    Kids Ramen Meal
    Dawn S.

I finally took my family to this establishment and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered rhe kids meals, which was more than enough for my kiddos. My son and Husband loved there ramen. The Chicken Ramen , Blackened Ramen and Tonkonsu Ramen. I would not order the original tonkonsu ramen again, it didn't taste like tonkonsu at all the flavors of the ramen tasted like soy to me. However the blackened ramen was excellent and the chicken ramen tasted right. The service was great even though they were understaffed. I would go back and enjoy Ramen.

Average ramen. Not as good as KC Craft Ramen. Service was a bit slow. I got the Tan Tan Men with ground chicken instead of pork. I found the broth to taste too peanut heavy and the noodles to be a bit too thick for my liking. They are good about making modifications though.

This is the first time we tried this place. We've been planning on going with a group. We were a group of six people out of which two people wanted to have Raman and rest of them wanted to get other menu items. We reached the restaurant around 9:00 PM and the closing time was 10 o'clock. There were not a lot of people, but they gave us a spot in front of the restaurant where you would see all the DoorDash people stopping their cars, not turning off the lights which would completely flash on your eyes. And the DoorDash would wait in the car until the Dasher gets a confirmation if the food is ready. Now you recommend recommendation to the restaurant people is to let people standing outside with the lights on to know that it is inconvenient for the customers. The server who was helping us with the food, don't seem to have a smile on the face. He was not responding to us, said sometime not giving us clear answers for the questions we were asking and before the kitchen was closed and they wanted to do a last call I was hoping that the server would have come check with us if we wanted to order anything else like dessert or something, but we were directly given a bill. It was almost like telling us to leave the place, which was very rude and embarrassing. Coming back to the food, we loved the Ramen, but the rest of the items(fried chicken, a crispy shrimp) unfortunately they were out of garlic rice, which we wanted to try for sure. But the other ones that we got was not at all delicious. if there is a store owner inside the store taking care of the business should definitely focus on these areas. I'm sure that there are very less Raman places in Kansas and you guys can do much better.

Came here on a cold day for lunch last Sunday as we love ramen. The restaurant was very empty (2 other tables occupied when we arrived and 2-3 by the time we left). Having only a very mediocre experience, I can understand why it was not more busy. The appetizers were ok, but the ramen itself unfortunately disappointed. The spicy miso was not very spicy and both that and the special dish, a tonkotsu broth based ramen, had little flavor. The corn was the best tasting part of the dish. I might be spoiled from living in CA for a few years, but even here in KC we have at least 2 restaurants that make a better tasting ramen.

I had been wanting to try Jinya for forever but was just never in the area. We were finally going to be passing by so we stopped and picked up some takeout for when we got home. Online ordering was easy. The food was ready when it was promised and the order was accurate. The staff members were very friendly. I always like to get edamame. Theirs is exactly what you would expect. Just simple edamame. We also ordered the pork gyoza. These were so good. They were steamed and the filling was perfection. I could honestly just order those as a meal. We also tried the Aburi Oshi-Sushi Shrimp. I have no idea what it really consisted of other than shrimp and rice. But I can tell you that it was delicious. It was light and had a strong lemon flavor but in a refreshing way. I definitely recommend it. Finally, ramen. I went with the Premium Tonkotsu Red: pork broth, pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, seasoned egg, nori, red hot chili oil, spicy bean sprouts, served with thick noodles. You also choose your preference of spice level from 1-10. I opted for a 5. The broth was so good. It was thick and flavorful. I'm glad I didn't go spicier because a 5 was perfect for me. I was still sweating though. The seasoned egg was amazing! Don't skip that. Again, it was delicious and I'd order it again. I will definitely return and I highly recommend you try it out!

A friend and I visited JINYA for restaurant week. They had one of the best deals and I was so intrigued by the menu that I had to check it out. There was some confusion because we couldn't find a way to make a reservation. When we called, they said there wasn't a way for us to get on the list but there was no wait. When we arrived 15 minutes later, we were told it was a 30-40 minute wait. No big deal, but kind of confusing. The food was good but a little inconsistent. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was my favorite; I would absolutely order this again. The crispy chicken was good, but a little hard to eat. I also had the chicken chashu bowl which was good, but I felt like it was missing a sauce. I was so excited about the matcha tiramisu, but mine came out pretty frozen. It still tasted good! Our waitress was great and the dining room had a great vibe.

This was the first time I had been back since they opened and I wasn't overly impressed. Despite it being packed, we were immediately seated and waited on. The restaurant was stuffy and humid inside, but it did have a nice romantic ambiance with the dimmed lights. We sat against the wall and the tables were so close together, I could hear two different parties' conversations. The food itself wasn't bad, but I thought it was slightly pricey compared to other ramen spots. You do get a good portion--I had leftovers for a snack, while my boyfriend finished all of his--but honestly the best part was the soft boiled egg. I got a level 4 spice Tonkotsu Red bowl and my mouth was on fire. My boyfriend got a spicy level Spicy Chicken ramen and it wasn't hot at all, even after adding hot chili. I tried it and it gave me similar vibes to chicken noodle soup...It wasn't bad, but I'd rather go somewhere else next time.

First time trying out this fun little Ramen bar! The atmosphere is really great! The space has awesome decor and the staff were extremely friendly and attendance to our entrance. We had 3 little ones with us and our waitress did a great job of keeping up with us. Our littlest tried the kids meal. It was a great array to try a couple of the menus item. Ramen with corn, white rice, French fries, chicken and ice cream! It was a big hit! He raved about the chicken and "noodle soup". Of course the ice cream lasted 3 seconds. We also tried the spicy chicken ramen. It was good, it it lacked a little flavor. Not quite spicy, but also needed a little more something. The ramen noodles were the skinny so didn't seem to soak up much broth. Definitely a big portion though! I would order it again, but try hot. We had the Birra Ramen too. That was super good! Lots of flavor and healthy portion or meat and loved the thicker Ramen noodles. Potstickers are a hit with the little ones too!

