Gilbert Plumbing - Main house supply line leak repaired by Gilbert Plumbing. Shutoff valve also installed

"Oh, when times get rough And friends just can't be found…read moreLike a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down" (Paul Simon) Let's be honest, if you own a house and you have some kind of trouble involving water, you're in a heap of trouble. Maybe you can't flush the toilet, or wash your hands, or take a shower, or do the laundry or wash the dishes, or stop a leak. In troubled times like those examples, you'd damn sure better have a good dependable plumber. Well, we found one. In the last 60 days, we've used Gilbert Plumbing four times as a key component in some remodeling work. 1) They disconnected and removed a sink/vanity and toilet from bathroom #1. 2) They repaired a pinhole leak in our main house supply line and added a safety shutoff valve. 3) After bathroom #1 had a new floor and walls, they connected a new sink/vanity and toilet. 4) They connected a new sink/vanity in bathroom #2. This install was a bit more complicated than the bathroom #1 install because the sink flange didn't line up with the old drain -there was a bit of an offset problem. Gilbert also installed a new garbage disposer to replace one that broke down. They always arrived promptly, worked quickly, and charged us reasonably for their work. Bathroom #3 is on the drawing board, and we'll use Gilbert to install a new sink and bring our 1972 shower up to the current building code.

Pipe Doctor Plumbing Service - Old leaky water heater.

Pipe Doctor Plumbing Service

Julian was responsive and returned my call within 30 minutes and setup a visit for the same day, later that afternoon. The issue was corrosion of the supply valve on the sink, which was leaking under the cabinets. Julian provided a fair price for the repair and was extremely efficient and worked clean. He was respectful of our home and took precautions such as shoe coverings and drop cloths. We are extremely happy with the repair and it was successful. We also had another repair made, unrelated to the first issue and again utilized the Pipe Doctor. This required removed of a section of ceiling due to a pipe leak within the ceiling section. Julian inquired if I had a water test performed, since I was on well water. I had recently requested a water tests and the results reflected a ph of 6.3 (7.0 being optimal). After inspection of pipes in the basement and the ph results, Julian informed me that the issue is due to acidic water quality impacting the copper pipes. Julian was able to repair the leak but advised that the issues may continue if I don't treat the water. I appreciated the feedback and confirmed the issue with a well water company. I truly appreciate the option of dealing directly with an owner/operator (licensed plumber). In addition Julian is fair, responsive and a very experienced plumber. I would recommend The Pipe Doctor Plumbing Service and we plan to use his services again for a bathroom renovation.

He said it wasn't worth his time to come out for such a minor fix and instead recommended replacing the entire toilet, to make it worth his while. Upon reaching out to another local plumbing business, they determined it was an easy fix and came out same day to fix it, at a much lower cost, since we didn't actually need to replace the entire toilet. Very disappointed in the longstanding relationship we had with Julian, but happy to go elsewhere (Avon Plumbing) where they're actually willing to do the job.

He responded quickly, worked efficiently, and completed the repair much faster than I expected without sacrificing quality. What impressed me most was his professionalism and attention to detail. After the work was completed, the entire area was cleaned up so well that you could hardly tell any excavation had been done. The workmanship was excellent and he kept me informed throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a reliable, honest plumber who takes pride in his work, Joe is the person to call. I couldn't be happier with the service and would absolutely use him again.

I was told that there was another hose that needed to be replaced because it wasn't up to code. I was charged $700 for the replacement hose. The problem was not resolved, and when I called back to inform the plumber that the washing machine was still leaking, I was told to call an appliance tech because they don't repair washing machines. The plumber refused to refund me my money after I had explained that the leak had not been fixed, and the job was not resolved. Now I have to spend more money to have an appliance tech come out and assess the problem, and pay for any repairs. I was taken advantage of, for sure!

I needed to get it done asap because I was supposed to have an appraisal that day, and wanted to reschedule sooner than later. So no time for second opinions. I agree to have the water heater replaced and was given a price of over 4K, as I mentioned I was in a pickle so I said yes. I know good and well I could have gotten it done for way less. So this was on a Friday, and they called me first thing Monday morning and said we were the first window. So Dana, and Bryce came over to install. Very pleasant guys. Explained everything and got to work. Later that night, went to take a shower, no hot water!!! So I called Call the Bee and let them know, so they said best they could do was have someone come out the following morning. Dana and Bryce came back, tinkered around downstairs and he comes up to tell me he knows what the problem is, so hey installed a natural gas w/h instead of propane!!! So they made it right, had to go all over the state to fine a propane w/h and about 3 hours later he returned and installed the proper w/h. The bonus was I even got the better brand than they typically offer. So even with all the chaos they made things right, so I would just encourage everyone who uses them to make sure you thoroughly check the order of the appliance because they hat could have been disastrous!!

I thought I was paying to get service to repair it for using too much oil in the summer. They quoted 19k for a new furnace, when a second opinion said mine was working perfectly fine and he'd take it apart and install it in his own home. I just needed a mixing valve for 700. This company will financially shaft you if they can. No trust for people who do business based on lies to unsuspecting clients. How they have 4.8 stars on google is a wonder, they must have paid for because their conduct is not fair or honest.
