The store is pretty torn up so be prepared to dig. But I did find a red skirt for my carnival costume so it's all good. The parking lot can be a bit of a disaster if there is an event at the Shamrock which is in the same strip mall. In a totally non-pushy way, she asked if I saw the sale. I was psyched about catching a deal. And when I misread the pricing, the manager explained the details in a kind tone. The racks were tidy and it was easy to find my size. I returned the next day to exchange a sundress for some shorts I had my eye on the previous day. The clerks were professional and helpful, and our transaction went well. You have to love Rainbow because they have all kinds of inexpensive outfits. But the people employed at this location will keep me coming back far into the future!

They had a great assortment from Good American and Madewell, with a good range of sizes and styles to choose from. So yay because I needed a pair of jeans because the weather was much cooler than I'd packed for. The dress section, however, felt a bit repetitive. Lots of the same styles, so not a ton of variety there. One thing that really stood out was the shoe section, especially if you're a size 10. There was a very large selection, which isn't always easy to find. Overall, a solid stop if you're looking for quality denim and shoes, but also know that it's Nordstrom Rack so options will always vary.

Then there's the ridiculous attempt at tricking you into signing up for a Nordstrom credit card. Why would anyone sign up for a Nordstrom credit card? At checkout they ask you, do you want to join? They say, it's 60% off today. If you say, sure. I'll join as long as there's no charge. They say there's no charge, then they start signing you up for a credit card. Although it's not it should be illegal. As long as you don't join anything, sign up for anything, or elect any credit cards, the prices here are reasonable.

So a trip to their store on my New Orleans trip was a must on my to-do list. I ended up stopping by three times and left with 3 gorgeous dresses and a pair of earrings. Tami helped me out on my last visit and she was such a sweetheart! She not only helped me out with picking out dresses, but we talked history, travel, architecture, vintage - everything! She also gave me the sweetest hug and wished me safe travels on my way out - I felt like i was leaving behind a friend even though we had just met. I love genuine connections and people like her. She is a complete gem of a soul! I can't wait to be back some day!

I was pleasantly surprised when I made a Christmas return to the Dante St. store. The sales women were very helpful and personable and the store was much larger than I thought. They have everything from formal wear (maybe just because it's carnival season) to casual wear and PJs. The clothing styles don't completely mesh with my own, but I did find a couple of very cute jackets that I'm sure I'll love for years to come. Plus right now is their big sale so they were 70% off which allowed me to purchase both rather than one.
