At Anjou Spa, I encountered the futility of mankind's attempt to soothe itself against the indifference of the cosmos. I undertook this passage not merely for leisure, but for an ailment so absurd it eludes the annals of medicine: a phantom ache in the marrow of my left eyebrow, a pain that seemed to echo from the Pleistocene. Ashlee--or at least I believe her name was Ashlee, though time is but an illusion and memory a fragile hallucination--tended to me with care far above reproach. As if by miracle the eyebrow pain dissolved, or perhaps it never existed at all. I love everything about Anjou. The massage therapists and aestheticians are professional, highly skilled and just great people. Popping into the sand room before or after services is a must. Easy 5 stars, but I would give 6 stars if I could just to compensate for some of these unjustified negative reviews. I paid 1/4 of what I would have paid in Portland for my Steam/Sand (infrared sauna) combination. Sixty minutes of silence and detox... and on top of that, when the steam room took an extra couple of minutes to heat up , THEY COMPLETELY REMOVED THE CHARGE FOR MY PARTNER'S STEAM/SAND APPT. It was a much needed relaxing experience. We weren't pushed to purchase any upgrades. If I lived in Bend area then I would be back at least two or three times a month. read more

Unfortunately we didn't get to make it to bend for our massages we had booked for my boyfriends birthday. But I had to get on here and leave a good review because of my experience with the staff at Anjou Spa. We were on our way to Bend from California early Saturday morning and 2 hours into our drive we hit a deer that ran right front of us at 70+ mph totaling out car. After making sure everyone was ok and we contacted insurance and tow company one of the first things I thought of was the air bnb and massages at a spa we booked and paid for. I also work as a cosmetologist at a salon and spa so I immediately wanted to let the spa know we weren't gonna be able to make it as soon as possible. The reception Was very understanding and checked to make sure we were all ok and apologized that it happened to us and so graciously (without argument ) refunded our "non refundable" deposit. They definitely did NOT have to do that as i agreed to the deposit and the salons terms and completely understand since I am I service provider myself who works at a salon that also enforces a cancellation policy. Their compassion for our situation was truly amazing and I am very grateful for their understanding and willingness to refund our deposit making our situation a little less painful.. I will absolutely be happy to book With them again in the near future when we can finally make it to bend. Top tier customer service and we are so appreciative. Thank you Anjou Spa! Update: When I left I had redness that I was told would go away. Woke up and now there are bruises under my eyes/along my cheekbones. :( I do facial cupping at home and have never had this happen. This is an absolutely beautiful spa! I really wanted to love it and was planning on trying multiple treatments before I leave Bend at the end of the week but now I'm not sure. Ambiance: 5 stars Cleanliness: 5 stars Technique,actual treatment,experience: 2 stars I received The Works with the added Microcurrent. The Works is supposed to be a 90 minute treatment. The technician was running late to my appointment and only gave me an 80 min. I was told the Microcurrant would add 8ish minutes so that would have been nearly 100 minutes but I received 80. It was super awkward at the end. Usually I would be allowed to get up and get dressed. When the esthetician said I was done she said that before I get up she wanted to tell me about all the products. She started breathlessly rambling off the different products as fast as possible. She was behind me so it felt very strange to strain my head back to look at her and I gave up and just looked up at the ceiling as she went through the list. It killed the relaxing mood a lot. A few tips: -When applying skin care or taking it off, apply upwards. Applying downwards actually ages the face. - The way the cupping was done around the eye was also very aging. It's best to hold the skin so it doesn't drag and stretch. You need to also move the cup quickly and not leave it too long in one place. -Microcurrent can be used to sculpt the face and that's how I received it in the past. So instead of running it across the skin, use it on the muscles, cheekbones, and to bring the eyebrows up. -make sure to clean the product off before the next step. Several times the mask/scrub was left on and when I left I still felt scrub/sticky. -I was asked to fill out a skin intake form but it was never read and I had to reexplain. read more

Awesome massage from Madison today! I get massages regularly, and so I've had my fair share of massages that felt like you were just getting oil rubbed all over you. Not with Madison!! She gave lots of time to the areas that needed attention (which she figured out herself), and genuinely cared. Equally as wonderful is Debbie who does a legit cupping massage. Cups all over! And your trouble spot just feels lighter when you leave. So recommend. The sauna room is not to be missed (might have to still reserve it, ask when booking appt). It's like you're enjoying a hot evening in the outback of Australia under the stars. Check in, have a cup of tea, leisurely put on your robe/slippers, sit in the lounge by the fire and enjoy. I'm still working on finding a great esthetician for a facial at Anjou (all have been super nice), but they hire regularly so fingers crossed they hire a super expert that I'd feel confident getting a hydrafacial. read more

