Although I have had Swedish therapeutic massage, she demonstrated to me how deep tissue massage did not have to be uncomfortable! She used soft pressure-deep tissue technique, which lovely! Being local my friends treated me with a massage GC to Jinsei Spa. I LOVE massages. Coming to Jisei Spa was so easy, started with very easy scheduling assistance. Parking is right by the premise. I was pleasantly welcomed by Lexi, and been taken to the ladies facility, where I was given a locker, robe, and shoes. right there you have a relaxation room with cold water and delicious hot tea, with mix trail. I have waited for my massage therapist. Most of the time I don't find the therapist successful. However, Alan was THE BEST. He was fully present, listened to my sore places. It showed in the session, where he treated it with such professionalism, and care. Knowing exactly how to create a cohesive flow throughout the session. I took the deep tissue massage. After the session, I did use the steam room what a perfect choice. I hope to come back again. Maybe creating a membership option for locals :) read more

I recently tried Jinsei for the first time. After not having good luck with the cheap manicures and not wanting to spend $70+ at Anjou, I thought I would try here. When I called to make my appointment the girl was very nice and helpful. She worked with my schedule to get me in when it was convenient for me. Upon arrival, the girls at the front desk were very nice. If you are just getting nail work done, there really isn't a comfortable waiting area. You either have to stand around or sit in the middle of their retail area. The technician came and we settled in. I enjoyed the scrub, mask, massage and cuticle work. I thought she spent enough time and care with all three. The final product thought was good, but not great. The entire nail isn't polished and you can see where different layers are. The final product was not that much better than the cheaper manicures. Still, the entire experience was better and my nails still do look good if you are not staring at them. So all in all, this is a good 4 star location. Better than average, but not 5 stars. The last comment is that when she was done, she didn't rush me out (they weren't busy), but I never felt that I got a look of "time to go." read more

I had a lovely pedicure at Jinsei spa. The spa is organized and professional. Not a lot of availability so they could only get me in for a pedicure, not a manicure/pedicure. It is a relaxing and pretty spa. Good experience overall. Would go back again. Remember to take cash for tips! This spa does not allow you to add a tip to your credit card. They are environmentally aware so don't forget your own flip-flops for after the pedi! read more

Yeah, I've definitely had better. Emily P and I hit the place in hopes of relaxing and enjoying each other's company... but there were these little dividers between us, and so we had to lean forward to see each other (of course, we could still talk - but it's always nice to see the face). Annoying. Our ladies were pretty nice, but I'll have to agree with Em that I'd rather have them not talk to me and receive some serious cleaning and work. I have pretty low-key feet, and I just got a pedicure a couple months ago... so come on, don't leave that dirt in the toes, and don't leave me desiring MUCH more in the way of a massaged leg and foot. $56 (including tip) is WAY too much to spend for 30 minutes. Last time I had a $50 pedicure it rocked (good massage, hour long investment), and I was thinking that $50 was worth it. This time, however, I want my money back - or a better massaged leg with clean toes! Take your pick, Jinsei... Also, I'll again agree with Em about the website. Please take that music out of there... or at least provide me with a way to mute it. I was all ready to ditch out due to the annoying website. Like I've said before, I'm a website girl... and this one left quite a bit to be desired. It also took me forever to find out what their hours were. Help me out here... Results: another over-priced joint in Bend that probably won't make it. They were dead when we were there on a weekend - not a good sign. Oh my sweet baby jesus. I'm literally speechless, this place is so amazing. First of all, definitely get there 15 minutes early to take advantage of their steam room and tea/cucumber water if you're getting a massage. They provide you with lovely robes and slippers and a locker to leave all your things. For Christmas I got my boyfriend the couples massage and we both got pedicures (I've been trying to talk him into a man-pedi for months -- he kept thinking they would paint his nails). The couples massage was UNREAL. You spend around 30 minutes in an aromatherapy bath with a fireplace, champagne and strawberries. It's SO romantic and beautiful, it's just ridiculous. Ridiculous. Our massages were the best we've both ever had, hands down. While booking our whole afternoon, they were absolutely perfect in giving us a good amount of time to sit and zone out for 15 minutes after our massages before someone came to find us in the waiting area/steam room and brought us to our pedicures. Everyone I spoke to was extremely nice and professional. I was just in awe at how well organized and efficiently executed everything was at Jinsei. Two days later, I still feel like mush. I'm wondering when I can find an excuse to go back to Bend just so I can get another massage at Jinsei... Honestly. Worth. Every. Penny. read more

I've had 2 massage sessions in the recent 2 weeks from 2 masseuses here at Jinsei. And they are both 5 star. I've been getting regular massage for over 40 years and I've been trained in the art. We had booked an appointment or I thought through their website and got a confirmation email stating the date and time this Sunday at 12pm. Well when she called me back I guess they didn't have time for two weeks and I had already planned a babysitter and had it all set up so my husband and I could go. I am very disappointed. They are booked out until March and the times she offered me we are busy with kids. Call them do not use their website. I can not comment on their services as now we do not get to go. I haven't had a pedicure in over 3 years, and when my sister came to town to have a "girls" day, what better way to spend some time than to have a side-by-side pedicure! This is going to be a BIG treat!!!! After searching and searching, it seemed as though Jinsei Spa was one of the very few places in Bend offering a side-by-side on Sunday - GREAT! Although, at first, I was very put off by the crappy music from the website (it's really annoying), I was determined not to let that stop me from making an appointment. The receptionist was very friendly - made our appointments, and we were all scheduled to go. The front waiting room, the bathroom, the nail room, they were all very well decorated and warm. After choosing our colors, we sat down on comfy seats and set our toes in the warm bubbling water. Our two nail technicians were friendly...but I think I'd rather take a great pedicure rather than a friendly face! Overall, I have to say that the pedicure was poor, average at best! My pedicure barely lasted 35 minutes, though I paid $48 for 45 minutes. The foot/leg massage was weak (I stand on my feet all day, every day, and THAT was what I was looking forward to the most). And, it gross, yes, but I pay for a pedicure to have someone else really dig deep into my toes and get all the gunk out - no luck here ladies. So, for the rare times that I actually make it to a spa to get a special treatment...I'll have to try another place - ESPECIALLY if I'm going to shell out another 50 bucks! In the mean time, I'll have to get out my own clippers and get diggin'. read more

