I was parking near Chico State to go to class and I came back to my car having been towed... I have been told that it was because I was "blocking a driveway" which is completely bullshit. I am convinced they will tow anyone and everyone when it comes to making a quick buck. I had more than enough room to park where I was and have parked in the same exact spot MULTIPLE times beforehand while being VERY aware of if I was blocking anything. I'm not unaware like that. I will be fighting the tow but think that everyone in town should know this about them. It might just be a tow company thing. read more

Car wouldn't fully turn over and I needed a jump so rather than trust a neighbors car in who knows what state of functionality I checked Yelp and found Jim's Towing. Came out in about 25-30 minutes from the call (very reasonable for where I'm at and how much trouble it can be to locate the entrance) and had me going in 2 minutes. He didn't have any papers for invoices and I didn't have my insurance card in my car (it was stuck between two pages of my manual) so he let me pass and let me call him up later. Incredibly trusting as all he knew was my address amongst many apartments and my phone number. Will be giving him another call if I need anything else for sure! read more

After reading through everyone's reviews I can only assume that the service provided by Jims Towing, to its paying clients, is spot-on! One thing that must not be undermined is the behavior of employees when off-the-clock or in this case, while uniformed and driving a commercial vehicle. I had a very frightening experience today! An employee of Jim's Towing nearly caused a collision southbound on highway 99! This careless driver proceeded to wrecklessly cut-me-off while failing to use his directional indicator, nearly causing an accident! And to add insult to injury I saw as the driver looked into his rear view mirror and simply brushed off his mistake (with a hand gesture)as if it was normal behavior! I do not know if this driver was impaired or simply wreckless but I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE NOR WILL I EVER REFER FRIENDS, FAMILY, OR CLIENTS TO THIS BUSINESS! My car broke down at the Chico Mall, and I called Jim's to tow me over to my mechanic. The person who answered the phone was gruff and rude, but said that someone would be out in 30 minutes. A driver showed up 35-40 minutes later, and he was great! His name was Jason, and he first asked if we had roadside assistance through our insurance company, which I did not think we did. He asked to see the insurance card and pointed out that we do! So it saved us the tow fee, which was great! He also told jokes while hooking up the car to keep the mood light. read more

I have been doing business with Jim's Towing for over 20 years I have never one time in 20 years never see them ever making racial remark a racial slur or suggestion. They always provide excellent service and quick responses as they have a great reputation in the city of Chico. As I have read the negative remarks of this person who gave Jim's towing a negative remarks and racist remark he has done nothing gives negative reviews on other businesses as well. I think this person just gets off and gives bad reviews. It just so happened that I was. One car behind this person when this incident happened .Jim's tow driver was pulling out and the person that's made this remark cut him off flipped him off in retaliation because he almost caused an accident. He said he was willing to help us out since it wasn't our fault that our car got towed, and he waved the per day holding fee for us.