I so much enjoyed my first visit here. The place looks very nice and chill. They have amazing service and the food tastes wonderful. I'm looking forward to going back so that I can try some other items. If you're into the ramen thing, you should check them out.

The service and atmosphere was fantastic! I had probably the best Matcha I have ever tasted and the food was so amazing! I've already sent multiple people there since! We will be back and I definitely recommend!

This was our first time here, we came because of the restaurant week deal. Our reservation was at 6pm and we sat around 6:15. We then weren't assigned a server and sat for a half hour. I had to ask the host after being sat for service. Our server was amazing he was very personable and apologetic. The drinks we got were very good, my bf got hot sake and I had a matcha lychee lemonade. The salad was fine not our favorite, I did like the crispy rice with spicy tuna. As for the ramen it lacked flavor in general. My bf said chicken noodle soup broth had more flavor... and then for the dessert we tried to order mochi and the tiramisu matcha which came with the restaurant week deal and since they ran out of both we got vanilla ice cream which while tasty not equivalent. Again our server was awesome and the only reason this review is not one star.

We went to JINYA Ramen Bar during Restaurant Week and were disappointed to find that they were already out of several Restaurant Week menu items, which was frustrating since that was the main reason for our visit. We ordered the Crispy Chicken, Salmon Tacos, House Salad, Takoyaki, and the Blackened Tonkotsu Ramen. Unfortunately, the overall flavor and quality really missed the mark. The takoyaki wasn't crispy at all, the Crispy Chicken tasted like it had been frozen, and the Blackened Tonkotsu was especially underwhelming. The egg in the ramen was not a ramen style egg, it was just a regular boiled egg, and there was still eggshell on it, which completely ruined the dish for me. We didn't even finish more than half of what we ordered. On the positive side, the staff was very kind and attentive, and the atmosphere itself was nice. I really wanted to like this place, but the food quality and flavor just weren't there for the price point. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

Server was so sweet to go over the entire menu as it was our first visit. Everything we had was great.

We were able to do a walkthrough and trial run ahead of time, and they thoughtfully helped us design a layout that made perfect sense for our intimate 40-person reception. Their guidance made the entire space feel intentional, comfortable, and beautifully put together. The space itself is absolutely stunning--elevated, warm, and perfect for a smaller, more personal celebration. When we arrived after our ceremony, the room flip was seamless and everything was exactly as planned. But what truly set Verdigris apart was the service. The staff was phenomenal--attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making our night special. Every detail was handled with care, and we were able to be fully present and enjoy the evening with our guests. We reserved the space for three hours, and it was 100% worth it. If you're considering hosting a private event--especially a wedding reception or intimate gathering--this is the place to do it. We would choose Verdigris again in a heartbeat. They offer a wide variety of fancy, creative drinks, though they definitely sit at a higher price point. Unfortunately, the customer service didn't match the upscale price tag. When a few additional members of our party arrived, the staff flat-out refused to let us pull up an extra chair or move any of the seating to accommodate them. What made this especially frustrating was that half the establishment was completely empty at the time. When you are paying top dollar for craft cocktails in a lounge setting, you expect a certain level of hospitality and flexibility. We were nice and asked but was met with coldness that did not match the venue. The last time I was here the service was friendly, so not sure what changed. While the drinks are visually impressive, the rigid and unaccommodating seating policy put a definite damper on our evening. We quickly closed out and went to dinner early so a business associate would not be left standing the entire time. This establishment is better if you were coming for a date night or with a friend and not with a group.

For our drinks we orders 'Have a Cigar' and a low sugar mocktail they created for me. Both were made very well and were super refreshing. For our mains, we ordered, 'Black Cardamon Burnt ends', 'Tandoori Chicken' and 'Smash burger with peri peri fries' and for desert we ordered the parle g mango ice-cream' sandwich with some aromatic chai. My most favorite dish out of all were the burnt ends - they had a superb fusion flavor of Indian spices which went well with the meat and paired well with the grits. Trust me when i say this that i would eat this everyday for the rest of my life if i could. The smash burger and peri peri fries were excellent and definitely hit the spot. The real disappointed was with Tandoori chicken. I felt the chicken did not pair well with the sambar risotto and the fried okra even though it tasted good, was an after thought. The rice in the risotto was very grainy and undercooked. I told that to our server and they instantly apologized and acknowledged the issue and also proceeded to remove the dish from our bill. After that the chai was very warm and comforting and the parle g ice-cream biscuits were nostalgic and a great way to finish the meal. While not every dish was perfect, i love the excellent customer service they provided and the way the owner/manager/staff handled our feedback. I will be back to try more food here - 5/5.

We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

Also, the HVAC was exceptionally loud and kind of whistled. I mean, we appreciate A/C, don't get me wrong, but by the time you have the upbeat music, the yelling, and the loud HVAC we were ready for some sensory deprivation by the time it was all over. Those tornado fries (probably referring to them by the wrong name) were fantastic. So good! The sandwich was good, not great, nothing particularly wrong with it either. The price was great for sure. The nachos put on quite a show, they come out stacked to the clouds, but once you start digging in, you realize there's way, way, way more chips than toppings and just kind of sad. Things tasted great, but just give me less chips so I can actually taste the cheese and stuff. Then, at the bottom of the mountain was a heap of cheese that you couldn't get to at all until you dig clear to the bottom. We'll be back I'm sure. At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours).