Most relaxing and soothing prenatal massage!! The aches and pains of pregnancy made me initially nervous to be laying for an hour but Megan was quick to ensure my overall comfort. I was able to lay somewhat on my side and partially propped up. The whole experience was lovely and I felt SO much relief in my lower back. I received a Christmas gift of a massage and have to say that the one I got from Jenn has got to be one of the best massages I've ever had! I've been getting a few massages every year for the past 25 years and this one was so incredible. Jenn asked me about the areas I wanted extra special care on and really worked on my tight shoulders. Anjou has a terrible cancellation policy. I scheduled a massage for my wife's birthday but she needed to postpone due to complications with our infant. They charged us 50% ($77.50) of the total massage price as a cancellation fee rather than allowing us to reschedule or apply as a credit. I wouldn't recommend Anjou to anyone who needs a bit of flexibility. Jenna W: It is not the policy of every other spa in town. We frequent many spas in Bend and have never had issues rescheduling . They happen to be way more flexible, understanding, professional, and accommodating. As should any good business. This is why people return and recommend them. I have a hard time doing that when someone takes $70+ without providing any service or solution. No one in management even called us back to discuss our situation but you obviously got the message we left with the front desk as you are now quoting pieces of it on here. Bottom line, your customer service is terrible; hence why I left the "worst rating you could give a business" on here. Worst facial I have ever had. The gal rubbed my face so many times using the same pattern that my face became raw. She also shorted the facial by ten minutes. When you pay for 60 minutes, this is what you should get. When I said something to the gal at the counter when checking out, she could have cared less. Anjou cancelled my massage because my masseuse is sick, which is 100% understandable. The reason for the one star review is, Anjou will charge a 50% fee for a 24 hr cancellation and 100% fee for the same day cancellation. They cancelled on me the same day (aprox 5 hrs prior to the massage) without even offering a 50% or 100% credit/discount to re-book. Similar to a Seinfeld episode, how is it fair/professional to charge the customer a late cancellation fee, yet the business itself can cancel at anytime? There are A LOT of great massage/spas in town. Look elsewhere! read more

I had a wonderful experience here! I booked a facial. It was a relaxing and calm environment. The aesthetician that did my facial treatment was wonderful (Kayla). She consulted with me before getting started, was friendly but also calm, and created a relaxing environment during my treatment. I can't say enough good things. What a bummer of an experience!! Not going back here. Really sad because my mother and sister have been multiple times. I drove 20 minutes To specifically purchase two products and wanted to give them the service. (Sunday 1/23) two teenage girls working the front desk without masks on. Long dark hair and very big eye lashes. I came in and told them that I was just getting product and then I would love to go to the face studio, as that is where the product was:) The teenage (who also was dressed incredibly inappropriate) told me To keep my mask up over my nose ( I just gave birth days ago and was having a hard time Breathing for a MOMENT.) it took forever to ring me up, I asked for a bag. She rudely said we don't have bags. I asked for a receipt- she said "I emailed you" very rudely. As a first time customer - what an awful experience. I have been getting my massages from the same spot in town for the past 5 years. I decided to try Anjou out. Let me first start off by saying the parking here is awesome. There is always a front spot which is an awesome way to start out a relaxing day at the spa. When you walk in you are always promptly greeted. The waiting room is dark and extremely relaxing and dark. The bathrooms are very clean and new with lots of space. The steam room is a great way to start and end a massage at Anjou. Megan is who I usually see and I can't imagine seeing anyone else. I'm sure they are all fantastic but Megan always seems to find my trouble spots. Everything seems to be very modern. If you are a local or just visiting you need to check out Anjou for an amazing experience. read more

It's been since November or so that I was at Anjou, so I'm not sure the most recent changes. My sister-in-law and I used to have the monthly membership. During the pandemic certain services couldn't be utilized, which was completely understandable. We kept with our memberships because we found a couple providers that we still really enjoyed getting facials and massages from. As time went on, there was frequent service provider turnover, and we had a hard time finding anyone that gave the same quality facial we remembered when we first started. At the front desk, it felt like things were always getting confused and mixed up with billing and our reservations. Part of all the dysfunction is probably due to the high-turnover and constant training needed. I miss my regular visits to the spa, but the quality dwindled and I've found someone else in Sisters that takes more time to read my skin and pays attention to the little details. Anjou still has all the potential to be the best spa in Bend. Great space. read more

Cameras in every massage room, beware. Hey, in this digital age, there's a camera about everywhere, but in the massage room is probably not the best place to put a i-pad like tablet on the wall with the infamous pinhole camera on top...I'm sure they're not in use, or at least I give them the benefit of the doubt, but why not cover them with some tape or something? Even though I booked a massage online 2 weeks prior to get the therapist I wanted and showed up 15 mins early for a quick steam, they switched therapists on me in a hurried "surprise" type of way and said...sorry, she went home sick...later to find out she no longer works for them for whatever reason and again another pathetic, oops, sorry after I checked out and mentioned it to them. Being a big fan of the "hot n cold" therapy they still get 4 stars for being the only "spa atmosphere" in Bend with both a steam and sort of sauna, (infrared and mildly warm) but are 10x better than the no frills massage envy type place that's similar in price per month. Yes, the locker rooms are small, with 1 shower, and every time I've been the only guy in there so it's easy for me, but I'm sure if even 1 other guy was in there it'd feel cramped, can't imagine the women's locker area as that seems to be the majority customer, they wasted space for the enormous toilet room and cramped everything else...the wife agrees and is not a member but I will remain despite the minor annoyances. read more
