I'd like to give Road Kill five stars: the clothes are incredible and priced competitively for the…read morequality, which isn't a guarantee in this deeply touristed district. Coats, capes, shirts, shoes, jackets, goth, steampunk--it's all there and very cool. The two women that helped me were also friendly and knew the product and the fitting room is as stylish as the rest of the place. My issue is that I wanted a different size of something in stock and left my number on a peice of paper to get a call later (I haven't gotten a call, but it might just not be back in stock, so no big deal). I was hoping I could simply check back online, but the web page is a seldom-updated disaster. So, I loved the shop, and I'll be back when I'm in NOLA, but I'd also love it if I could buy stuff from NY State, where I live, and just have it shipped. Clean up the web page so I can do that?

Everything from tops, bottoms, costumes, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories will be found here. Far from fast fashion, these are quality threads that will not only last you, but will keep catching eyes for years to come. The people working here are friendly and patient. They'll help you find the clothes you want in the sizes they have. Prices are high at Road Kill, but that's to be expected with the level of quality you're going to be getting out of your clothes. In our last visit, my wife found a beautiful and colorful set of boots, made with genuine leather. They were cool, comfy, and around $150. Which might be high for some, but honestly, we thought it was an excellent deal. Whether you need to dress up for a special night, or need to expand your already magnificent wardrobe, Road Kill has got you covered.

I bought a Young Ones t-shirt, which I didn't even know they made, and we had a good conversation about it. Yeah, the prices were a little high, but I saw stuff there I've never seen before. Shirts that were long out of print or not really sold elsewhere. They even had Mr. Bungle shirts. Tons of accessories, too. I wish I lived nearby so I could go more often, since they don't seem to have a website. It's definitely on my list the next time I'm in NOLA. A lot of people are saying the store reminded them of Hot Topic from back in the day, but imho Hot Topic was never this good. It's the kind of store Hot Topic wishes it could be.

Unfortunately, he was pretty rude and wouldn't let my partner try on a crop top because "men destroy the merchandise when they try on women's clothes." My boyfriend is very small, and can fit into me and my mothers clothing (women's s-xs) and the crop top was quite large but he was adamant that since it was a women's shirt it would not fit. We are both alternative, and when we walk into an alternative store we didn't expect for masculine people to not be allowed to try the women's clothing. He also said something to me about how the shorts I was buying were for men. Seemed weirdly conservative on who bought what clothes. Mildly disappointing.
