I was wrong! I left and went home. I wasn't happy with my new nails at all. Husband and friends told me I should go back and have them at least take the polish off and redo it since there was such a gap between it and my cuticles. Looked like I had a week old manicure already. I was very specific when I said I needed the manicure to last 2 to 3 weeks. I called the next morning and told them I wasn't happy and asked if I could come back in, and I was happy they could see me at 12:30 that day. I chose a red polish this time since the cat eye was off. Patrons should know that getting your nails done at this salon doesn't mean they will soak your cuticles, trim them, push them back, and then prepare the nails for whatever you specify. All that is an extra cost, and you have to ask for it. I've never had a manicure where that wasn't part of the process. Patrons should also know that if you want a shape other than how the tips come, that is also an extra cost. What other salons give you for a nice manicure, including all the previous things, for a reasonable set price, you will pay extra at Nail Pro. The owners are nice, though, and they did let me come back for another polish, so I gave them two stars.

I asked for a pink to white ombré and told me I'd have to make an appt with Krystal to do something like that. When i told him i did make an appointment, he immediately started speaking to another woman (Lynn, i believe) who insisted that i didn't ask for Krystal to do my nails in the first place. Which is completely wrong because she is the ONLY person I like to do my nails. I've been seeing her for the past year, and when i called the first thing out of my mouth was, "I'd like to make an appointment with Krystal for a fill-in". The man doing my nails says, since you didn't ask for Krystal, I'll just do your nails and then she can do them next time, K?? So... I'm like okay... since he's saying she's too busy to get to me. Not even 5 minutes into my fill in, here comes in another woman who is immediately sat with Krystal saying she had an appointment with her. Terrible all the way around. My nails also look terrible.
