So far, So Good !! I went for a fitting and I think it will turn out great. I needed the dress made larger. It needed a few inches up top. I researched if this was possible to make a dress larger and everything I Read said yes The first shop I went to was called: Alterations with Style -just terrible they said they could not make a dress larger. The lady at Alterations w/Style as so rude. So I got in my car and I googled the next alterations shop. I found one about 2 miles away. I called JIN's shop and asked if they can make a dress larger. They said yes of course. I bought it in to Jin's Alterations. They were so so so sweet. Very accommodating and so nice. I tired on the dress they had me stand in front of the mirror and - Talking about all the different ways they could fix it to be larger. Giving me lots of choices. Ahhhhhh thank goodness I kept going and found a real alterations shop. I'll update later when the dress is done. Very Happy today ! read more

She fixed the shoulder straps of a dress so that it was no longer too big, and I'm fully satisfied with the work. I needed a bridesmaid dress altered on the fly. After trying to find a place nearby me that could alter it and not finding one (one flat out told me no they could not do it and two shops were closed), I decided to give Jin's a call based on the reviews. The lady that helped me over the phone and in person (Su Jin? I probably spelled that wrong) was excellent. She was friendly and explained everything perfectly that would be done on the dress. I believe it is a mother daughter team that owns this shop and they are both so wonderful! This place is not nearby me at all so I had to drive out of my way, but was well worth it. My dress was done in about a week. I did have to come back twice for fittings but am just glad they were able to do what I needed on the dress in such a short amount of time. Highly recommend this shop and will only be using them for any future alterations I might need. read more

Thank goodness I found Jin's! I spent $300 on a bridesmaid dress in Seattle and somehow let the boutique talk me into a size much larger than what I normally wear based on my "measurements". I know bridesmaid dresses run small, but when she told me I needed six sixes larger than what I normally wear I was skeptical but trusted what she was telling me. Fast forward to the dress coming in. Yep, huge. I was swimming in it. I decided to leave it loose in the waist to save funds (since I had already spent $300) but had her take in the top. A LOT. She pinned several inches and then took it in. She is also fast - everything was done in less than two weeks and I still had two weeks to spare before the wedding. She told me her preference is to do alterations about two weeks out from an event. I appreciate that she is open until 6 on weekdays and even lets you come in on Saturdays if you call ahead. I had two fittings and one final fitting during the pickup. She noticed the eye hook was a little loose as I was leaving and sewed it for me in about five minutes. I enjoyed the small talk with her and her daughter who does most of the translating. Oh, and the final cost? $32.00. I was surprised. That was the most altering I've needed and the least amount of money I've ever paid. Jin has a new customer in me for sure. read more

After reading the reviews here and discounting the two reviews whining because Jin changed her business model and now specializes in WOMEN'S clothing alterations, I am VERY GLAD that I did chose Jin's to do my alterations. Jin altered five nice dresses from Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom's that I bought for my girlfriend for Christmas. Jin did an EXCELLENT JOB! She was very thorough and precise, did a first and second fitting, and delivered a great product! My girlfriend is SO excited about the dresses now. Thank you, Jin! Jin's Alterations is AMAZING. I took three suits and four dresses into be altered, and with my past experiences with alterations, I was very nervous! However, right when I got in there I felt so welcomed and you could really care that they care about what they do and that they focus on the customer. The dresses that I took in were lined and needed to be completely revamped (hemmed, taken in) etc. and they altered them flawlessly. I brought in three dresses.. Two were to be shortened and one to be be tightest around the top. She shortened all three and did not touch the top of the one. She ruined a dress that I had not even worn yet. Then proceeded to tell me that sometimes she makes mistakes. Did she not write these things down? Trying to talk to her about this was ridiculous as she was argumentative, hard to understand and loud! I left in tears. read more

I have trusted Jin with my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, and my $1,000 suits. Everything she does is flawless and to perfection. She does not allow me to take anything until it looks absolutely perfect. She has done everything from hemming to completely re-making my wedding dress (and everything in-between). She is courteous and gets things done quickly and cost-effectively. I have sent many people her direction. I would recommend giving her at least 2 weeks for any major alteration (wedding dress, suit, etc. as she needs a few fittings to get it perfect). Trust Jin with your clothing! read more

I had my pants altered here. I thought they did a good job at $10.70 for a pair of pants. I had a little hard time understanding the dresser's English because she has a heavy Korean accent but I got by just fine. They had my pants ready as promised. So I'm glad I used their services. read more

