I live in the area and had been seeing the lawn signs for Jiya Eyebrow Threading for months, never having the nerve to give the place a try. I was happy with the woman who previously did my eyebrows, but her shop was far from both home and work, and I never seemed to have the time to get there. My eyebrows are already thinning, and most waxing places tend to make a thinner brow than I'd like, making me look almost hairless. I've been going for months, and I'm still obsessed with how beautiful my brows look! The owner was so knowledgable about her craft. She taught me how to pull my skin tight so the process would hurt less. (It still hurt, but I'm a weakling and beauty is pain!) She also told me that my skin is dry, which is why my eyebrows are thinning. She gave me a bit of castor oil to put on them at night, and they're much thicker now. It was a great experience. I walked-in spur of the moment, and the owner never treated me like I was a bother. She got right to work and gave me the most fantastic arch! I don't get my eyebrows done often, but when I do, I rarely feel like they have any personality. They just feel like...eyebrows. But this time, I have beautiful arches that shape my face. Ruchi owner of Jiya Eyebrow Threading does all services personally. Ruchi customize the treatment for all three of my services; hot oil hair treatment, organic facial, face and eyebrow threading. Her products are fresh from India which she travels to several times a year. Ruchi skills and technique was passed to her by a family healer in her country. She is a healer with the combination of organic ingredients used to make my skin and hair healthier. Ruchi do not use unhealthy and harsh chemicals with her treatments. During my appointment time for all three services listed took 2-1/2 hours. I was the only client in her lovely room. She was completely focused on my well being and health. We talked about ways to make my skin and hair healthier. A great tip that she told me was to use baking soda in my bath water which makes my skin very soft. Baking soda could also be used as a scrub by making a paste and apply to rough areas of the body. Another tip she suggested to use is organic turmeric and milk for skin irritation. Love, love love getting my eyebrows done here. My eyebrows were pretty thin when i first went in and she gave me tips on how to thicken them. She even suggested me waiting longer between visits before coming back to give my eyebrows some time to grow! I've been coming to Ruchi for more than 2 years now and I won't go to anyone else. She's got a super clean salon that doesn't look much from the outside of the building but her space is great. She's very accessible and always let's me know when she's going to be available or not. I have overpaid for facials at at fancy spas for years only when I could I afford them. When I found Ruchi, I found a little piece of heaven. She has me set up on a once a month schedule and texts me when it is time to schedule.
