We made a very large takeout order for multiple people. Our order was taken with ease and our food was prepared fairly quickly for the amount of food that we ordered. Our orders were all correct and the food was still hot when we got ready to eat them. Multiple packages of sauce and fortune cookies were included in our bags. The only issue we had was that there was not any plastic ware in our bags. I got an egg roll, an order of shrimp fried rice, & the lunch order of general tso chicken with onion rice. I really enjoyed the chicken and rice. The portion size was good for a lunch special. The egg roll was also good. The food also tasted good reheated. The fried rice was ok when I ate it later. I am not sure that I would get it again. But I would return to the restaurant for the chicken, egg rolls, and to try other items. read more

I recently moved into a new home at Renaissance Park and as you can guess when you're moving, cooking doesn't make a lot of sense given how busy you are. You rely on a lot of fast food and take-out to minimize fuss and muss so I've started exploring the neighborhood. In the mood for some Chinese-American eats to supplement Taco Bell and Cook-Out, I spy Jin Jin China right around the corner from me. I head on over to a slightly run-down plaza and inside it's super basic. I mean, beyond basic with all seating cordoned off and some extra plastic shields for COVID-protection. I put in my order for a couple of dinners (beef-broccoli and garlic-chicken) along with some wonton soup. I wait outside, per the directions and head back in after 15 minutes. They hand me over a nicely packed bag of Chinese-American eats and I head home. At home, I dig through the nicely packed eats, I've got some fried wonton noodles for the soup, a large quart container of wonton soup along with two white containers for each meal. Now given how basic this place is, how can I give it 4 stars?!? Good question but I basically ate the food over four meals so for value, Jin Jin is delivering it. For Chinese-American eats, I look for the little hints of going above and beyond. The soup wontons were huge and well-stuffed with meat. For the meals, the veggies included: green pepper, zucchini, mushroom, baby corn, snow peas and more. Onions, carrots and broccoli are pretty basic but Jin Jin adds some better veggies. As a Chinese-American guy who has had a couple of restaurants in his family line, I can say that Jin Jin does it right. They've got a chef in back with a huge black wok over a roaring fire making your eats to order. They don't skimp on the little basics around veggies and higher quality ingredients. They do it all for a really good price and do it lickety-split. And I have to think that they will be my go-to spot for Chinese American eats moving forward. While the decor may be below-average, what they're cooking up is excellent. And while it sounds basic, I NEVER found the same type of eats living in downtown Raleigh for TWELVE plus years. When I say ... I spy a gem in the cut I mean it . I ordered a small shrimp & broccoli in garlic sauce with a small beef spear ribs . Total was 20.03 mindful tip chili oil is 0.50 extra I knoww but the flavor was worth every quarter lol . That'll probably be my only issue. Went there to try to get lunch. Asked receptionist/cashier what's good and what's their best seller. She said "they're all the same very curtly". She was very rude and not friendly at all and just doesn't want to be bothered. I just walked away and look for another place to eat. This place is one of the most slowest Chinese restaurant i been to as i only ordered 1 Large meal and they took over 30 minutes and once I received my food instead of a large rice it was a small rice and it prolly was because they have a MINOR seems to be a 11 year old girl working as a cashier which seems totally illegal cause i saw her struggling taking other customers orders and charging them for the wrong things and it wasn't just me who had to wait so long definitely way more customers that had been there for 20+ mins complaining on where there food was and all they said was to be patient SO IF YOU ARE IN A HURRY OR LATE DONT GO THERE CAUSE YOU WILL END UP SPENDING THE REST OF YOUR DAY THERE!! This is a great place to get Chinese take-out. The cashiers/order-takers are polite and friendly. We've had several of the menu items, and all have been good. Hubby especially loves their General Tso's chicken. The portions are very generous. I usually can't finish mine, and Hubby has my leftovers for lunch the next day. Vegetarians BEWARE. I ordered a combination dish of vegetable Lo Mein, vegetable fried rice, and a spring roll. As to my knowledge spring rolls are not supposed to contain meat, and no meat was listed as part of the ingredients. Upon receiving my order and chewing into my spring roll, I was exposed to a pink, mushy substance. I was shocked and went up to the cashier to ask and she said it was pork. We tried this for the first time today, as we had no idea it's right around the corner from our neighborhood. We ordered 3 lunch specials, all came with pork fried rice, unfortunately 1 of the 3 orders was wrong, and of course we didn't notice until we got home and no one wanted to go back and have it corrected after being out hiking all day. The Sesame Chicken was hard to chew, very over cooked. The Shrimp Chow Mein was great. The pork fried rice is wonderful as well. The portions are HUGE for the price. We ordered shrimp & zucchini, but we got chicken and zucchini. It was tasty, but not what we wanted. We're going to try it again in the future, and give them another chance bc the food was fresh and tasty. read more

This is a little place that's mainly take out fast food. The chicken & broccoli is good. Kung Pao has a good flavor but too much celery. Steamed pork dumplings are good. Sometimes the egg rolls are greasy but worth a gamble. But it's cheap & fast. read more

Coming from the Boston area I was spoiled with my Chinese food options. Since moving to NC finding a Chinese restaurant that is close to what I was used to seemed impossible.