If I had to sum it up...."Saving grace" I needed to have a business suit fitted and altered to my frame on short notice, and searched the entire Tampa bay area - this place was the only one open late that didn't quote me 10 days. Mind you, nobody had an expedited service (whaaat!? - my thought) The one existing review gave me some hope, and boy oh boy am I glad I went there :-) The mom/daughter run alteration shop is very nicely set up, clean, homey & they are very nice folks, very caring, as well as priced very very fairly (imo). I was desperate as I needed some things done on a short enough notice to realize that they will likely deny me the work in the timeframe I had....but lo & behold, how surprised & happy they left me. I was already more than willing to pay extra for an expedited service, however....not only would they not allow me to pay them what I thought their labor was worth to me, they truly made me feel valued beyond belief and earned my repeat business. I will be back, and I hope if you are reading this, that you give them a chance - they are worth your business & time. Searching with no direction I stumbled upon this fantastic little mother/daughter operation. I'm very pleased that I did. I recently needed to get a brides maid dress altered. Davis bridal demanded at least a month, Jin did it in 3 days! She gave me options for different approaches to the alteration. The waist had to be taken in and she also added darts around the bust forming a much more ideal fit. Her work was very impressive. This woman is very skilled. Her daughter does translate to her, but they are an effective team. Priced very reasonably i highly recommend this location for all your alteration needs. Very polite. I found this business through Yelp and chose it because it's close to me and the high reviews. I am very happy I found this place. I needed a dress brought in for a event on the weekend. Dropped off Tuesday and picked it up Friday. A perfect fit. It was a fairly simple job but the results are great and professionally done. I went to Jin after finding her good reviews on Yelp to alter my wedding dress. First time I want to alter my zipper so it works better and widen my arm holes. Job was done, I did not see much of difference, zipper was still not working well and the arm holes were still tight but little better. Second time I went to Jin to alter the bottom part of my wedding dress. It was "puffy" and I want to remove some material from it so it would be more flat. Jin agreed and she was very nice. She made very good impression on me although sometimes it was not so easy to understand her. Which we talked about and I understand since English is not my first language either. I came for first fitting and we both agreed on material to be removed. Jin quoted me final price. She kept saying it is so much work, so much work. That was little annoying already cause at the end of the day I was willing to pay as much as quoted for it and I was not happy with her saying that dress is fine. If I am not happy with it, it is not fine. I came for "final fitting" and I was not happy. In my opinion not enough material was removed and Jin agreed it was her mistake so she would fix it. The last time I came was yesterday. I thought it was only for fitting so I did not bring money for payment. The dress was ready. I looked at it and my heart dropped. The front of dress had one quarter size BLOOD stain and one 5 times bigger BLOOD smudge right in front of my WHITE WEDDING DRESS. I am sure any women can emphasized with terror I felt. First Jin said she does not know what it is. Then she admitted it is blood and it happens all the time (!). No apologies. She came with Hydrogen Peroxide and cleaned the stains.... Now my dress smells great. She said it is fine cause I need to dry clean it either way cause she did not keep dress in garment bag and it is all dusty at the bottom! I got super upset cause dress was clean and ready to be wear on my wedding day that is next week! Anyway I just took dress and went to try it on. She kept saying it was so much work and it took her long and I understood that and I was ready to give her extra tip. But I was not saying anything cause 1) I was trying on the dress and 2) I was still so angry and not in mood for small talk. I came out, dress was ok. Jin was getting more and more angry cause she saw I was not too responsive. She told me she will never do this job again, it is not worth it, and no money from it, so long work. I understand all that but she quoted my price and she made a mistake. She knew what has to be done and she agreed to it. I do not understand why I have to be responsible here. The worst part was the end of visit when and sooooo uncalled for, she got so angry she started yelling at me cause I was still not happy about the stains. And she said she has no money from it and she will not pay for the stains she made. This was so disrespectful and not necessary. I decided instead of picking up dress today I would go back home for my wallet and just get it over with. She was still yelling when I left. I cried on my way home, my fiancé went back with me cause I was so shaken. He was waiting outside (I did not want him to see dress). She was again rude and disrespectful, yelled so much I could not say word in between. I just asked her to please count the money cause I want to leave. She took money and I left. I normally never add reviews with unpleasant experience cause I do not want to be reason of anyone losing business but I never was treated so disrespectfully in my life. I do not recommend this place. Yes it is cheap but your garments are not treated with care and you may ended up paying more at the end. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

I've been here several times to have pants hemmed, including silk lining. My boyfriend had linen pants to be hemmed. All were done skillfully. I walked in, spent less than five minutes while she pinned them, and a day later they were done. Quick service. Never had a problem with translation; you could tell she's been doing this for a while. read more
