stay away!! rude & unprofessional! I had my tires rotated last evening at another business & they rated them @ 80% yet Jim's Sticker shop failed them today upon inspection. I also caught David , the irate employee pulling at my rear quarter panel to loosen it (I had just put my beach chair in the trunk & it was fine). My nightmare began when I bought my vehicle from Lee. The 1st year I replaced many things including new windshield, new tires, new gas tank and several other things (Lee worked on it) Year 2 I started seeing electrical issues and had been to Lee multiple times and they kept saying it was a sensor but the vehicle was still safe to drive until I could get into the appointment (Dec 22nd) Finally I was completely frustrated with the way the jeep was running and all the lights on and I took it to Jim's. I had taken prior vehicles here for service and had always been happy with them. They gave me the option of how I wanted it looked at. Did I want a mechanic to simply do the diagnostic scan, did I want it actually lifted and looked at. I chose to get both done, I wanted to know everything that was going on with this jeep. Sadly there was a extensive list of issues but they went over everything with me, they told me which ones were priorities and what could safely wait (rear wiper etc) When I left that day I had my receipt for what they had done, a written copy of what was wrong with the jeep, a printed copy of the estimate of just the serious stuff needed to make it safe and a printed copy of everything needed to get it fixed properly and ready for an inspection sticker. They were able to get me in within a few days. They told me ideally they could get it fixed within a couple hours if everything went perfectly but they would rather I leave it for the day in case they needed extra time or found something else wrong. Dropped it off for the day and called them around 2pm to see how it was going. I was told that the mechanic was finishing up and was going to do a test drive to make sure everything was okay and it would be ready soon. I was excited, even though it cost me more than I would have liked considering I'm still making payments on this vehicle but I was. I arrived shortly after and they patiently explained everything that was going on, they had even come in under the estimate that I was given and they threw in a new inspection sticker. Going home wasn't much of a drive but today I was able to really get out and give it a good ride. This vehicle rides beautifully!!! It honestly runs better than it ever has (even coming off the lot) I feel safe knowing that everything has been looked at, fixed and done correctly No matter who you buy your vehicle from doesn't mean you have to take it to them, especially if they've done shotty work in the past. I am so happy to have taken it to Jim's and I will not be going anywhere else with it in the future. These guys are skilled mechanics and will not let you drive off without knowing your 100% safe in your vehicle. Brand new car with 1,300 miles on it. Oil on leather steering wheel after an oil change. And that was with a steering wheel cover on it. They apologized and slammed down a greasy used package of interior wipes. No thanks! A week later they charged me 65 dollars to tell me that they want $2000 for brake work on a different car. They want to replace the master cylinder, The pads rotors drums calipers and break lines, but refused to do it. They think it's hard to find parts for an older vehicle. Have they heard of the internet? I mean seriously, don't insult my intelligence by telling me it's hard to find parts for an older car. Use the internet ! Big waste of time. I asked for an oil change on car number 2 also, but did not even get that. 65$ for nothing. I feel used! I should have ran when they ruined the leather steering wheel on my brand new 30 thousand dollar car! I am never going here again. read more

I went to get an inspection check. They failed me because my windshield liquid was too low to check. So instead of just putting a little bit and testing they failed me. I went across the street to the AutoZone, put in some liquid and it worked immediately. Talked to a friend about this and they said that Jim's failed him for having one of those plastic covers on the license plate. He asked if he could just remove it and they said they would either need to charge for labor to do it ($80 per hour) or have him do it and then recharge immediately for a new inspection. Personally, I find this absurd and telling of how money-hungry they are. I want to also add (not be cruel or insensitive) but the person working on my car had alarmingly poor hygiene. I understand that we all have different levels of "standards of hygiene" but this was like I have never seen in a place of business before. Garages are dirty places and I expect mechanics to be (reasonably) dirt but this was ROUGH..in many ways that were completely non-mechanic related. The treatment over the inspection sucked but tbh this guy's hygiene made me nauseous and is the main reason I would not go back. read more

Went here on recommendation. Failed my inspection citing "rotor rust." I knew this was suspicious as it wasn't flagged in a pre-purchase inspection two weeks ago. Employee was noticeably annoyed that I didn't go along with the charade. Brought my vehicle to a secondary location who confirmed the pads and rotors are brand new, passed the vehicle with no problem. Annoyed that I had to pay for two inspections, but that's better than the $400 in unneeded repairs that Jim's wanted to trick me into. read more

I've used Mike's for a couple years now initially just for inspection sticker and oil change. But lately I've noticed that every time I go in there there seems to be issues that run anywhere from 500+ dollars. I had a dentist like this once, every time I went in, he found something wrong. I hope this is not something that Mike is getting into the habit of doing because I really like him and his garage. read more

Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving I discovered a headlight was out. Drove to Jim's the next morning and he repaired it and also told me my Inspection Sticker had expired. I have had 2 great experiences at Jim's Auto my last two visits. The owner was friendly and engaging. I could tell that they were very busy, but I appreciated how the owner took the time to talk with his customers as I was waiting for my car to be ready. I had to have some work done on my vehicle and the owner walked me through what steps I would need to take and how much I would be looking at spending. When I mentioned how I would have to budget, he was able to put things in order of importance and price. It was very helpful. We brought our car in for an oil change, on our way home a light came on so we brought it back to Jim's Auto and were told that the thermostat needed to be changed and it will cost us 364.00, we schedule the appointment and were told that it would take approximately an hour. We bring the car in at 8 AM and didn't get the car back until 2 PM, when we pick up the car we get hit with the bill which is more than double the cost of what we were quoted. They never called us to notify us of any additional cost or to give us any updates on the vehicle. We are definitely not pleased with this business and the way they handle things. read more

Jim's Auto has been my repair shop for the last 11-12 years. They have used me fairly and always checked with me to see if I just wanted to do the minimum repair or if I wanted to replace other common parts while the car was apart, recently as in: pressure plate, clutch, throw-out bearing and slave cylinder. They have also checked to ask, on certain repairs, if I would rather have them look for used parts to save a few bucks. I'm confident that the work they did for me was done right. I went to Jim`s auto repair for n Inspection sticker and I was told the repairs for parts and labor were estimated at $1100.00  , they said I needed a pitman arm and an idler arm, I had just got new tires a few months ago and everything was in great shape for the steering parts, so I took my truck to another shop and got the Real needed things repaired , so Jim`s is a ripoff repair shop, DO NOT GO THERE, !  they also lied about other parts that they said were needed for a safety inspection and that was also another attempt to RIP ME OFF, read more

Worst customer service. Don't take your car here for an inspection, they'll fail you for a $3 bulb, force you into paying them 17.50 to put it in or you will fail and have to pay to reinspect. Crooked people working there, I understand the law, but at the same time what happened to a little leeway and good customer service.
