Horrifying customer service. I can't say anything better about their work. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
I moved into a house in Enfield late summer. During the home inspection, there was an issue with the boiler. As part of our closing, the sellers had to get it serviced. They did (we have the receipt). They also had it serviced the previous May. (Note, that is TWICE since the last heating season.) However, the first time we turned on the heat, the boiler shut off after a few minutes. The boiler continues to turn off randomly. Sometimes it is every few minutes, sometimes it is every few days.
I called Jim's to service it. I think it should be of no charge, since they touched it TWICE since the heat was last used and clearly did not leave it in working condition. I have called three times. Once, I was told it was too late in the day to service new customers. The second time I was told it was past the 30 day guarantee, and that I would have to charge. The third time, the woman argued with me, stating that is was not their fault. She could not give a reason as to why. I asked to speak with an owner, which she said she would try and have him call me before hanging up on me. The person I spoke with in all three phone conversations was very rude. (I am not sure if it was the same person all three times.)
If a company won't stand behind their work, what kind of work do they do?
We just wanted our boiler fixed for this heating season. We plan to get a new one next year, along with a hot water heater, gas stove, and new plumbing upstairs. Jim's has lost all of my respect and the opportunity to complete the $11,000 worth of work our house needs. read more