After trying a few of the other places in Bend and Sunriver, Jinsei is my favorite. My sister and I decided to use a gift card she had and get our massages in the same room. Granted it was the "couples" room and the little bathtub was funny, but the massages were great and we could talk to each other at the same time. She has gone back again and didn't have a great massage, but she also didn't speak up when she wasn't happy which is not a good thing when you are trusting someone with your sore muscles. Totally worth the time and money! Had a great massage with Karen. Have had many massages in my life and from great people in Bend. Karen was tops. She listened to my preferences and needs throughout the entire massage. The music and facility had just the right relaxing ambiance to set the relaxing mood. I'd go weekly if I could. The only drawback is the locker room isn't very private. The robes are not meant for curvy larger girls and the slippers were small. And the steam room is really meant for 2 people MAX. read more

Just had a deep tissue massage with Jayne - the amount of pressure she used was perfect. Felt awesome.

My husband and I treated ourselves to the Yin-Yang couples package and the spa experience was exactly what I was looking for. The check-in area is cozy with lots of different products offered. The nail salon is just off to the right when you enter. But once you get back into the spa area, the place is transformed. We were led downstairs where we felt immersed in a darkness that was comforting and relaxing. The changing room was nice, cozy, with lockers, only one toilet room, one shower. Definitely try out the Pure Fiji lotion. I ended up buying a bottle before I left. My only con is that there wasn't a lot of counter space for me to use when I needed to get ready (for dinner) after my massage. We were told we could use the sauna or enjoy the relaxation room before our massage but we didn't get a chance to since we were ushered into our suite as soon as we got out of the changing room (the only part that seemed rushed). The couple's suite is all encompassing and very romantic. I liked that we could stay in the room the whole time and didn't have to move. There was a fireplace but no fire, which is fine because it was warm outside! Our bath was ready and waiting once we got into the room. We had champagne, water, and chocolates to enjoy in the bath for about 25 minutes before our massages started. The massages were excellent! My husband fell asleep, which he hardly does during massages. And I enjoyed my deep tissue massage. I would go back! read more

First I must say the building, the ambiance, the decor, aroma is amazing A+! We come from out of town 2-3x a year and this spa is always a priority stop! Have never had less than an amazing massage here until today. My husband had Christina, whom I had last time and she is very in tune to the body and really works, slow and methodically each knot. Perfection! But today I had someone I had for the first time and it was horrible! Her name is Karen. Her style is what I would say "rolling pin" a lot of forearm rolling over the apparent knots and not ever slowing down to focus on them. It was a one size fits all, fast and determined .. to finish. Basically felt like she did not care. She did not work one knot out. She was very nice and clearly has tons of experience as she said she has been there 10 years when asked ( I feel like she must be burnt out and have attitude of go in, get it done, get out), Unlike all the other therapists that have been amazing. I still would recommend the spa all day long! Just know Karen's style is fast, and unintentional regardless of request of pointing out knots. Not in tune to ones body at all! read more

The are awful I was given a gift card and I tried to make an appointing and they don't paint acrylic nails. That I understand. Then I asked for a face skin sample but they said they were out of the sample...ok get that. Third I asked to trade in the gift card add money to it to give back to my daughter because she would use their products. They said "no" we can't do that. I find that too be awful customer service. I received a Jinsei gift card as a thank you from another business over a year ago. I've tried more than 8 times to use it and Jinsei is always booked. Staff is not overly pleasant or apologetic. They don't need new customers so they don't care if you never come in. They won't buy their own cards back. I will be recommending to the realtor that gave it to me not to use Jinsei. Made an appointment for my wife's Birthday. Received 4 different text messages to confirm and remind me. We showed up to surprise her and they had canceled her appointment. I understand that things happen, one of their practitioners got sick. However, the lady at the counter was "nice" confrontational and I felt like she was blaming me for not getting their "frantic" phone calls (despite getting at text reminder at 10am when her appointment was for noon). My husband and I booked a Ying and Yang fireside bath and massage for our honeymoon. It was simply amazing and just what we needed. We came about 30 minutes early to take advantage of the steam room. Then our time started out with some bubbly, chocolates and a bath. Then we had an hour massage side by side. The masseuse's were amazing, used great pressure and it was so relaxing. Jinsei is THE premier spa in Bend, hands down! All the treatments offered are stellar but I have a particular affinity for the facials. As much as I love Bend, the extreme dryness was reeking havoc on my skin and after a couple years of failed attempts to overcome this new problem, I went to Jinsei for help. Soon after I switched over to the Arcona skincare line and began a new regiman that includes getting facials every 2-3 months. Every visit is customized to what's going on with my skin at the moment, the weather, etc. so it's always a personalized experience. The results have been astounding and all my girlfriends have followed suit. The staff is also amazing and the moment you walk in, regardless of what treatment you're getting, you can literally feel the stress melting away. I also can't say enough about all the amazing products that Jinsei carries. My current favorite is the Pure Fiji White Gingerlily lotion, which I use every night before bed- it's super hydrating, all natural & the best aromatherapy I've found in a long time! read more
